For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg
here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

the jury are still out as to exactly how many portions an innocent smoothie contains and i think the general consensus was that humzingers don't count but otherwise...come one come all!!!

Lovely pics, Tiger.

No allotment here but I have a patio and potatoes to put out. However, if I am moving (to house with big garden, hurrah), I don't know if I should do the spuds in a big tub & move that or just wait.

mollyroger · 23/02/2010 19:19

mollyroger · 25/02/2010 08:40

her hair was amazing! I was intrigued by her. Seemed very young to be an accomplished cook, especially with evidence of a misspent yoof? (Bad tattoos on her wrists)

I have a horrible day at work looming, rush rush rush from one hard appointment to another with (sob) so time for lun today.
Have had hardcore bol of porridge etc. and have apple and banana to tide me over. Then straight after school, i have a flying visit from family including my sister's MIL (who is Old School Houseproud. EEEEEEK!) My house is never tidy.

mollyroger · 25/02/2010 08:41

OsmosisBanana · 25/02/2010 21:50

if so I'm doing well

SuperBunny · 25/02/2010 22:12

Yes, they are. And Custard Creams are too. So I can add 3 to my list from earlier. Yay.

I might apply for a new job. Shall I? I've already had 2 jobs and have moved house twice since July. If I get my new house (which seems likely now - they said should be sorted within 4-5 weeks, eek) and got this job (unlikely) that would be 3 homes and 3 jobs in 9 months.

ThePinkOne · 26/02/2010 08:35

I'm going to lose a stone in the next couple of months.

TigerFeet · 01/03/2010 20:47

Me too pink (Hahahahahaha yeah right)

Just an introductory session to the course, we get stuck into the titty nitty gritty this week

DD2 spend a couple of hours in the creche in the next room and was absolutely fine

I otoh jumped a mile every time I heard a baby squeak...

Good practice for both of us for my impending return to work in June

Huge improvement in the weather = me getting out walking much more

littlerach · 02/03/2010 09:07

It is sunny

My washing dreid on the line yesterday

My laptop hasn't been working since alst thursday so have been experiencing tidying house and stuff. Was quite a shock!

SB, have you decided about the job?

I have work related query too:
The post of deputy manager has come up at work. I am qualified. But I have only been in paid work there for 18 months, previously I was a volunteer. The manager would like me ot apply for it.
If I got it, we would all keep our exisitng hours and our bank staff would probably get permanent hours.
But....I would be leapfrogging other staff who have been there longer. Only one of them could apply as she has similar qualifications. But I know she wouldn't get it as she isn't willing to put in additional hours.
Do I apply? We are such a small team, only 7 of us.
If I don't apply/don't get it, then my hours in September could be cut by over half too.
I have 6 weeks to decide!!

Anyway, f&v, have been dpoing rwasonalby well - ish!

TigerFeet · 02/03/2010 10:08

I would go for it LR

Are you concerned that those you would be leapfrogging would react badly? Surely the fact that you're qualified outweighs length of service?

Sunny here too but COLD

I think the washing would probably freeze on the line

OsmosisBanana · 03/03/2010 16:27

3 miles on the treadmill of doom then had to stop due to severe boredom.

My breastfeeding presentation went quite well, my hands started shaking quite badly at the end when the computer went blank - that and having to listen to the sound of your own voice droning on... not good. However, compared to some of the muppets in my year I think it actually sounded semi professional. Seriously though, you should have heard some of the others. EMBARRASSING.

How is everyone?

SuperBunny · 03/03/2010 18:42

Go for it, LR

FrayedKnot · 03/03/2010 20:39

Hello

No hope of catching up but hope you are all fruity

I am dubious about the prawns
