For people who like to eat a lot of fruit and veg but also need to lose weight. We suggest 10 portions of fruit and veg a day, plus at least 10 mins of extra exercise. Weigh in day is Monday. No Atkins stuff or anything like that please , just healthy eating and exercising.

i got really excited and rushed out of bed as there was something legitimate it could have been which would have meant really good news

morning fruity bitches, (Yay! Franny is In The Zone!)

Legs feel really stiff this morning. (and I too have a blister where the strap goes, agh!)

today I have apple
banana
kiwi

large smoked mackerel and chickpea salad with all manner of lovely salady bits!

Dinner will be roasted veg pasta and more salad.

exercise is limited to my 10,000+ steps but may also be able to squeeze in some low down and dirty digging action later...

elliemental · 29/04/2010 17:24

where is everyone?

{Nibbles dried mango)

TigerFeet · 29/04/2010 17:29

cake

pizza

arrrrggghhhh

badbadbad

but dd2 is being superclingy and superhungry, but only for my norks, not for food

so am craving carbs and am knackered

pointydog · 29/04/2010 17:58

no no no. Wasn't me. I have no problem with fruit. Or veg. I'd eat anything unless I didn't want to.

pointydog · 29/04/2010 17:59

Can't stand swimming- ruins my hair, makes me hot and red and dry.

Don;t mind a walk round the park or the woods. Like yoga.

pointydog · 29/04/2010 18:01

weetabix, fruit juice
banana
plain mince, half baked tater, broccoli

3 so far. Aiming for some houmus, crackers, veg for teea

elliemental · 29/04/2010 19:02

I really envy franny for her food - she always seems to have such a wide variety of things. How are you not always cooking/shopping for food?

I need your collective ideas please for not too terrible things to snack on please.
I eat fruit all the time, and I long for something biscuity or crispy sort of thing but not with a zillion calaroies or 10000g of sat fat?

Guadalupe · 29/04/2010 19:31

I have salsa and rice cakes for those savoury cravings, elli, and things like cooked chicken or turkey, maybe some toasted seeds with tamari.

I hate swimming too. I walk. A lot. That's about it. Oh and some sit ups in the evenings.

Cider

vegi sushi
tomato soup

rice cakes with phil

prawn stir fry
raspberries

mini twister

Barbara Currie yoga dvds are brilliant pointy. There's one called power packed yoga which makes you sweat and leaves you aching the next day and another with 10 minute sections so you can do quick bursts or more than one.

Tiger, I know how you feel and it's so hard not to just pig out isn't it!! (I say that like I have managed to resist. I haven't! I just eat and eat and eat til they're one, then after both of them I've had a moment of right, that's it!)

I always Guad's food Elli! And it's as good as it sounds. She made me the most devine smoked salmon bagel when I went. (She just had to throw it together as she had nothing in the fridge - twas the best lunch I've had in years, possibly ever.)

So, carrots, green beans and sweetcorn with dinner, apples and oranges for breakfast, oj. Oh and dried fruit in the most gorgeous Lincolnshire plum loaf ever It was reduced in the co-op!

I ran 4.5k yesterday and did some yoga tummy exercises this morning.

elliemental · 29/04/2010 19:58

do you think this is a good dress for me for my 40th??
dress

CoupleofKooks · 29/04/2010 19:59

tiger sometimes you just have to eat
it isn't a sin, just do what you need to do to get through the day with a small hungry milk monster

elli you must be joking - i am a shit lazy cook - and we have the same 3 meals all the time - and i have a cheese sandwich for lunch every other day - and we eat FAR too much quorn, listing is making me realise actually how poor our diet has got
but dp tells me when ds1 was little we used to eat shop quiche and crap every night, and it was only when he was about 2 or 3 that things started to come together

however the reason i am not shopping all the time is because i get a BIG supermarket delivery every 7 to 10 days
i can't face dragging the two of them round shops any more than i absolutely have to
it is grim
and i can only carry a few bags on the buggy so you have to do it all again 3 days later

ellie i really love it and it's very you, but i remember you being quite fair skinned - could the black make you look a bit peaky? ignore if i don't know what i am talking about

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 29/04/2010 20:08

for crispy biscuity snacks i think salted almonds etc are not too bad, they are quite satisfying and the fat is healthy fat
i also like cheese oatcakes
and those nice Doves farm fruity oat biscuits, they are not too unhealthy and they are sweet and comforting

or in fact just a few crisps on a plate with some fruit, i sometimes find a little portion of a few different things, makes me feel more sated than one larger helping of something

OP posts:
elliemental · 29/04/2010 20:08

I wondered that too, but my hair is very golden blonde at the minute and I am planning on wearing a lot of make up and red lippy etc. Red belt, red shoes too.

ThePinkOne · 29/04/2010 20:12

Oh wow Elli! That website had some wonderful dresses. Love the black one (but wonder if Fran might be right..) I like the rosebud one - it's on a black background too but a bit lighter/brighter.

ThePinkOne · 29/04/2010 20:16

Mmmmm. Cheesy oatcakes

pointydog · 29/04/2010 20:27

thanks pink, will keep babs currie in mind. Might do that

pointydog · 29/04/2010 20:30

ellie, wasn't it you who had a thread about a green dress? I do like a green dress. That one just looks harsher but then I don't know your colouring etc

pointydog · 29/04/2010 20:31

don;t snack!

for tea I did have 2 jacobs, sains spicy houmus (which is delish), cucumber, red papper and chezza toms

Portions = 7ish

CoupleofKooks · 29/04/2010 20:46

pointy sorry i was teasing about your fruit eating
i think there was a few months at the beginning where we just could not get you up to 10 try as we may
i was trying to do humorous exaggeration

PINK where's pink?
pink i did robcast wk 5 run 1 - wtf is happening with wk 5? a different run each day, starting with 5 min runs and ending with TWENTY MINUTES??? have they gone mad??

must say, today was pretty easy though
i really strolled it as i was worried it was going to get too hard, but it was fine, i suppose i should have pushed it a bit more really

OP posts:
pointydog · 29/04/2010 20:48

oh I see, yes yes. I am still rubbish at reaching 10 portions. i am plateauing at 7

CoupleofKooks · 29/04/2010 20:56

elli i think that pale skin, red lipstick and big bright dress thing can really look wonderful - eg Dita
but i have seen CZJ trying it and i thought she looked ropy tbh
i know your hair isn't black so i expect this is all completely irrelevant
i looked at the other dresses to see if i could spot one that was more colourful, but that's the only one with skull and crossbones on isn't it? it is very you and i think you will feel fab in it

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 29/04/2010 21:15

ellie you MUST try that dress

I am fair skinned and fairish haired but look OK in black (I think) as long as I wear makeup

thanks for kind words re eating

we have had a change in the weather today and I think it has got to dd2, she is finally asleep though now and i was catching up with the ironing but then my mum rang and we got chatting and i sat down and now I can't get up again... the iron is still on and going plink when the thermostat kicks in so at the very least I should get up off my arse and switch it off.

we are going up to my mums at the weekend, to the seaside, in the rain. tis the traditioal way to spend ones bank holidays in england after all.
