Half way through a long, messy renovation and feeling a bit disheartened.

What gorgeous things could I use to decorate/kit out my newly improved home when it's finished - approx a million weeks from now?

Money is no object massive lie

badger thank you!

It's grey the sofa and then we have a pink wingback chair, then a missoni covered footstool in blues. A blue rug. A bronze pendant light, a g plan teak sideboard, wood burner.

I'm about to paint and get some bookshelves made.

Kennethnoisewater · 29/04/2017 22:49

Sorry, they're there!

SamPotatoes · 29/04/2017 22:49

These bookcases: www.oakfurnitureland.co.uk/furniture/rivermead-natural-solid-oak-tall-bookcase/192.html

I love them, they feel lovely and make my books look even more special.A big step up from the Argos Maine ones we had before :)

Also in the process of buying a print from a local artist, of a house I lived in 30 years ago. So excited to get it and put it on the wall

PatriciaBateman · 29/04/2017 22:53

I don't have this, but I really love it. It's added to my Pinterest wish list for "some day". Smile

Thanks Sam.
Kenneth did you make that bookshelf in the alcove yourself? I'd love that in my lounge.

Delatron · 29/04/2017 22:57

kenneth I may have missed it but where is the yellow velvet sofa from? Looking for one for my lounge!

Crunchymum · 29/04/2017 22:57

The yellow sofa was a bargainous £500 from dfs, the alcove bookshelves were done by a local carpenter.

I have a vast bookmark folder of things I would lovelovelove for our new house. Sadly, a lot of it is too pricey for us, so I am trying to find things similar but not as expensive.
We did buy two lampshades for our kitchen from Dunelm. I wanted these www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-tristan-ceiling-light/p150479 but couldnt justify £120 on two kitchen lampshades right now. These are what we have bought for now are these www.dunelm.com/product/ochre-galley-pendant-1000050213?cm_mmc=pla_google--PLA%20-%20GS%20-%20Lights--Ceiling%20and%20Lamp%20Shades%20-%20New-_-keyword&gclid=CjwKEAjw85DIBRCy2aT0hPmS1jkSJAC1m9UvPk4I8_jiZ5NefNBzbWtXD6bUvEBtICa_RzBWVZsOWxoCAKjw_wcB which can be painted in the future should we need them for a different room. But, they are perfect for now, and no more bare lightbulb blinding us when we walk into the kitchen.

I follow Rocket St George and drool over newrly all their stuff, esp the wallpapers. Cox & Cox are another fave of mine.

So I fell out of love with my curtains and cushions recently...(I know). They just looked very bland and boring. Imagine a dark biscuit sofa and walls with red bits in the bottom of the curtains and on the cushions (due to an inherited; i.e. there when we bought it and too good a quality to change it even if we'd had the money to, red carpet, in our previous house). Having lived with it for 10 years, I suddenly felt the red highlights were old hat and fancied mustard yellow or something instead. A month later and having looked at various Pinterest and whatnot I'm suddenly appreciating the red again BECAUSE it is not en vogue!

This lamp from TK Maxx. Everyone who comes through the door comments on it. We're big star wars fans here and have lots of memorabilia around so a movie theme works well in our lounge. Also bought a wooden crate with 'property of cinema' on the side from TK'S too.

I could spend a fortune in there on decorative bits and pieces Blush
