Half way through a long, messy renovation and feeling a bit disheartened.

What gorgeous things could I use to decorate/kit out my newly improved home when it's finished - approx a million weeks from now?

Money is no object massive lie

That cat's a beauty, Rick! Siamese?

'My' paintings are the things I love most, but I can't link to them, the latest is too location specific.
I like old dark furniture, curtains, decor in main rooms, apart from kids then, with nice art and lamps.

WidowTwonky · 30/04/2017 10:22

Ordered these this week.
Excited

Oh, I have some samples of wallpaper I plan to use. I expect some of you will have come across it, it's theatre boxes print.

SistersOfPercy · 30/04/2017 10:32

@silkpyjamasallday they were from all posters with the frames from wilkos. There are three, Hoth is just out of shot

Can't recall the size we had but they were around £15 for the three. if you have a look on the Chinese website aliexpress they also do clapper board cushion covers for a couple of pounds which fit in great with the theme Grin

Thank you @sistersofpercy I'm sure DB will love them, whether his GF who I think he will live with soon will appreciate them but she did go to a convention with him so there may be hope!

This thread is so bad I'd been so good at not shopping but now there's loads more things I need would like for the house!

maddiemookins16mum · 30/04/2017 11:09

We decorated our lounge/sitting room etc, three weeks ago. Purchased fab duck egg green floral curtains and new cushions (plain but still feature Duck egg green) from Dunelm. They are just gawjus (and are nicer than they sound I promise). Fabulous quality and the whole room looks so summery.

MrTCakes · 30/04/2017 11:36

New sofa cushions.

@silkpyjamasallday also have a look for an artist called Liam Brazier. He does some very quirky and modern star wars prints. I have three.

quirkychick · 30/04/2017 12:44

doorway where did you get your tile stickers from? We are currently doing our kitchen, have painted the grotty wood cupboards a pale blue, having new floor and want to add some extra colour to the tiles.

I'm sitting on my hands, as we are trying to reduce stuff and use what we have things crammed in cupboards that haven't seen the light of day for years.

pinkbraces · 30/04/2017 12:58

Lots of lovely things - I am currently decorating a lounge and hallway so will take inspiration.

drspouse can you link to where you bought the velvet fabrics, just what I am looking for.

DoorwayToNorway · 30/04/2017 13:32

Those are Portuguese tiles, made in Brazil as they are common here, but I'm sure you can get them in the UK. Search Portuguese or Moroccan tiles.

DoorwayToNorway · 30/04/2017 13:33

Also they are traditionally blue, the blue ones are really nice.

LBOCS2 · 30/04/2017 13:36

I've just bought some chairs off eBay which I'm planning on re-covering the seat pads on with some beautiful new fabric.

I've also got a sample of this wallpaper which I'm considering doing a wall in my bathroom in...

Oh, and I got a new toaster recently as since we have three children a two slice toaster was really not cutting it in terms of efficient breakfast making. I bought a Dualit, which seems the height of decadence as you can get a perfectly good toaster which does the same job for a quarter of the price. My DM may be dead but I still have her voice inside my head Wink

The larger version of this Errington Reay planter for my patio: shop.erringtonreay.co.uk/courtyard-large-planters/courtyard-planters/round-planter-medium - still researching what to plant in it!

Chocolatecake12 · 30/04/2017 14:30

I've bought some garden lights. Now need some nice weather to put them out!!

Biscusting · 30/04/2017 14:48

Loving this thread. I haven't been to homesense yet out of fear of buying the whole shop. I have a list of spaces to fill and I think I'll go there when the time is right. Does anyone know if they have a delivery option?

Kennethnoisewater is that F&B Stiffkey blue? I'm running a similar theme in our bedroom but going for golds rather than yellow. Debating whether to paint the skirting boards in the same colour. Feels controversial!

TeachingPostQuery · 30/04/2017 14:57

Love this thread. My latest purchase was this print for the kitchen, I love it. (As you may be able to guess, I love colour.)

Currently thrilled with my purchase yesterday - two boxes of four mini reed diffusers in House of Fraser, £15 each in the sale. And I had a gift card from returning something, so only really cost me a fiver.

Blowingthroughthejasmineinmymi · 30/04/2017 15:02

dj love those plates!

adore homesense

CheesyChristie · 30/04/2017 15:06

I got this recently www.notonthehighstreet.com/twentysevenpalms/product/frida-kahlo-floor-cushion?force_locale=en-GB&gclid=CKaricqszNMCFY8y0wodi24M6w&dclid=CK3glcqszNMCFYwx0wodbdIFIA I really like it but my friend with amazing (albeit very neutral) taste told me it's hideous. Now I'm having a wobble.

RortyCrankle · 30/04/2017 17:26

The last things I bought were really for my garden - 2 gorgeous 1960s rattan 2-seaters and a table which are in my spare room waiting for the weather to improve from www.drewpritchard.co.uk/collections/garden and 2 terracotta pots from www.whichfordpottery.com/buy-our-pots which are fabulous - just wish I could afford to buy them all Sad

Biffsboys · 30/04/2017 17:53

Bought this recently and I love it !
