How confident do you feel that the Tories will lose?

Do you feel confident? Going off what I see on social media, there is no way that they don't lose by a massive majority.

However I worry that this is just a small snapshot of the public and is not an accurate representation.

It really wouldn't surprise me if we don't have a Labour majority.

What does everybody else think the result will be?

I am 90% confident but there are some very odd people in the UK (who would still vote Tory no matter what) so can't be sure - also our voting system is a total disgrace, so there's that.

AutumnCrow · 23/05/2024 23:07

Very.

frankentall · 23/05/2024 23:07

One problem is percentage of votes doesn't translate to representation.

ClairemacL · 23/05/2024 23:08

I think there are a lot of shy Tories.

Clearinguptheclutter · 23/05/2024 23:08

I don’t see how the tories can win but I said that last time. They couldn’t even organise a brolly for Rishi yesterday.

I think the realistic “worst” case scenario is not that bad but that Labour is the biggest party but doesn’t win a majority, and has to enter a deal with another party, likely the lib dems. I am in favour of coalitions but accept that they don’t make governing easy.

LordSnot · 23/05/2024 23:09

Well I was very sure the last time and pretty sure before that, so clearly my sures are not to be trusted.

AmpleFatball · 23/05/2024 23:09

About 90% confident for me. If the election were tomorrow, that’d be more like 98%, but you never know what might pop up between now and then.

If Reform didn’t exist, I’d be less confident, but they seem to be doing a great job of splitting the right wing vote.

Yep, I suspect this also about people I know

A Tory loss doesn’t necessarily mean a Labour win. I think it will be a Labour/Lib Dem/independent coalition.

pinklite · 23/05/2024 23:10

I felt sure Labour would win in 2019 and look how that turned out...

MrsSkylerWhite · 23/05/2024 23:10

I worry that Labour won’t win. So many people smarter than I told me that Brexit wouldn’t happen and Trump wouldn’t win when my gut feeling was otherwise.

TheShellBeach · 23/05/2024 23:10

I'm 100% sure the Tories will be trounced.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 23/05/2024 23:11

I think coalition too. But hoping a Labour dominated one.

FFSNorman · 23/05/2024 23:11

There’s a lump of them who will continue to quietly vote Tory ‘because Labour’ - either for openly declared reasons, like Private schools, or because they’re fucking delusional sky pilots who are rabidly against them furriners and boat people and trans and goodness knows what.

Butterbeanbutterbo · 23/05/2024 23:11

After the brexit referendum I’ll never feel confident about any vote again.

pinklite · 23/05/2024 23:12

Sick of the Tory bastards and I want them out. Don't understand how people can vote for them after the last 14 years

You misspelled "women's rights".

Would be happy with Labour/Lib Dem coalition

I don't understand people saying they were sure last time. It was obvious the Tories would win in 2019.

That situation has turned on its head and it would seem extremely unlikely that the Tories can win now.

noblegiraffe · 23/05/2024 23:13

Polling data shows a clear win for Labour, and polling data is selected to be representative.

How confident do you feel that the Tories will lose?

No.i didn’t. Women’s’ rights are far far wider reaching than bloody trans.

That would be the worst outcome as far as I'm concerned.

They'd achieve absolutely fuck all except making it easier for men to become legally women.

A Labour majority would be better because the Lib Dems are fucking nut jobs.

Exactly this. A bit like Brexit, those who did vote leave, kept schtum about it.
