Week 2 - May Low Carb Bootcamp - our first official weigh-in!

Morning all!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And don't forget the the Weight Tracker (I hope that link works but apologies if it doesn't!)

So we come to our first weigh-in. I know from last week's thread that results are going to be a bit mixed - but I hope that most of you will see a good loss.

If you haven't, don't panic! Sometimes it can take a bit of time for your body to trust you, especially if you're a bit of a serial dieter.

If you think you've been doing everything according to the rules, but still haven't seen a loss, then list out for me your meals over the last 3 or 4 days and let me see if I can spot anything obvious.

But whatever the results are today, please remember it's not a competition!

We all lose weight at different rates. And someone who sees a big loss in one week isn't going to see that every week.

And remember - it's not all about what the scales tell you. You'll find that your body shape can change even if the scales remain unchanged!

Good luck to you all.

I've been lcing for 5 weigh in yesterday. 8lb down. Bit disappointed as there are people on here dropping 6lb in a week (well done, by the way).

Ive cut down on dairy the last 2 weeks, including tea and coffee. And I no longer snack so I guess I'm eating less now during the day.

I suppose I haven't got too much more to lose, im 5ft 10 and want to lose another stone, so maybe that is why the weight loss hasn't been so rapid.

I'm enjoying this WOE though, and realistically think I can lose another 8lb before a couple of events in 6 weeks time. Don't have scales so use my mom's whenever I'm round hers. So will just have to trust that I'm still losing till I manage another weigh in.

Again, well done all. And thank you for all your encouragement and inspiration (even though you didn't even realise you were doing it!)

CobbOnn · 18/05/2015 18:49

5 weeks that should read

plumstone · 18/05/2015 18:53

Not a great day - feel completely exhausted and have done since about 3pm, really struggled to get to the end of the day! Typing this and can barely keep my eyes open!

bettybigballs · 18/05/2015 19:00

Some fabulous losses, well done everyone! I've STS but my hormones are all over the place this week so expecting a mega whoosh this week. Keep on keeping on!

LexLoofah · 18/05/2015 19:18

suzy sorry to hear about your FIL

justonemore where the heck are you if you can only get cabbage? Thought we had it bad (grand cayman). I am now an expert on cabbage having bought one the size of a bowling ball a few weeks ago which lasted for more than two weeks. It's not the lowest carb veg but it is delish and a good vehicle for lots of butter. I mostly sauted some shrdded in butter, sometimes adding caraway seeds. Bacon and cabbage fried is a great meal. It is lovely with salmon too. You can shred it finely and use it as a replacement for spaghetti with meatballs or ragu. There's a few coleslaw recipes on the recipe thread too and I think maybe a braised cabbage one too like you would have alongside a roast.

LexLoofah · 18/05/2015 19:26

Almost a lb off, hoping for more but will take it

B - smoked salmon, 2 poached eggs, hollandaise, cuppa, creamy coffee - who needs Special K with skimmed milk? Bleurghhh
L - meatzza - so tasty, filling and easier than cauli pizza. DCs loved it.
D - leftover pork roast as fajitas, will attempt some version of lc tortillas

S - a few pieces of crackling, not because I was hungry but for the sheer luxury and novelty of being able to

PatsyNoPasta · 18/05/2015 19:33

6 lbs down. I chuffed. Will update spreadsheet later. Grin

Romeyroo · 18/05/2015 19:40

Cobb, the last stone for me took three months, but I was eating what I felt comfortable with; for the last four pounds I had to ditch my unsweetened soya lattes, and I am now pretty much STS if I am KOKO.

Well, I just got my head around changing the fuse for my oven and it works again! Some kind soul on the last BC got advice from their DP for me, but it was only DS pleading for lasagne which made me try and actually fix it... I made a veggie version with spinach instead of pasta sheets and did the white sauce with soya milk but feel stuffed now and it will probably show on the scalesSad as there was flour in the sauce though I tried not to have too much. Feel bloated which reminds me wheat does NOT agree with me.

DS is impressed with me, though, and says I should be an electrician when I grow up!

Hangonaminutewillyou · 18/05/2015 20:44

Lex - what is meatzza? I sense I have missed something good there! I like cauli pizza but it's such a faff!

Hangonaminutewillyou · 18/05/2015 20:45

I forgot to say my loss was just over 5lb...no doubt a lot of water retention but I'll take it Grin

Well done to everyone - let's KOKO!

trashcanjunkie · 18/05/2015 20:55

I am three pounds down!!!! I haven't had chance to properly catch up with the thread, but I will do as soon as I get a minute later tonight. Am currently having an allergic reaction to some fucking marinated bastard artichokes. Face red hot and swollen. Belly looks nine months gone! Gonna break out dps super antihistamine if it doesn't cool off soon!

Ellesbelles04 · 18/05/2015 21:24

2lbs off on official weigh in day- but last week I was 4lb down (I weigh daily on a withings smart scale). I have just started my TOTM so I don't know if that's related.

So far so good, I had an awful day on Friday- just felt so ill and foggy headed, but since then all is well. My only cheat was a couple of vodka sodas on the weekend, but I felt disproportionately hungover the next day, so feel more keen to just cut out the booze properly. (Yes I know, should not be boozing on bootcamp anyway...)

Dinner tonight was pan fried sea bass, cauliflower mash with full fat cream cheese and spinach. I also tried making a cauli pizza yesterday which was yummy, but think a second attempt will be better.

My spiralizer from amazon will arrive later in the week- bring on the courgetti!

Well done on the losses everybody!

weegierama · 18/05/2015 21:29

well done everyone. i'm not weighing in but have stuck to the rules; clothes feeling looser and I feel positive and energetic, and most importantly, not hungry at all. so all good

ewanhoozami · 18/05/2015 21:36

meal shout:

B - scrambled eggs with ghee and celery salt
L - at a Wetherspoons. Oh lordy. Salmon steak with a big salad and loads of mayo so not too bad at all.
D - celeriac and courgette soup

Tetley650 · 18/05/2015 21:41

Have tried to have a look at the spreadsheet but keeps opening on allowed food!!!!

DarkEvilMoon · 18/05/2015 21:43

Just click the weigh in tab at the bottom to change the view tetley

clare8allthepies · 18/05/2015 21:52

I was pleasantly surprised this morning to be 2 and a half pounds down after all the issues of the past few days. Everything seems to be settling down so my plan is to gradually reduce the carbs back down, maybe bootcamp lite for a couple of days then if I'm ok full bootcamp again.

Could someone please enter my weight as 148.5 on the spreadsheet as my laptop is now officially kaput!

SayraT · 18/05/2015 22:21

Right, I think I have updated everyone who asked (someone else did sass).

Some really good losses on the spreadsheet so well done!

SayraT · 18/05/2015 22:24

Happytobehomely I've just noticed that you don't have a starting weight, you might want to add one otherwise any loss won't record properly.

QUESTION would people like me to work out and announce our biggest loser each week or would you rather not?

PatsyNoPasta · 18/05/2015 22:28

I should have said I am chuffed not I chuffed which sounds rude Blush.

I have found that drinking lots of water does make a difference. I feel full of energy and I didn't get the urge to have a nap this afternoon. I am thrilled with my loss so far. I've got a wedding this weekend which will be a carb challenge Grin

mummyto3under4 · 18/05/2015 22:34

Sayra please please pretty please update mine, I'm unable to do it on phone and tablet.
Started at 140 and this morning I was 134.
Thank you in advance. I don't mind seeing who the biggest looser is each week

SayraT · 18/05/2015 22:39

ijustwanttobeme · 18/05/2015 22:46
