I'd post pics but I'm too embarrassed and scared DM will steal.

I have MH issues and I get so overwhelmed. I'm always so tired. I grew up in filth and now I'm doing the same. I have too much stuff. Bin bags of dirty washing

My kitchen is foul. My bathroom too.

I'm so ashamed.
No get it done when I'm on a high in my bipolar cycle then I can't keep up with it and it gets gross again. Then I spiral because it stresses me out so much.

How do people manage to have nice clean houses

I'm such a failure

Morning.

Well after sleeping all day yesterday I woke up at 5 :45am today and decided to come down and try and finish the kitchen instead of playing on my phone.

My freezer is broke, I think it's the seal? And my door had opened in the night so I've lost all my frozen stuff Angry

Plodding on with the kitchen though

Might even post a pic when done x

Still going

That's an great indication of how bad it is Blush

Have scrubbed the oven
Taken out the glass and soaked in baking powder. Glass has cone up shiny

're arranged my cupboards so I could actually put my clean pots and pans away rather than have them stacked all over the place

Cleared all the sides and scrubbed them and the tiles.

Cleaned the window sill and scrubbed it

Lots to do still but carrying on

That skjnds brilliant. Sorry if I've missed it. Do you have a washing machine? I find putting a load on first thing helps me keep on top of it.

UnderTheOakTree · 19/06/2018 11:11

Go MuckyMare! Sounds like you're on a roll - have you got something nice planned for a treat later as a reward?

tremendous · 19/06/2018 11:23

Start with the kitchen. Lots of bin bags. Throw anything grim away. Charity shop anything you have doubles of. People that live in messy houses usually have too much stuff. If you can't tidy easily there is no time left to clean at the end. Once you have done the kitchen do the bathroom -- bathroom ought to be an easy win as you can't have that much stuff in it. Then do your bedroom. Get stuff out of the house - it's no Good piling it up to take later - get out what you have done daily otherwise it just ends up back i circulation.

SluttyButty · 19/06/2018 11:32

Yah sounds like you've made an excellent start.

Never mind the kids making out they've been sent down the mines, all kids do that whether they live in a clinical house or a mess. You know you're not asking them too much and that's all that matters. No more feeling guilty Grin

Good orogress in the kitchen!! Especially sorting the cupboards its so much nicer to be able to put things away without a avalanche xx

MuckyMare · 19/06/2018 20:08

Ok I've finished the kitchen

I just cried with happiness walking in

I took a few before photos but the these were the 'best' areas as I was to ashamed to take pics of the really bad bits (talking plates of food and floor covered in dirty clothes and food packaging BlushSad )

But it's done!!!

andalittlebitofpixiedust · 19/06/2018 20:23

OP, you have done BRILLIANTLY. You must be so relieved and proud.

mineofuselessinformation · 19/06/2018 20:30

That looks lovely OP.
Try to keep it like that if you can.
Next, tackle the bathroom too. Tell everyone now those rooms are clean and tidy, they need to stay like it - it's everyone's responsibility.
Could you use the bath washing technique? If you washed clothes in the bath (basically just let them soak and then give them a bit of a swish about, then rinse in cold water - let the washing water out, fill up again with cold. I used to find I needed two rinses at least to get the soap out), you could then just use your washing machine to spin it. That shouldn't cost too much.
If you can't afford to run your clothes drier, consider getting a clothes horse. If your house is reasonably warm you could get things dry in less than 24 hrs, or even put the clothes horse outside if it's a warm day and you don't have a line.
Whilst you're sorting washing, put anything to one side that you know isn't needed any more, and bin it - it's a waste of your money to wash what's not needed.
Good luck and keep going. Smile

Elenorrigbywoes · 19/06/2018 20:37

Well done - it looks great!

MuckyMare · 19/06/2018 20:44

Your kitchen looks great, well done

AsleepAllDay · 19/06/2018 20:53

Looks amazing @MuckyMare ! I think clutter can be the worst enemy of tidying up but if you pick things up as you go along in the kitchen it should be easier to do - putting away bits and doing the washing up right after cooking, for instance. Looks lovely and must have been a big effort! Congrats :) hope you're rewarding yourself with wine and telly

Atalune · 19/06/2018 21:05

Wow!!!

Now just have some good habits in place to keep it looking so fantastic!

Candyflip · 19/06/2018 21:24

Wow! Mucky, it looks fantastic! Well done you! I like your dresser, it’s cute.

Hidingupstairs · 19/06/2018 21:25

I really think that’s VERY impressive OP. You have a really lovely kitchen! So tidy! Big congrats Flowers Brew Cake

ThatEscalatedQuickly · 19/06/2018 22:01

You've done a great job OP. Well done!

MuckyMare · 19/06/2018 22:18

I think I might treat myself to some bright flowers from Aldi in Thursday for the kitchen :)

Thanks for the supportive messages. I really don't think I would have finished if it weren't for this thread.

I'm not finished though. Lots more to do x
