For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

It can take weeks if you get something really nasty. DH was ill for about three months with a virus this winter. Just take it easy, don't push yourself, eat lots of mangoes, drink lots of vinegar and all will be well

womblingalong · 08/04/2009 21:09

Yes, a mini meet up!

SuperBunny · 09/04/2009 02:58

So, DS announced at his playgroup this morning, "It's ok because Daddy doesn't hit me ALL the time" but at least I have a better idea of why he has been so out of sorts this week [blub]

Stuffit, I am homesick too. And fed up of not being allowed to earn a penny, working bloody hard for nothing (all volunteer stuff) and having no social security back-up. Am ok for marmite and tea though, thanks LR

Am playing scrabble with my mum. Am trying to be nicer today. Wine is involved

TooTicky · 09/04/2009 06:52

Oh fuck SB

littlerach · 09/04/2009 08:22

Shit, SB,

Win eprob needed.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 09/04/2009 08:52

SB, TF, so sorry for you both.

I am Derbyshire!!!!

Hi Boco....was wondering how you were!

if you just put 'lay an egg-plant for me' it scans a little better

The thought of drinking vinegar makes my cheeks pucker.

Guadalupe · 09/04/2009 09:21

SB - that's dreadful, is that complete news to you? I guess there isn't exactly the opportuntity to sit and discuss parenting styles is there. How stressful for you.

FrannyandZooey · 09/04/2009 09:28

oh sb that's grim news
i am clutching at straws but hoping that somehow this could work in your favour in the long term

Guadalupe · 09/04/2009 09:32

Me too, Sb.

And good luck with your appointment, Tiger. It's all such a worry isn't it?

We are very close to the precipice, Franny.

Tatties · 09/04/2009 09:47

Yes good luck with appt TF

SB

FrannyandZooey · 09/04/2009 10:07

i'm standing on the edge leaning over, guad

tiger sorry i forgot to say, i hope your worries can be assuaged one way or another

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 09/04/2009 10:18

Lets do a thelma and louise and all jump.........

hotcrossllama · 09/04/2009 10:28

what's going on have you gone

TF I'm sorry and good luck ..is it only your age which is bumping it up.. because if so I think there is statistical reassurance: which is, when your age makes it x the nuchal scan becomes statistically hugely more significant, so if the risk drops dramatically with the nuchal scan, even if it is still quite an apparently high number, the signs in your body show that it is more than likely better than you think.

SB that's very for you, can that EVER work in the long term as fra says? Can you make notes, write things down? Prepare the ground?

hope you haven't jumped already
mitsubishi are you new, namechanger, should I recognise your style?

hotcrossllama · 09/04/2009 10:35

fran you are a rotten tease

i'm hovering

littlerach · 09/04/2009 10:37
