What truly gorgeous things have you bought for your house recently?

Half way through a long, messy renovation and feeling a bit disheartened.

What gorgeous things could I use to decorate/kit out my newly improved home when it's finished - approx a million weeks from now?

Oh yes, I've replaced about 30 feet of tatty fencing, with solid hardwood plank fencing...loooks fab and old guttering with new black guttering and white plastic fascia board.
I'm cutting down on jobs for when we hit old age.
Oh yes and a new garage door.

So far I've spent over £5000 on functional stuff.
Nothing in there to gladden the heart yet.

I have a white oval chevalier mirror and I've seen the ones that hold your Jewellery. I haven't seen one as big as that
Can you tell me where you got yours please.
I think I need to get one like yours because I have loads of semi precious stone Jewellery languishing in drawers and at least in there I'd have the pleasure of seeing it all when I opened the mirror to actually wear some.

I did renew our white bedside cabinets...never will I buy wicker again.

I bought mine in Dubai Dowser. Sorry not to be more helpful. Have you tried searching online? They're very popular in Arab countries.

I've bought some lovely art work from etsy and red bubble. We're doing some redecorating and I can't wait till it's done so I can put it up!

So far I've got four of them up by the front door, and have put one of them on hinges to hide the keys. DH still incapable of putting keys away though

We just got this for our bedroom, it fits with our scandi theme and is really useful in preventing DHs clothes cluttering the chair/floor

It's not really very lovely but I bought a tie rack from the charity shop to hang my scarves on in my new wardrobe.

Kind of like this only a good deal more retro looking.

Not for me, but for my ds who has to give up his cot for new baby. He is going to love it!

We are doing up a 300 year old house ourselves, found so many surprises such as original flagstone flooring and beautiful alcoves behind hideous 1970's wooden panelling (a quick fix to hide damp no doubt!) I've been gardening a lot which is starting to look fabulous
