For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Halloumi wasn't too squeaky but speed is of the essence.

JustineMumsnet · 25/03/2009 20:42

Look you coconuts there is no conspiracy here. This is precisely how Mumsnet has evolved over the centuries - folks start finding common interests, come up with a silly names for them, about four years later we notice them, have not a clue who their Leader is but nevertheless invite them to enjoy a topic of there own. It's precisely (more or less... well not really that precisely I suppose but a bit like) what happened with Big/Slim/Whatever weight loss, AIBU, ChickenKeepers, Good Housekeeping, The Fly Threads (oops we haven't done that one yet). In other words you are all the Leaders and we, MNHQ, are your humble followers.

But naturally if you'd like your leeks and mangos to be strewn around the cold sores, warts and impetigo of the general health boards, we would not dream of disentangling them.

BBBee · 25/03/2009 20:45

lol

I was putting the conspiracy theory about, but only for sport, sorry. I thought we could make it a bit more dramatic, that was all.

BBBee · 25/03/2009 20:47

to be honest justine 10/10ers are fucking nuts. i would not try and converse with them if i were you. just ban them all.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 25/03/2009 20:47

you crack me up BBBee

OP posts:
BBBee · 25/03/2009 20:47

it is all rather unhinged.

pinkspottywellies · 25/03/2009 20:47

Maybe we could go in mental health? [flippant and inappropriate]

BBBee · 25/03/2009 20:48

100 - your book is very good. i have written you a proper letter in ink and sent it to the publishers.

pinkspottywellies · 25/03/2009 20:48

Definitely ban BBB.

BBBee · 25/03/2009 20:49

what is this about you all being ill? who is ill?

can you really not manage without me?

ahundredtimes · 25/03/2009 20:50

Have you? Have you really? How completely lovely. Please don't tell me you are lying. I love getting letters - how did you know? I would have sent you my address though you know.

BBBee · 25/03/2009 20:52

i sent it to the publishers so we could be all proper like real life people. i put my real name and everything.

i do that often with books i have read that i have liked. well i have done it three times before but i think about doing it a lot.

ahundredtimes · 25/03/2009 20:54

Thank you. God, how lovely. I'm very excited. i will write back to you. We can be pen friends. I shall perfume my letters and write in violet ink and enclose pressed flowers and things like that.

I am voting with BBee because she's written me a letter. I am saying the same thing on two threads, and now I'm going to watch The Apprentice.

Guadalupe · 25/03/2009 20:59

Ah, how sweet. I like proper letters.

I have a friend who writes me proper letters with ink on a typewriter. She runs a bookshop in a green house at The Wapping Project in London, and she writes to me when there are no customers, whch is quite often as it's bloody freezing apparaently despite the woodburner.

FrayedKnot · 25/03/2009 21:35

SB's list is mindbogglingly great isnt it.

I don;t think I've eaten so many different meals in my life.

Tatties I also find DS likes the help yourself suppers - wraps are a big fave in our house. And making pizza is great fun - making the dough and then put the toppings in different bowls so everyone chooses and assembles their own pizza?

I would like to see a healthy eating or even healthy living section where 10/10 could reside but not a section just for our thread.

I think.

womblingalong · 25/03/2009 21:55

OOhh, our own topic, how exciting to be asked.

I see the view seems to be no, my two pennorth is yes, as part of a healthy living type section.

Oh, letters, I love getting letters, and used to write them obsessively when a teenager.

Boco · 25/03/2009 22:53

Yes yes yes. Yes.

I didn't even care this morning.

SuperBunny · 25/03/2009 22:57

Meerkat Manor is fab - DS got it last year and loves it. But, if you watch series 1, the beginning of the second series is a bit sad. DS didn't notice but I did.

I am not tall or angular. I am short and getting rounder. Hence bustier bust. I used to be much flatter. I will let ahundred believe that I am a looker though.

SuperBunny · 25/03/2009 23:00

i like your friend guad - does she wear a hat? she strikes me as the kind that wears a hat.

i am concerned that this own section thing is going to split 10/10 - and not even down the traditional yurt/village hall grove.

i demand people stand up and claim there position. naked and proud.

I say YES.

BBBee · 26/03/2009 06:44

'groove'

'their'

oh the shame

BBBee · 26/03/2009 06:55
