Go(ji) Berry Go(ji) Berry Go, Don't Upset The Raisins - 10/10 Club - Show Me Show Me Your Fruity Moves!!!!

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg
here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

the jury are still out as to exactly how many portions an innocent smoothie contains and i think the general consensus was that humzingers don't count but otherwise...come one come all!!!

Pink? Are you home safely yet?
I want you to tell everyone how gorgeous my brownies were....

ThePinkOne · 20/02/2010 21:17

I'm baaaaaaaaack!

Oh my goodness, the brownies!! We had a wonderful time at the lovely Molly Mansion. We had homemade soup and lots of yummy bits for lunch (I very rudely invited us at lunchtime ) and MrPink and MrMoll and the children played very nicely together! And oh, the brownies and of course Molly was gorgeous as ever and her lovely boys played with the small children which is very sweet.

Thanks very much for having us.

Haven't had any meaningful amount of F&V or done any exercise for days but I'm going to have to start. I'm doing the 10k Race for Life in May! Good luck with yours OsBa!

I think I have meat issues. I read both of your descriptions of the ale stew as having beef in. Then I opened the link to a veggie restaurant. And thought, no, they said beef

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Boe-Coe xx

OsmosisBanana · 21/02/2010 09:09

Nuffink of note so far on the F&V front but am doing mahoosive roast later so shall stick em up now

cabbage
carrots
neeps
brocolli
sweetcorn
jerusalem artichokes

grapes
rhubarb
apple

9 .... not bad.

40 mins running is on the schedule but it looks alarmingly nasty outside. So I might just do 40 mins thinking about running! Just as bad IMO.

Hope everyone has a restful, pleasant Sunday. I am going to finish my presentation on breastfeeding and maybe tackle a bit of my nutritional science essay. But probably not....

Does anyone remember that story a few years ago about a woman who was breastfeeding on a park bench and a police man came over and cautioned her as someone had made a complaint? If so was it a MN story or a newspaper story? I am trying to find it to reference but cannae.

Mornin' Moll and Pink, glad you had a good day!

OsmosisBanana · 21/02/2010 09:12

Found the story, 2005, doesn't time fly...

EllieMental · 21/02/2010 10:58

morning. It's snowing heavily here today so our plans for a wholesome big walk have been thwarted. This means I have no alternative than to sit here on my lardy butt, eating the remaining brownies. And the crumpets which brave DH risked life and limb to fetch for us this morning.
Pink, this was the severe weather warning which I thought we were getting yesterday. Good job for you, innit?

TigerFeet · 21/02/2010 11:43

OsmosisBanana · 21/02/2010 15:04

Molly - you have chosen the name I would have used if I had ever been more capable of more than just beatmatching as a DJ. Freaky.

EllieMental · 21/02/2010 15:28

great minds and all

SuperBunny · 21/02/2010 15:37

I've had a lovely day out but am now knackered. F&V lacking. Might make a smoothie later.

I have Brownies too. Hummingbird cook book ones, courtesy of my sister. Yum.

littlerach · 21/02/2010 15:41

All thi stalk of Brownies

Actually, speaking of brownies and rainbows, both dds have gone on a centenary walk with their respective groups this afternoon so there is peace chez LR.

Oh and I dyed mt haior this morning, Chocolate Brown (ie) to cover the additional grey that sproited .

SuperBunny · 21/02/2010 16:07

What dye do you use, LR? I'd like to hide some grey make mine more shiny. I haven't coloured my hair for years.

EllieMental · 21/02/2010 18:51

SB - mine were hummingbird bakery ones too! (Well, made by me, but to their recipe!)

where has ds put his wallet? WHERE!!!??? Have spent at least n hour looking for it and we are all convinced it was there on the side earlier. Just there...

SuperBunny · 21/02/2010 19:10

They are delicious, Molly. And that cookbook is fab, isn't it?

When I lost my wallet, it was in a shopping bag

MayorNaze · 22/02/2010 11:22

actually has been fine, just constantly organising everybody to go here, do this, eat that etc etc etc.

my hair is currently hennad but is growing out and looks a bit patchy. apprently to dye over henna is a Big Mistake...

EllieMental · 22/02/2010 11:47

It would be rather embarrassing if a healthy-eating thread ended up being bombarded with free Hummingbird Bakery Brownies.....wouldn't it?

Harumph...
Porridge with blueberries, goki-berries and seeds [preen]
Banana

so far.

Yesterday managed 6 with sunday dinner. Does home-made popcorn count?

TigerFeet · 22/02/2010 12:11

i am sat in waiting for the gas man - no central heating

dd1 back at school after non-half term. was tempted to keep her off for another week so we could do some of the stuff we'd planned.

but am ultimately a conformist it would seem so off to school she went

home made popcorn doesn't count by virtue of the fact that it is horrid

EllieMental · 22/02/2010 12:58

is NOT horrid!
Well not if it's topped with home-made toffee sauce too

Look! A blueberry!

TigerFeet · 22/02/2010 14:15

ooh, a blueberry! how lovely!

home made toffee sauce makes it all ok

SuperBunny · 22/02/2010 19:14

I think homemade popcorn does count. Although corn shouldn't count anyway because it is a starchy thing like spuds. But if corn counts, then home-popped stuff does too. Deffo.

Um, yes, I see the blueberry, Very nice. And I think there is a grape over there >>>>> Look...

EllieMental · 23/02/2010 12:31

Apple
Satsuma
Veg soup
cherries
HUNGRY!! want cake

it is so cold out there it has given me a headache, like when you eat too much ice cream.

MayorNaze · 23/02/2010 14:21

banana
apple
salad
carrot
smoothie

hour of davina plus town with heavy bags

OP posts:
MayorNaze · 23/02/2010 14:22

OP posts:
EllieMental · 23/02/2010 16:26

oh me too Mayo. i have first earlies pots and onions to plant

And my feet are actually beginning to hurt from wearing the same boots for the last million years.

And all my warm coats are black and I feel like a scruffy, haggard crow.

I bought a bowl of grape hyacinths though for inside which is a little cheering.

TigerFeet · 23/02/2010 18:03

No allotment here but I love pottering in the garden and it's too cold and boggy atm. I am going to force myself out on a good long walk tomorrow regardless of weather, I am feeling the effects of being too long indoors. Definite apathy kicking in here and I want to pull myself out of it before it gets any worse.
