For people who like to eat a lot of fruit and veg but also need to lose weight. We suggest 10 portions of fruit and veg a day, plus at least 10 mins of extra exercise. Weigh in day is Monday. No Atkins stuff or anything like that please , just healthy eating and exercising.

I can't believe he is chatting away, doesn't seem two minutes since he was born. When is he 2?

Some of ds2's friends are starting school! They don't seem much older than him, in fact his best friend isn't even four yet. Seems madness.

I have had Rude Health muesli which was exortionately priced for what seemed like alpen with some pumpkin seeds and goji shits and it seems to have taken all my points for breakjast and lunch and where does that leave a stem ginger biscuit after music class I ask you? What a swizz.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/06/2010 19:13

So what did happen about the stem ginger biscuit Guad?!

banana
bean soup with cucumber sticks, cherry toms
2 satsumas
1/2 banana (ds's left overs)
1 crumpet
chicken fajitas with roasted onion, peppers and mushrooms.
strawbs and raspberries - again no meringue or cream. It's an absolute shit I tell you.

Probably about 9 portions.

DS and I had a glorious afternoon in the garden this afternoon. I tackled the never ending job of pulling up the nettles and ds picked the unripe strawbs (gggrrrrr)

We have so many nettles in our garden that I'm sure I could make something from them, but I just can't bring myself to eat or drink anything with nettles in, it just seems wrong.

How's the elderflower champagne Guad? I keep looking at the elderflowers in the garden and think I should do something with them, but I can't be arsed.

Guadalupe · 16/06/2010 19:49

I ate it o course

and a lot of lunch

and a jam doughnut and my tea is a henious supermarket quiche albeit with lemon courgettes and a larg salad.

I added wine yeast to the champagne today actually. There were some bubbles but I was worried that it was all looking a bit slimy and it would be a nightmare if it went off so I reckon it needs some help. Who said wee on it? Ew.

I don't know if I will do it again. Depends how nice it is I suppose!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/06/2010 20:07

Oh I love jam doughnuts. All that greasy, doughy, jammy, sugary lovliness.

Slimy and off champagne doesn't sound good, I hope it works out. I think this is probably a stupid question, but is it actually alcoholic?

CoupleofKooks · 17/06/2010 07:14

yes yes yes i am
it is ruddy difficult to do things like dentists i find
it is a bus trip away and no childcare - boys will have to sit like tweedledum and tweedledee watching me have it sorted

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 17/06/2010 08:08

Mine is miles away too. I keep meaning to change to a closer one. I used to leave dcs in the pushchair in the corner of the room and sometimes at my old dentist the receptionist would look after them.

Now they all sit on the big chair and laugh at me as I am the only one needing all the noisy treatment.

I ate quite a revolting amount of food yesterday. I am sure it is the fault of the rude muesli. If I eat a lot of breakfast I eat a lot all day. That pauper king shit doesn't work for me.

Pineapple.

CoupleofKooks · 17/06/2010 08:17

my scales still say i've lost 2 lb, in fact they are trying to claim i have lost 3 now
all i needed to do was stop running and eat magnums, obviously

i eat a humungous breakfast and it does work for me
it has to be oaty (low GI aren't they?) and have nuts or seeds in
but then i don't eat any meals like a pauper

ok my tooth is loads better
this is what happened last time i had an appointment, i think it must be shy
shall i still go? i am thinking yes but i will feel daft pitching up there saying 'well it doesn't hurt NOW but it DID hurt, ever so'

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 17/06/2010 08:54

I know, loads of people can't do without breakfast and ALL the advice is that you must eat a proper breakfast and everything, it just doesn't work for me.

This muesli was oaty, seedy, low gi wotsit and I was starving mid morning, ravenous at lunch and Henry VIII at dinner. Prob why I am not hungry this morning.

Yes, go to the dentist. It will hurt as soon as you cancel the appt sods law.

Good you have lost three. It's funny how the weight goes. I am AMAZED that I have stayed the same despite the troughing, I think I am probably due a whacking great lag.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 17/06/2010 12:17

I hope you still went to the Dentist Fra.

I watched a programme yesterday and it said that if you consumed 500 calories less a day you will lose 1lb a week

I'm now watching Mary Queen of Shops which is based in a bakers shop. Watching all of those cakes and bread is making me dribble. Jam tarts, Belgian buns, fresh bread ........... it's like baked good porn.

Guadalupe · 17/06/2010 16:24

yes, I think we forget it is actually quite hard to lose a lb

lemur, I don't think it's very alcoholic, depends how much it ferments I guess. The children are expecting to try it so hopefully it's not too strong!

pointydog · 17/06/2010 17:34

After Tuesday's disappointing weigh-in, I am looking quite good on teh scales today (and yesterday). I think the weekends are my downfall.

I'm never that hungry at breakfast time but I need to eat something otherwise I am ravenous by 9.30.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 17/06/2010 20:22

weetoflakes
bean soup, cucumber sticks, cherry toms & 2 crackerbread thingies.
2 satsumas
2 raw carrots
Toad in the hole (homemade, 2 sausages) with cauliflower and carrots.

7-8 portions I reckon.

I've got a list stuck on my fridge which details what makes up a portion of different f&v. It's actually very handy and I've referred to it a few times today

Lordy, I have been hungry today. All I have wanted to do is stuff my face with crap, but I have resisted so far. I fear an ice-cream may be in order though ...........

pointydog · 17/06/2010 21:16

weetabix and o juice
banana
small meatballs, half baked tater and sweetcorn
breakaway
2 jacobs and houmus
2 pears

  1. Summer hols approaching fast
CoupleofKooks · 17/06/2010 21:26

lemur i am noticing your impressive vegging
in fact everyone doing good
(not sure about weetoflakes though)

well i went to dentist, so need a sticker
it was hardly hurting at all but i told her all about it and she was very nice and said it may need to come out but first she would try (look away if squeamish) cutting off the flap of gum that sits half covering it
she was also nice about the antibiotics and said she would rinse it with some stuff instead for now
this involved her poking some evil swedish face hoover down in between my tooth and gum then squirting a load of bleach or something at high pressure all over the infected bits
jeez it was unpleasant
my face ached all day and i felt aggrieved
i think it has done the trick though, ruddy hope so anyway

please excuse graphic whinge but i have from it and need to offload

OP posts:
pointydog · 17/06/2010 21:27

I think I would feel sqeaky clean and free of all harmful micro-organisms after that sort of gum-flap enema. Bravo.

CoupleofKooks · 17/06/2010 21:28

cereal fruit seeds = 4
egg sandwich
mini pain au chocolat
pink lady = 1
loads of raisins and stuff from graze boxes = 2
veg fillet thing, potato wedges, cauli and broccoli in cheese sauce = 2
pineapple = 1
mulberries = 1
crisps and edam

total 11

i think i am determined to wipe out any accidental weight loss that might have occurred over the past week

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 17/06/2010 21:29

it was grim pointy, just grim
ds1 was sat watching and kept saying "i feel a bit nervous" so every 2 mins i had to give him a big thumbs up and grin convincingly

OP posts:
pointydog · 17/06/2010 21:34

lol @ grinning and upping thumbs. lolol

That is the big advantage of having the kids there. You act like a man.

CoupleofKooks · 17/06/2010 21:46

she is not cutting off the gum till next week, shall i take boys? she said it will need stitching - ds2 won't give a monkeys, but ds1 might have a wobbler

OP posts:
pointydog · 17/06/2010 22:09

It will make you super-brave. Depends how much you want to appear super-brave to teh dentist. And how harrowing it might be for ds1

CoupleofKooks · 18/06/2010 08:43

i don't want it to be at all harrowing, but i would think it might be interesting on the actual day?
getting childcare would be a bugger (actually not sure if i can get any so may as well operate on assumption they are coming, unless you all say no no it's a stupid idea)

Happy Birthday Master Avi

Sorry to hear the playhouse was shite. DH hates everything that is B&Q and Homebase, he refuses to go in there.

You should get a brave girl sticker for going to the Dentist Fra, well done.

porridge with currants
crumpet, carrots sticks, cauliflower, grapes
banana
pizza
peanut and choc cookie.

Yep, I baked more cookies today. I think I may just be a food sadist . Half of the batch are for dh and the other half for my dad for Fathers Day. My dad LOVES homemade gifts bless him.
