For people who like to eat a lot of fruit and veg but also need to lose weight. We suggest 10 portions of fruit and veg a day, plus at least 10 mins of extra exercise. Weigh in day is Monday. No Atkins stuff or anything like that please , just healthy eating and exercising.

i was convinced we had had this title before but when i searched to make sure, i couldn't find it
tatties is not here to appreciate it though, not sure who else likes the Smiths?
i was up all night thinking of artichoke titles, i am not sure why
i also thought of "i'm a joker, i'm a smoker, i'm a midnight artichoker'

anyway i digress
it is weigh in day chaps! and i have lost a pound (strongly suspect is dehydration as really thirsty this morning, but i am going to roll with it)
total: 5 lb
someone else said i was looking slimmer yesterday
i lost about 4 lb before i started the thread so in total about 9 lb, that is going to start being quite noticeable i hope

please tell me how much you have lost since last monday, and how much in total since we started
plus goals if you want to do goals - mine is still to lose 3 more lb in next 3 weeks, and to start doing weights for my arms (did not do this last week)
oh and to keep up the running, am planning to do wk 4 run 3 later

elliemental · 26/04/2010 12:37

Franny, I could have sworn we'd used this thread title, but no matter, it's the smiths, therefore fantastic. And no one will notice anyway...as noone else reads our threads

still no weight loss, but no gain, which is GOOOD.
Am in bed with the mother of all colds, which is crap when you consider how active and fruity and veggery I've been.

today: melon. Orange juice ice lolly....boiled egg on toast. with marmite {invalid}

Pointy - I am a little bit in love with you now, for your choice of dresses for me....

CoupleofKooks · 26/04/2010 12:57

i thought so too ellie, but when i search it isn't there?
maybe it was a week where we thought of loads of titles and didn't use them all?

i do hope you feel better

Not weighing (no scales)

But, have been slightly more controlled about the amount I eat.

Slightly that is

I detest weetabix. It goes slushy.
Actually, I don't really like cereal except muesli and porridge.

Muelsi
banana
grapes
pear
carrot sticks
veggie chilli (peppers, green peppers, sweetcorn, pinto beans, kudney beans, tomatoes)
Probably 7 or 8, so a good day here

I have an interview tomorrow so may indulge in comfort eating!
Actually, probably shouldn't have had bean chilli before an interview

pointydog · 26/04/2010 19:50

I love the smiths

erm, not weighed myself today. I'll do it tomorrow. I was down to 11st 2lb (started at 11st 8lb) but the weekend wasn't too brilliant and today has been Bad. Was on a class trip to a bangladeshi restaurant and it would have been very odd if I had refused to eat.

Didn't stuff my face and am skipping tea.

pointydog · 26/04/2010 19:51

I eat my weetabix quickly and it stays crisp. Used to love it with sprinkling of brown sugar but gave that up when I started this malarkey

pointydog · 26/04/2010 19:52

so today\

weetabix with milk
fruit juice
banana
small portion rice, small piece of nan, bit of veg curry, some chicken tikka masallam. Delicious but also fatilicious.

3 for fuh & vuh. Goodness

ThePinkOne · 26/04/2010 20:36

I lost 1.5lb and was very disappointed cause when I weighed midweek it was more than that. Maybe I got complacent! But 1.5 is good. So I've now lost about half a stone and have another half to go before my birthday at the end of May (and also my 10k)!

I ran for 50 mins on Sunday but only covered 7k. I think I'm better if I have breakfast first (then go an hour later) instead of grabbing a banana just before I go. That was silly.

I need to sort out my food. I'm getting better at generally eating less, and less crap but meals need to be more veg orientated.

Mine go to sleep on thier own but DD has been awake til 9 for the last week. Think she went to sleep at about 8 tonight though.

Museli and porridge strike me as odd cereals to like if you're not a fan usually. They're the most cardboardy, stodgy ones!

janeite · 26/04/2010 20:37

Love the title of this - but I am eating a KitKat rather than vege, so I will go away again now.

CoupleofKooks · 26/04/2010 21:07

janeite i think this title is SO GOOD
despite the fact i probably didn't think of it after all and just copied someone else's idea from 2 years ago

pink you have lost loads! pointy you have lost loads! i will try to do scoreboard, don't fret if i have missed you out

pink 1.5 lb total - pink did you lose 7 lb since we started the thread? or just generally?
tiger 1 lb total 3 lb
franny 1 lb total 5 lb
ellie nuffink
rach undeclared
avi undeclared
pointy weighing tomorrow

i did wk 4 run 3 of robcast, so am halfway through
it was fine, i got some MAJOR endorphins at the beginning, with the sun all lovely and glowy and the shadows really long, running beside the river grinning my head off at people
then overdid it slightly and felt a bit sick at the end
anyway in theory i am going to be running 5 k in 4 weeks time
to which i say ha ha ha ha ha
but, you know, there is no way i could have run what i did tonight, 4 weeks ago, without needing oxygen and a stretcher at the end of it
so am most chuffed

OP posts:
ThePinkOne · 26/04/2010 21:14

Not sure when you started the thread. I started on the 1st March. Did really well for 3 weeks then hit Easter I need to buck my ideas up to hit my target now!

Well done on the running Fran! It's amazing isn't it

pointydog · 26/04/2010 21:24

somebody stop me. I have had the worst day ever re my food. After my currylicious lunch, I have now eaten about a whole big handful of tom thumb drops .

CoupleofKooks · 26/04/2010 21:30

pointy that is not the worst day ever
bangladeshi food is delicious and has lots of good stuff in it
just move on from it
put the tom thumb drops down
where are the tiny tangers? eat tiny tangers

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 26/04/2010 21:31

pink not that it really matters, but when i am doing totals, i mean totals since we started, or since you started, on the thread
i don't expect anyone gives a toss though

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 26/04/2010 21:35

cereal, seeds, raisins, melon, pineapple, apple, banana = 4

big ol scooby snack style sandwich (tough morning taking poor ds to dentist - he is fine, i am in bits LOL)

chocolate

crumpet and butter, honey roasted nuts

baked potato, baked beans, cheese = 2

vivaldi potatoes really DO taste good without butter!

pineapple, 3 satsumas, leftoverpartycrisps, cheese, chocolate, dried fruit = 3

am a hungry and greedy bad vegger
total: 9
ran and walked for 30 mins

OP posts:
pointydog · 26/04/2010 21:39

yes, I have tangers. Good point.

I like those vivaldi taters too. I am very into peeled new taters just now. They just taste better peeled somehow

oh sorry avi
plunging into misery is bad
it's only a number!
i know, weigh yourself and shut your eyes, get mr avi to look and then he can tell you what you have lost each week without any plunging
cos i bet he would not find that amusing or mock you in any way at all

everyone must eat vivaldi taters pointy
they are very good

Hello!

I had a lovely time and ate loads of lovely food, including a delicious goats cheese and nettle tart, creme brulee with plum compoete and strawberries, chocolates, bar snacks, champagne and a full continental breakfast and I ate all of it.

After breakfast yesterday though I only had a [large] bowl of lentil and spinach soup for dinner and I seem to have stayed the same weight unless there is a lag.

I lost 2.5 this week and have lost 6 in total. I thought this didn't seem enough but then I put 5 back on on my holliday and had to lose it again.

Avi - I think you should just weigh and it might motivate you to start? it is hard to start I think, everyone hahs teir own trigger when they just can't bear it any more.

Guadalupe · 27/04/2010 10:45

Sorry for typos

There was one annoying thing though. There was a ring I liked ages ago and dh sprung a box on me before dinner and it was the wrong one and I know the right one is gone as I looked and I was hoping dh had bought it but no.

So I said, ooh its lovely BUT not the one I wanted, can we take it back and he said you can exchange it and I said well, the one I want is gone and we can't have a credit note for ££££££ in a jewellers???

It was a right bloody fiasco. They wouldn't take it back, they said they told dh the one I wanted was sold and he said he had to have one and was busy on conference call while shopping [he always does this its so rude] and that I would have to choose something else and they wouold speak to their boss but it was most unlikely..

Shop happens to be opposite the juice man [that's why I saw the ring] and he was looking after ds2 and giving him free juic while I went in [very kind of him] and when I came back a bit upset and fed-up he said he would speak to them as they are regulars and tell them I am a regular and very nice and very upset and I thought well, it can't hurt I suppose, the whole thing has been an embarrassment and later on they ring and say they will refund as good will gesture. Phew! I don't know if it is the work of my juice man with is lovely brazilian charm but I like to think it was.

Guadalupe · 27/04/2010 10:46

er, I went on a bit then but I needed to get it off my chest
