For people who like to eat a lot of fruit and veg but also need to lose weight. We suggest 10 portions of fruit and veg a day, plus at least 10 mins of extra exercise. Weigh in day is Monday. No Atkins stuff or anything like that please , just healthy eating and exercising.

''i think you will feel fab in it ''

oh bless you, you are so good at diplomancy...

I don't suit bright colours much at all to be honest.
pointy your green dress linkw was awesome, but just too many £££ with shoes etc to go wth it.

DH thinks i should go for the pirate dress. I think the giant polka dots are too much for me, ditto big flowers.
gah! I shall just fashion a frock out of orange peel and pineapple spikes.

TigerFeet · 29/04/2010 21:27

some shoes to go with your skull & crossbones dress

elliemental · 29/04/2010 21:29

[faints}

I have to be able to dance in them, you know! that's dance not just teeter t a taxi

TigerFeet · 29/04/2010 21:32

and a very shiny bag

TigerFeet · 29/04/2010 21:33

I stagger just looking at them tbh

i can't walk never mind dance in anything higher than an inch or so

even wedges cause problems

but they would look good

pointydog · 29/04/2010 21:56

yes, it was a bit pricey, wasn't it

CoupleofKooks · 29/04/2010 22:18

oh you know what i meant, we all know feeling fab is about 90% of looking fab isn't it
if you rock up wearing that and feeling the bees knees you will floor everyone

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 29/04/2010 22:18

pointy was that post meant for your OTHER diet thread

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 29/04/2010 22:22

oh no it was just me not keeping up, sorry

cereal, seeds, raisins, melon, pear, banana = 4
cheesy oatcakes
philadelphia and avocado sandwich
cheese, pineapple and coleslaw sandwich (really nice)
cookie ice cream (v small scoop)
pizza, veg sausages, broccoli, carrots = 3
orange and grapefruit segments from graze box = 1
dried fruit mix from graze box = 2
chocolate, almonds, piece cheese

graze box much improved since i keep doing the 'send soon' thing
they don't however seem to have realised that i want chocolate EVERY week not just occasionally

anyway you DO always look fab molly
dear god the more i say the worse it is sounding
you are fab and the dress is fab and i will shut the ruddy hell up before i embarrass myself further
guad will be here in the morning and say sensible, straightforward and flattering things
i am loving the idea of a 40th birthday with glamorous and funky dresses
what exactly are you doing for it? i need ideas for next year

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 30/04/2010 15:52

oh dear i have tumbleweeded the thread

been clothes shopping and bought this
i think it looks nicer in real life than it does there (i hope?)
now you can all come and say it'll make my love handles look enormous or something

i also bought a halterneck dress in h+m
this was really silly
i certainly can't wear a dress without a bra
and it is too short for me
but i liked the colour and i will keep it for a week then take it back unworn i expect

also tried on a maxi dress - not sure why - always look appalling on me - but i keep hoping
ok bear in mind i am 5 ft 9
this dress was dragging on the floor, i don't mean skimming, i mean i could not have walked in it as i would have tripped over
why would you wear a dress that was sweeping up all the fag butts and dog shit on the pavement? it was really weird

pointydog · 30/04/2010 16:10

nice dress, coK. You are obv anticipating a good summer.

Today, I forgot that I had agreed to buy one of the dinner lady's scones as part of a fundraising thing, not knowing that she would be serving them herslef at break with jam and CREAM. I had to have it. I couldn't refuse to her face. Would've been rude.

So, weetabix, fruit juice
scone (not huge) with blackcurrant jam and fresh cream (left half of the cream)
small ham and cucumber sandwich

PLus my mum has been over and has left meringues and whipped cream and strawberries and strawberry sauce for pudding.

Fear not, I shall turn that down as mum has departed

Guadalupe · 30/04/2010 16:25

I like the black dress, I like black and I think black looks good on blonde depending on shade and skin tone - I reckon you'll get the balance right, elli. Only thing I would be hesitant about would be how much wear I would get out of something with pirates on, but then, you do like pirates. Go for it.

Franny - lovely dress, again gorgeous colours. You can get one of those anyway bras for a halterneck dress and they are useful for when you want to wear something without the bra straps showing so it is a good buy.

I have a great bra that only has one thin strip of diamante along the back. I bought it for a backless dress and it has come in very useful.

Pointy - a cream scone That sounds delicious though. I love making scones but I won't atm as I like to have 2 or 3 warm from the oven with butter and ginger jam.

Tropical fruit salad
blueberry/acai smoothie

salmon and lemono pepper king prawns with mixed salad and beetroot and butternut chilli dip [very low cal for dip] from marks and spencers.

rice cakes with a bit more dip

dinner will be poached eggs and asparagus

pointydog · 30/04/2010 16:28

I've had that butternut chilli dip before. Is it lower cal than houmus? I can hardly reisst the sains spiced houmus at the mo

Guadalupe · 30/04/2010 16:44

I'm not sure how many cals are in normal houmous but on my ww tracker a whole pot of butternut dip is 3.5 points and equivalent weight of marks houmous is 9.. so you get a lot more dip, and its delicious. I keep checking it as I can't believe you get a third of a pot of dip for 1 pt.

pointydog · 30/04/2010 16:47

9?! wow

CoupleofKooks · 30/04/2010 16:49

woohoo i love cream scones
might treat myself and boys at weekend

guad i don't get on so well with bras that don't have straps - everything seems to descend downwards (like life but faster)
i don't really like my arms and shoulders much so i usually wear a little cardi - i could do that and cover up bra straps at the same time but i think the whole halterneck is in fact a mistake
h+m not really shop for overweight women pushing 40
and looked in topshop but it seemed minging? what's going on there?

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 30/04/2010 16:50

I knew houmous was a lot. The only thing making it not a dry old chickpea is oil. I don't know how much they vary between brands though.

Guadalupe · 30/04/2010 16:51

but they do have a strap round you neck?

Guadalupe · 30/04/2010 16:53

topshop is odd atm, I got quite a nice grey sweater that had an all lace back from there the other day, wore it on my anniversary with a net grey noa noa skirt and silly flowery peep toes. And the bar!

Guadalupe · 30/04/2010 16:53

bra even

Guadalupe · 30/04/2010 16:56

Have been sucked into reading the shiney/td wp threads, now there's an hour I won't get back. Odd.

CoupleofKooks · 30/04/2010 16:59

god guad i was just doing the same
not very edifying at all

erm no i have tried a strapless one - i think it is an adjustable one but i only ever tried it as strapless
i think i was thinner as i recall it being padded! so i can't try it again
i'll stick with the sensible shift dress for mature ladies, that will be best all round

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 30/04/2010 17:02

well, you will will have a lot more choice with your dresses if you try a halterneck bra . They hold you in properly! And believe me I need holding in.

pointydog · 30/04/2010 17:04

oh yes, that meet-up blow-out thread was rather entertaining for a while
