For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

TooTicky · 07/04/2009 18:15

Franny you dangerous woman. Don't worry about the meet up, just look after yourself. Okay? [stern]

Hello to everybody, lovely to see rare Mango.

I am so tired. Can I just ask a question?
I have leftover cauli and potato which I was going to put in pie but have not made pastry and dcs rapidly filling up on bread/cheese/fruit SO if I make it into something I will eat but they won't, is that okay?
They are not suddenly going to say ooh yummy leftover veg.

TooTicky · 07/04/2009 18:17

Franny, my dcs are eating white bread and are likely to be filling up on potato waffles. it happens, and everythjng carries on just as before.
I have never bought shop cake though

FrannyandZooey · 07/04/2009 18:17

i don't understand the question
of course it is all right you big fool

i am sorry about meet up toot but it has been hanging over me
i should have said earlier but i kept thinking i would find new vigour and enthusiasm
anyway pick on someone else to do it
i reckon molly excellent bet

FrannyandZooey · 07/04/2009 18:20

yes shop buying your child's birthday cake is really quite appallingly lax isn't it

or is it
please tell me it is
i can kid myself i am being bohemian perhaps

TooTicky · 07/04/2009 18:20

don't apologise or I will sit on your cake

TooTicky · 07/04/2009 18:21

it is surprising how many people do Franny. Even peoplewho look quite competent.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 07/04/2009 19:04

Toot....the words (when they complain about being hungry still) 'well I made something tasty and filling and YOU didn't want to eat it, so it is not really my fault if you are still hungry is it?' with a little shrug and a smile, would accidentally fall out of my mouth....

pinkspottywellies · 07/04/2009 19:16

Franny don't be silly, you don't have to organise a meet up! And dd's birthday cake last year was shop bought but I couldn't even muster the wherewithal (if that's the right word!) to buy it myself. MIL got it for me and another one (cause she didn't know which I'd like!) which I took as my buffet offering for my sister's birthday [slack]

I don't get pg carb cravings - I just go super-healthy for the first 6 months then eat chocolate and cake

I made a rather yummy pudding tonight. Really past-it stale hot cross buns, spread with chocolate spread and custard (a la bread and butter pudding). Even DH was moved to comment and he just eats food usually rather than enjoying it!

And my list... raisins in porridge, pear - quite crisp and oddly scented. They taste a bit like lavender or something , courgette frittata, baked beans. Oh dear. About 5 I think. Will have some more fruit this evening. And maybe some cucumber. Oh and I found a cucumber in the boot of my car last night. I thought it was from the shopping we got on Saturday but looking at what was in the fridge it may have been from longer ago. It's not TooT's missing cucumber is it

Friend with ds2 the same age as ds is coming tomorrow. We are going to lie on the sofa and bf (well, as much as the toddlers will allow!)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 07/04/2009 19:21

banana
dried fruit
nakd bar (2 portions so it says)
tomatoes
spinach
cucumber
peas
sweetcorn
strawberries
raspberries

lol at lieing on the sofa and bf'ing!

A pear
Big salad with roasted veg
Mushrooms and peppers on a pizza
More salad

I'm at my parents' and it's difficult to focus in someone else's house.

I may go and raid the fruit bowl.

Sorry 'bout stuff Franny.

Pink a friend of mine's DS was very sensitive to caffeine when we were BF, and chocolate also. She had to stop both for a few months. Do you like herabl / fruit teas?

pinkspottywellies · 07/04/2009 20:26

Oh and I did exercise!! I forgot to tell you I went on the trampoline for 10 minutes Not a very vigorous 10 mins but not bad for 6 weeks post-natal I thought

Thanks Franny, sling would be great. I used the double buggy agin today and dd didn't like the wind and I couldn't hear/talk to her

pinkspottywellies · 07/04/2009 20:29

FK, he's ok with chocolate seemingly which is a good job cause I would have to resort to formula before cutting out chocolate Yes I like fruit teas and hot chocolate. I actually find it quite easy to cut out tea and coffee. I only had about 4 cups of tea during the year that I was pg with dd (only pg for 9 months obv, but cut out tea and coffee from January health kick!) and cut it out again during last January's health kick!

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 07/04/2009 21:02
