For people who like to eat a lot of fruit and veg but also need to lose weight. We suggest 10 portions of fruit and veg a day, plus at least 10 mins of extra exercise. Weigh in day is Monday. No Atkins stuff or anything like that please , just healthy eating and exercising.

oh guad what a saga! glad you had a good time and oh the food

we just foound a dead shrew
ds has it in a collecting pot
do you remember the dead bee? oh lord we never learn
if i freeze it will it stop the inevitable? (for now?) there were flies on it when i found it
he wants to let it rot and keep the skeleton, so we may have to bury it or something
i am NOT good with putrefaction so not ecstatic about this
our friend has a hobby of finding small animals and letting them decay so perhaps she will do it for us? is it acceptable to email someone and ask if we can rot our shrew in their garden?
it's not in debrett's, i have looked

1: Kudos for running Cok!
2: Nice food Guad
3: how tiresome w/r ring saga

I am still ill. Pah. No time for this. But too feeble to fight through it. I fought thruit at weekend and I think I needed rest.

Anyhoo boredom is makin me eat a lot.
Porridge
blueberries
melon
arrabiata pasta with chicken and courgette and peas and salad, too much granola. tiny tangers. Frozen grapes (sore throat)
orangejuice lollies

Now I want lemon drizzle cake which is calling to me from kitchen.

elliemental · 27/04/2010 15:06

just read shrew thing...eeek.
lololol he dead bee still makes me snigger

i WOULD FIND A MUTAULLY ACCEPTABLE SPOT IN THE GARDEN AND PUT IT THERE ON A BED OF LOWERS OF WHATEVER FOTHERINGTON-TOMAS ACTIVITY IS appropriate.
(sorry caps lock was on)
then make ds wait for several weeks before investigating it again.

CoupleofKooks · 27/04/2010 15:21

our garden is only small, ds2 will find and eat it unless it is buried
shall i bury it? how long will it take to be a skeleton?

OP posts:
elliemental · 27/04/2010 16:05

depends on the weather, I guess....{shudders}

Guadalupe · 27/04/2010 16:10

put it up high maybe, on a shed?

Sorry you are still ill, elli. I had my cold for AGES a few weeks ago then suddenly I was better. I think dieting prolongs it a bit maybe but its hard.

CoupleofKooks · 27/04/2010 16:18

that's a good idea but i have a great view of the shed roof from the dining room table

i think i will just have to hope my friend wants to babysit it in her garden

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 27/04/2010 17:29

Yes, good idea. Rotting animal is not a nice smell!

Fruit salad

rice cakes with philadelphia, chutney and salad

3 spoons red cabbage coleslaw

lentil soup

I am worried about the lag from food extravaganza so am trying to be v strict for two days.

I am having a nightmare trying to get the mastic [sp?] off an enormous old china sink. This is to be my herb garden and I have loads of herbs lined up waiting to be planted in it so it needs doing but my god it is a boring job. I can't wait to have loads of herbs growing outside the door. It's annoying buying those silly pots from the supermarket, they never last.

Guadalupe · 27/04/2010 17:31

I am beginning to wish I had bought a different sink without mastic. I was given this but they are not very expensive at the auction. Oh well. My arms need a bit of toning.

pointydog · 27/04/2010 17:36

guada, what an interesting ring story. Didn't anticipate the juice man intervention. Glad you got refund.

Shrews are really quite pretty, aren't they. Hope it was asleep-dead rather than squashed-dead. Yes, ask your friend to rot it. I would be interested to see the skeleton too.

lol @ fotherington thomas activity. I LOVE those books

Groan @ mastic old sink job. I couldn't be arsed but will prob be worthwhile

pointydog · 27/04/2010 17:38

so far

weetabix with milk
o juice
banana
lentil + veg soup (darn salty, don;t know what stock cube - or how many - the cook is putting in there)
weedy salad sandwich
apple

5 so far. Looking ok.

I still weigh 11 st 2 which I am pleased about after curries and tom thumb drop overload. So lost 6lb since start.

elliemental · 27/04/2010 17:44

is weedy salad a salad with things like nettle and dandeliona nd chickweed?
Or is it just an uterly wedey lunch option, chiz chiz?

what on earth is mastic on a sink?
Can't you leave it?

pointydog · 27/04/2010 17:47

yes, weedy did come from molesworth-memories!

Guadalupe · 27/04/2010 17:49

lol at weedy sandwich

Mastic is the thick white and now mostly yellow glue that it would have been stuck to some worktop with. It looks awful and manky so it must come off.

Guadalupe · 27/04/2010 17:51

the top peels off quick enough but it leaves s foamy underneath that has to be scraped off bit by freakin bit.

pointydog · 27/04/2010 17:52

can't you get some special dissolving stuff for it, like you get for that bathroom sealant stuff. Is that mastic too?

Guadalupe · 27/04/2010 17:56

I asked the builders that as they are doing something roound the front and they said no and gave me a stanley knife which was blunt and I had to use my paring knife. V annoying.

I will stop taling about it now as I fear it is in the realm of crackers and railings!

pointydog · 27/04/2010 17:57

I would ask b&q rather than your builders

elliemental · 27/04/2010 18:11

aaahh yes, boiled up horse-bones glue...I had a similar time with old lino on top of nice floor tiles once. Didn't know it was called that.

pointydog · 27/04/2010 18:23

Just had my tea, talking of horse bones. So add:

half corn on teh cob (sans buerre!)
mushroom tortelloni with some pesto (but no cheese!)

to my earlier list:

weetabix with milk
o juice
banana
lentil + veg soup (darn salty, don;t know what stock cube - or how many - the cook is putting in there)
weedy salad sandwich
apple

and my portions are up to 7 at least

CoupleofKooks · 27/04/2010 19:17

god all hell broke loose here in last hour
just bracing myself to go up for bedtime (dp holding fort admirably)
the mastic sounds very tiring guad, i admire your persistence, i would be faaaaar too lazy

OP posts:
pointydog · 27/04/2010 20:21

I have been mario karting, slightly addicted. dd1 finally recovered from migraine (had to whizz home, pack her up in bed, then whizz to work again) so decided to thrash her at the Kart.

CoupleofKooks · 27/04/2010 20:50

cereal, raisins, pear, banana, melon, pineapple = 4

crumpet, pear = 1

another scooby sandwich but this one had healthy stuff in: avocado, cream cheese, cucumber, tomato = 1

chocolate

mixed dried fruit, apple, banana = 2

roasted veg (mushroom, onion, parsnip, pepper, aubergine) and bulgar wheat = 2 or 3

yay that's 10
shitter of a day though and mostly due to me being grumpy in the afternoon
we saw a swan's egg though
and ds2 had his nappy off all day and managed to take himself to potty loads of times, i just stayed out of it mostly
the rug is not quite so fresh as it once was though

OP posts:
elliemental · 27/04/2010 20:53

Sorry you've had a shitty day CoK. Be kind to yourself, you don't get much sleep or much time to yourself...

I have redsicvered the little bursts of joy which are frozen grapes.
I am craving frozen things as throat is sore still.
I don't wanna go work tomorrow. But I must.

TigerFeet · 27/04/2010 21:18

Wow you lot have been busy, I liked the tale of Guad's ring () but not so keen on the taming of the shrew

I have hardly been online in aaaages, not really sure why, rl is v busy atm but not in a particularly interesting way, just in a spring cleaning and child wrangling kind of a way.

Aww Ellie is the cider vinegar not helping

granola & dried fruit (2)
OJ
couscous with roasted veg (3)

god that's crap isn't it???
