For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

FrannyandZooey · 08/04/2009 19:47

yes the chick pea is fine
it's that eggplant
it doesn't scan

can we just have chick chick chick chick chick pea?

TigOeufFeet · 08/04/2009 19:48

you are so much better at this than I am

you picked holes in my last suggestion and vastly improved that one too (not that it got used in the end [pout])

FrannyandZooey · 08/04/2009 19:52

no i am a fussy bugger and you know it
but you are polite

FrayedKnot · 08/04/2009 19:54

Well I can report jumping straight up and down with thighs clamped tightly together is fine.

Pear, satsuma, tomato soup, celery, carrots, peas, tinned peaches.

hotcrossllama · 08/04/2009 19:55

"there is some green veg far away .."

have you done it yet

littlerach · 08/04/2009 19:56

Yes, she's read Malory Towers.

I have a stash of Chalet School books for her next

hotcrossllama · 08/04/2009 19:56

how do you jump straight up and down with your thighs clamped

you are a wonder of nature

FrayedKnot · 08/04/2009 19:56

I like wombling's too, although I think it could be

"last night I heard my mama stringing a bean, oooeee chirpy chirpy chickpea"

FrannyandZooey · 08/04/2009 19:56

can we agree chickpea without the eggplant is a goer?

fk i am impressed

hotcrossllama · 08/04/2009 19:58

i like chickpea with the eggplant but that's a bit contrary isn't it

also stringbean

TigOeufFeet · 08/04/2009 19:59

stuffit your name has just made me snort . We saw a llama couple at the weekend at the local petting farm. They had a baby last year that died but are having another in the summer

hotcrossllama · 08/04/2009 20:03

oh dear how sad, did you tell the children?

i'm hot cross and hairy, it's, like, an aptonym, like

how's the ms, are you getting bigger?

hotcrossllama · 08/04/2009 20:05

i'll catch up tomorrow, it's late

night all x

TigOeufFeet · 08/04/2009 20:19

sleep well llama, hope you're less hot, cross and hairy tomorrow

told dd about the baby llama and she just went "oh right" , me otoh, I was almost in tears...

MS still there in the background but well controlled with demon drugs. I have a small bump that is starting to protrude through the lard. I've had a shocker of a couple of days though, like a fule I had the triple test done and it came back high risk for DS (I'm 35 ffs so what the fuck did I expect???) so I have been offered an amnio which I have refused. I'm off to Nottingham next week for a detailed scan though in the hope of reassurance. Very stressful couple of days but have pulled myself together now.

littlerach · 08/04/2009 20:22

Gosh, that is stressful Tiger.
Hope you get some reassurance.

Night Stuffit
x

womblingalong · 08/04/2009 20:32

Oh TF, sorry to hear your news, try not to get too strssed, I know it's not easy. It's a shame you are coming to my neck of the woods for such a stressful experience. When are you coming next week?

Could FB you later if you don't want to say here.

pinkspottywellies · 08/04/2009 20:43

Oh Tiger hope the scan is reassuring.

Guad, yes the trampolining was fine [pelvic floor of steel] I have to have loads of sugar on shredded wheat!

TooT sweet pots definitely count and have another sticker.

SB, just try to focus on what you'll miss about your mum! Or in fact maybe the annoyances will help with the missing her when she's gone?

Stuffit, I think I would be upset about watching Dr Who after everyone else too! When do you get it? It starts again this weekend I think!

Raisins, grapes/kiwi/nectarine, orange (mmmm, haven't had an orange for ages!), beans (on toast for lunch) Chocolate cake (too much), salad (3) with lettuce, tomato, cuc, beetroot, sweetcorn.

I bought a rabbit for tomorrows dinner Never cooked rabbit before but have instructions from the (rather tasty young) butcher for doing it in the slow cooker.

Going to see the HV in the morning for ds's measurements before the 8wk check. He's enourmous!! Will update you all tommorrow

pinkspottywellies · 08/04/2009 20:44

Where are you Wombling? Fairly close to me if that's your neck of the woods!

womblingalong · 08/04/2009 20:48

Notts Pink, are you in Lincs?

TigOeufFeet · 08/04/2009 20:49

Thanks everyone. The risk factor is 1:75 so I'm probably being all hormonal for no reason. It's on Wednesday Wombling. DH is coming along thankfully.

SB I miss my mum like mad, until I am actually in the same house as her, then she does my head in and I want to scream.

Good luck with the bunny Pink, I don't think I've ever tasted it, never mind cooked it.

My pelvic floor is definitely not up to trampolining

TigOeufFeet · 08/04/2009 20:50

There's a Vegger in Corby too isn't there? My poor brain has let me down and I forget who though We could have an East Midlands mini meet [quiche]

Boco · 08/04/2009 20:57

I think it's fairlady in Corby, i remember because my dad lives near there.

Tiger i hope you get some reassurance, will be thinking of you.

My internet only works very occasionally and it's really annoying! Some problem with the line that won't be fixed for a week.

I met up with 100x and her family today at the seaside, was very nice and we sat on the beach and children paddled and dug big holes.

TigOeufFeet · 08/04/2009 20:59

Hello Boco, how are you feeling? Last I heard you were a poorly loco.

Boco · 08/04/2009 21:01

Much better today thanks - I got a bit neurotic and decided I had ME or something as I've been sleeping 10 hours every night and needing to sleep during the day too, but I think it was just nasty virus and it's taking ages to get back to normal.
