I'm continuing to go 3 times a week - feel yuk If I don't!

Radley · 04/01/2006 18:10

I've not been today because I am full of cold, but I have re-arranged to go back on friday if i am well enough.

On the plus side though, this is my fourth day on plan and I've done well so far.

Hulababy · 04/01/2006 18:12

Had my induction today and have a programme to do now - lots of cardio, plus some resistance training. Lasts about 50-60 minutes the instructor reckons. Did part of it today, after the induction and it seems okay. Some of it was tough going, as so unfit(!), but just about manageable. I have a motivational chat with the instructor next Friday morning to see how it is going.

Well done you two. You will be amazed at how quickly your fitness will improve.

I'm only feeling so awful now because it's the first time I've been to the gym this week.

Screwballmuppet · 07/01/2006 20:36

Twinkie1 · 07/01/2006 21:36

Ooooo - some sad fitness freaks like me - have been going for about 4 months and run 5k everyother day - am changing shape but not losing weight - have even joined slimming world again but running makes me soooo hungry - what to do???

How have you lot lost weight at the gym???

Fauve · 07/01/2006 23:57

Mytwopenceworth, do you happen to know how widespread across the country that NHS 'exercise on prescription' is? IMHO, it would make a lot of sense for gym memberships to be on offer from the NHS - they're so expensive otherwise, and for people who have anything like a real problem with unfitness, can make a huge difference. My BIL, for example, is never going to get his health act together unless he gets some serious help with exercising - I don't think he believes he can do it. My GP offers half price Rosemary Conley classes for 12 weeks, and that's it, as far as I know - frankly, scarcely worth having, because the classes don't cost THAT much in the first place.

And, ahem, yes, I am also asking out of self-interest - my gym membership bought with Tesco Clubcard points runs out on 31 Jan

mrspink27 · 08/01/2006 00:01

twinkie - did you have weight to lose? or was it just toning and defining? i would love to run every day but a knee injury as a result of rowing prevents me doing any impact exercise, which is a complete PITA!

Passionflower · 08/01/2006 21:27

Arghhh went to the gym this evening at 7.15 - was just getting into my workout and was told that the gym closes at 8 pm on Sundays. Poo, poo and double poo.

Twinkie, havent really lost any weight 8lb maybe but have dropped a dress size. Remember that muscle is heavier than fat .
