For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Like the title Mitsubishi.

But not the pastry

Guadalupe · 07/04/2009 22:44

God, WW was bad, only half a pound gone in two weeks. I have hit a plateau. We went to the japanese again to cheer ourselves up. Seaweed salad, miso soup, teriaki chicken, squid, sushi, pork gyozi dumplings and eddamme beans and lots of prossecco and I felt MUCH better. Now I am eating cake.

Make life as easy as possible for yourself when things are tricky I say, Franny. Who cares where you got the cake? No-one makes cake in France do they?

Pink, were you, um, okay on the trampoline? I had an embarrassing experience on Brighton seafront not long after having ds1.

SuperBunny · 08/04/2009 01:57

I like chick, chick, chick, chick chickpea...

Sorry for organisational problems, Franny.

DS has beeen shouty today and therefore I have been short-tempered and shouty and my mum has just watched and seems to be getting DS in trouble (i.e. by telling him to do something I have just told him not to or by telling him it's ok to finish his puzzle when I clearly said it was dinner time) Grr. And the sniffing. Oh, the sniffing

stuffitllama · 08/04/2009 04:56

oh bunny .. but at the sniffing

not much to list

bunny how is the homesickness? I want to go home

i just want to go home

TooTicky · 08/04/2009 07:21

Oh stuffit

SB, that sounds super frustrating. how long is she staying?

littlerach · 08/04/2009 08:53

for our overseas veggers.

Would you like tea posted or marmite?
My SIL always wants crisps and coloured loo roll

Guadalupe · 08/04/2009 09:02

Coloured loo roll? How odd!

Sorry for homesickness that must be very hard.

I have just eaten a shredded wheat. They are left over from making easter nests and it was delicious. I haven't eaten them for years and I think they are underrated. I will probably eat them every day for two weeks and then never again.

I would definitely want marmite sending. I love it with peanut butter.

stuffitllama · 08/04/2009 09:13

ooh thanks
have gone beyond relief by coloured loo roll I think
yes shredded wheat are fine but a bit stickyinteeth no?

I want to go walking in the woods and to watch Dr Who when everyone else does and buy tremendously expensive soft fruit in the winter and send the children to the shop for milk

absolutely pathetic! I tell the children "I want" doesn't get..

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 08/04/2009 09:40

Oh SB and Stuffit.......

Am focusing today.......

I did a sleepover for DS last night (2 mates) and am strangely pleased with myself.

But tired, DD has started having nightmares and sleepwalking.

Oh I have loads of work to do, a strong coffee I think.

FrayedKnot · 08/04/2009 10:06

Morning!

SB sorry about the sniffing and fractiousness. Can you get outside today, I always think that helps when you've got houseguests and it's all getting a bit much.

Stuffit

Am just waiting for friend to come over with boys - mad trampolining session is likely - will report back Guad & Pink

littlerach · 08/04/2009 10:33

just don't do star jumps on it FK
That was my error!

When PIL were here end of last year, SIL had sent a list with them of what she would like them to bring back. It was v funny (in a nice way, as I am not making fun of her) as it was Heinz tomato soup, Space Invadors, variety packs crisps, sweets and choc, cider, Hellmans mayo and coloured loo roll.
I imagine it is more expensive, or limited availability, where they live.
One year MIL snuck bacon and sausages on the plane with her. It is a 12 hr flight
And cheese.

stuffitllama · 08/04/2009 11:47

mmm smelly

i could die for a walls banger

sorry Toot, Fran and all better people than me

stuffitllama · 08/04/2009 11:48

TooTicky · 08/04/2009 12:27

Hmm, I wonder what I would miss.

Have just had jolly letter from EWO about possible fines and prosecution resultinmg from persistent lateness.

Tatties · 08/04/2009 12:37

Hello!

Franny it's fine to buy a cake imo
I was also stressed leading up to ds's birthday and we had only invited two people! I was all set for buying one as I couldn't get my head around doing everything, but in the end was able to set aside Sunday for baking, and just chose a really simple recipe (ds requested chocolate) - but it was easier for me to do as I had dp around and ds could "help". I doubt I'd have managed it with a baby as well! I really envy people who can pull off catering and entertaining seemingly without a ruffling of feathers. Even small scale I find it very difficult. I know for a fact my ds would not have cared whether I had made a cake or bought one (as long as it was chocolate ) and that's really all that matters isn't it?

TooTicky · 08/04/2009 12:46

Hello Tatties

littlerach · 08/04/2009 12:55

TooT, is it for dd1?
They are clamping down on it so much at secondary here.
Think both school sin T are classed as Persistanet in WWC's table of attendance.

TooTicky · 08/04/2009 13:11

Yes it is.
And most of the latenesses were for Sept - Dec when shewas catching the bus, which is always late.
I know it is standard and formality but we have been through it with school.
Grump.
