Help me not hate my new kitchen!!!! (+photos)

Ok - my kitchen (which is supposed to be a delicate, cool grey) has just been installed in our new build.

Bear in mind there are no lights yet and the 2 side windows are covered in blue protective film. Finally the white carrara worktop has not yet been installed which will hopefully give it a lift.

However, I can't help feeling it just looks drab!! Please can you help reassure me that it will look a lot better when finished? I can't decide what paint colour to go with either so any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I'm starting to panic!
Thanks

P.S 100% aware that this is a complete FWP.

Looks great, you've got enough on the shelves to make it look homely instead of like a laboratory, but it's not remotely cluttered.
I LOVE the breakfast cupboard!

Still needs a stunt pineapple!

Love the coffee area, and now the film is off the windows you can see the cabinetry is grey, which looks lovely, and putting your stuff in has really pulled it all together.

I am in awe of the breakfast cupboard, I never knew they even existed
As yes you need a stunt pineapple

Poppyfields21 · 21/07/2018 14:35

Honestly I think it’s lovely. Not sure why other posters felt the need to come on here and be rude when you’d asked for help in seeing it positively Hmm some people Confused
If it were me I’d actually stick to off white walls, perhaps F&B strong white? I’d add colour through vases such as this beautiful blue glass one tinyurl.com/y8437nnf and using flowers such a lots of eucalyptus or green hydrangeas (you can get wonderful faux flowers so you’re not constantly buying!). You could also consider a colourful rug but that’s not to everyone’s taste. Get on Pinterest and you’ll soon put your mind at rest.

@kitchenmad omg I’m actually drooling. Your kitchen is like all my dreams

Thishatisnotmine · 21/07/2018 15:54

It looks great. Remember when kitchens were fussy and decorative? Coving, moulded bits, glass cupboards - terrible! Yours will look bright, clean and functional. And all that storage!

Thishatisnotmine · 21/07/2018 16:02

Missed your most recent pictures OP. I hate you and your beautiful kitchen Grin!

wonkylegs · 21/07/2018 17:47

Looks great

FacelikeaBagofHammers · 21/07/2018 18:28

Guilty, I had to have somewhere to put the coffee machine & grinder so I could get them off the limited worktop space!

Off to find a joke stunt pineapple 😂

OP your kitchen is fabulous. Totally love it. You did it! Congratulations. 🥂🍾

HattieAndHerBoy · 21/07/2018 20:12

Op. Your kitchen is lovely and far from going mad with colour I’d keep it all very plain and low key.

HattieAndHerBoy · 21/07/2018 20:16

Sorry Op, your new kitchen is beautiful and I wish you a lifetime of happiness in your new home.
