For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

the jury are still out as to exactly how many portions an innocent smoothie contains and i think the general consensus was that humzingers don't count but otherwise...come one come all!!!

My beach is between bournemouth and christchurch. 5 min walk from my house. We can see Swanage from there. Is fab

I love Borscht. And I bet tomato risotto is yum too. Might google a recipe for that.

dd2 is only a few days off being 6 mo
she can sit unaided, no toungue thrust reflex, good pincer grip etc etc
but she doedn't really eat as such, just sucks and squishes and plays with it
i cba with weaning. i like not having to deal with banana encrusted babies.

we should have a veggermeet at bunny's beach.

Bunny, could do the weekend before or the week leading up to the 29th but have to go home on the Friday.

Had a very nice mother's day - went to see MIL then SIL turned up and took DD for the day (I know I should want to spend Mother's day with her but I spend every other bloody day with her so the break was wonderful!) Then DS slept while we watched the racing. Child free bliss!

Shiteous F&V eating today and I ate croissants instead of going for a run - even though I was dying to go for a run. Then this afternoon it was too windy to run and now I'm on here instead of doing yoga. Gah, I'm hopeless!

Never mind. Tomorrow is a new week on my diet plan!

It's half term W/C 31st May so I could do that week, or any weekend around then really. I go back to work on 7th June

We went to the seaside yesterday. It rained. DH bitched about the weather in this country, but he's lived here for 41 years, surely he should know by now what's likely to happen if one goes to the seaside in March.

Gah! Just realised I've got my RfL 10k that weekend. So I'll be around in the week before half term.

Ran, faster than usual, but not as long or as far. Getting there though and have a plan.

Salad for dinner. Good-ish F&V day (not compared to 10 but compared to the normoes.)

i want to lose weight, and so do some others apparently
i was on cod's diet thread but i didn't quite fit
i wanted to start a 10/10 style diet thread - 10/10 isn't a diet thread - and shouldn't be turned into one IMO
i could have started a diet thread and called it something completely different, i suppose? but what is the problem?

i am sorry people are finding this odd
i think people would have found it odder if i had come back from a long break and said "i am changing 10/10 into a diet thread now"
it did not seem respectful to me to do that, obviously

plus it would exclude some people who post here, as would be the equivalent of inviting a recovered alcoholic to a piss up

fact remains, i want a thread to support me and anyone else who wants to lose weight, and i want it to be a thread where people get where i am coming from with my eating - hence 10/10 link
loads of diet threads on MN for different styles of diet - this is a new one

i understand people are concerned about TooT - me too
i don't want her to be ill any more
i think 10/10 has contributed to her problems tbh. i feel some responsibility there. i think it would have been braver to say something earlier. but i did try to help privately, as i know we all did

a diet thread would be an abysmal place for her
but other people still find such threads useful - going back to the other analogy, speaking personally as a recovered alcoholic, i might be pissed off other people are all having a lovely time together getting drunk, but i don't expect them to stop doing so in case it hurts my feelings
