For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

i haven't listed for ages
i must focus
today was
banana, melon, strawberries, raisins
big salad - avocado, chickpeas, spinach, chinese leaf, tomatoes, cucumber
and now a hemp smoothie with banana and cacao powder
not COCOA powder did you get that? CACAO powder
who knows wtf the difference is but it costs 4 times more
so it must be good

can i have hemp powder as one of my 10? fgs it tastes like it must be the worthiest food on earth

FrannyandZooey · 25/03/2009 18:45

tatties i did read your post about liking a special section
if you search "10 / 10" does it come up ok?

TigerFeet · 25/03/2009 18:45

hemp powder? In my more carefree days I would probably have attempted to smoke it.

I had beetroot for breakfast. May I have a sticker?

Beetroot for breakfast? Deffo sticker. Where's Pink?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 25/03/2009 19:00

Beetroot for breakfast? Is that some sort of odd pg craving?!

I had the M&S veg sushi for lunch and I was v impressed. It's really filling. I felt v cosmopolitan eating it. I would never ever ever eat fish sushi though, oh no.

blueberries
banana
dried fruit
oj
carrots
celery
tomatoes

Have been a bit shit today, it's the sushi's fault, it lured me away from the usual lunch of raw veg and humous!

mollyroger · 25/03/2009 19:47

ditto

ahundredtimes · 25/03/2009 20:00

I have suggested they have a Fruit and Veg topic. I believe I may have found the middle path. I have also asked for a taxi account.

Otherwise, I don't see what the point of it is.

ahundredtimes · 25/03/2009 20:03

Honestly, we get offered a topic and now you've all got self-conscious and are listing like mad

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 25/03/2009 20:14

I say no

at 100x

i am shopping for wildlife dvds for ds1's birthday
we are just finishing Life On Earth - what else is good? maybe something a bit more fun
has anyone seen this?
or that Meerkat Manor thing?
and any children's films that are really gentle and funny and not scary?

Boco · 25/03/2009 20:16

I think yes, because it makes veg thread a permanent mn fixture, I like that. people can hide us permanently if they don't want to see us. All threads together so easy to find. Won't make huge difference generally anyway - but 10/10 is important part of mn for people who post on it, so should have it's own special fruitloop ghetto.

FrannyandZooey · 25/03/2009 20:16

Franny's completely unself-conscious list:

hemp
vitamins
fibre
hemp
lentils
quinoa
mango (cunting)
HEMP HEMP I SAY

pinkspottywellies · 25/03/2009 20:16

I've not been on MN for one day and I've missed something! What's the deal with the 10/10 topic?

FrannyandZooey · 25/03/2009 20:17

but but but
we are counter culture type thread
we don't want to be tied down by the establishment, man

pinkspottywellies · 25/03/2009 20:18

Oh good grief I see we have a sticky and everything I feel quite exposed. Will go and read.

FrannyandZooey · 25/03/2009 20:18

I DON'T WANT PEOPLE HIDING US PERMANENTLY THAT IS A DEFINITE NO FROM ME

Boco · 25/03/2009 20:18

That's right man, we want to work the establishment from the inside, erm, man.

Boco · 25/03/2009 20:20

But the people who'd hide us would hide us anyway. YES! yes yes yes. If you vote no then it's a no because everyone will agree with you, but I don't see why not.
