Half way through a long, messy renovation and feeling a bit disheartened.

What gorgeous things could I use to decorate/kit out my newly improved home when it's finished - approx a million weeks from now?

I just bought some really beautiful artisan style ceramic cabinet doorknobs. I just need to convince OH that we need them now! 😁

I've just had a beautiful glass ballustrade put in to replace the ugly Victorian stair furniture that was there and had been repainted a lot! Cost a fortune but it's so beautiful! (Well it was before the baby blew a raspberry against the glass)

This thread is brilliant. We're in the middle of a renovation too and apart from two beds and a dressing table, are buying everything again. It's a mammoth task but obviously really exciting and I need all the help I can get so will be following with interest!

Thanks DoorwaytoNorway I have been perusing Portuguese tile decals on Etsy till I'm cross-eyed! The traditional blue ones are lovely. We are really doing a tart up job on the kitchen, as the kitchen is huge and a full renovation would be ££££s, so have painted the cabinets, the new floor is going down Tuesday, cleaned up the grouting and wanted to add tile decals to make it look like new 😊.

Looking at the prices for people's curtains on here they are pretty reasonable too! It was £20/m and I got 9m (all there was on the roll) and I've been quoted £100-ish to make them up.

Ooh I love threads like these, I'm getting some great ideas! I'm obsessed with homewares and interiors, unfortunately my budget doesn't match my expensive tastes and my house is a bit cobbled together, but I did save up for my new tripod lamp (£75 from Homebase, in photo) and I often find bits in charity shops or Facebook market place.

Please ignore the extremely manky rug, we've had it 3 years and we're currently deciding one a new one!

LBOCS2 - I was the same, we have it in a slightly unconventional place. The M&S website photos don't even show it at its best, there are better ones on Google images, if you search on"M&S Carraway".

Cheese love your living room colours. We had new carpet last year and I'm slowly moving from terracottas to purply reds and browns. We have 2 mad cushions from the range which are round and furry, one red and one purple.

We have so much stuff (dp has hoarding tendencies) that we are currently having a big decluttering and I'm rediscovering things and trying to rearrange and use what we have, for example, I cleaned out the garden shed and found a retro turquoise houseplant pot that now lives on our kitchen windowsill to complement our newish blue kitchen. I do also really like charity shop bargains for something unusual to make a house a home.

After a few years of extreme frugality, I've recently got on one a bit and started decorating and buying stuff for the house which for 5 years has been much in a 'as left by the builders' state.

I have had an Ercol 3 piece suite reupholstered (will try and upload a pic)- cushions like that so you can see the lovely frame 😊
