Is anyone else interested to see what happens here.

They are going to announce the Oscars nominations around 1.30pm today. If you are interested you can livestream at Oscar.com, Oscars.org,

I am hoping for nominations for Demi Moore and Marianne Jean Baptiste in the best actress categories, and also hoping for a few other surprises.

Thanks for the heads up about the Netflix series. Heading over there now.

To be clear the 3 part YouTuber documentary did not win any Oscar's nor is it likely too! But I enjoyed!

What I love is when you virtually have the whole cinema to yourself.

The Last Showgirl was surprisingly busy when I saw it in the end. I didn't even enjoy it!

YourAmplePlumPoster · 09/03/2025 09:59

Is it worth seeing?

I didn't enjoy it but I know people who have. I found it really claustrophobic - most of it takes place in a changing room, a casino, a dark flat.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 09/03/2025 11:18

Might give it a go seeing as I have the Odeon pass.

I want to escape with a film. I hate that feeling of being locked up. Even the film Sing Sing, which was set in a prison, was about being transported out of your own situation by art.

Sing Sing is on Prime for free.

I also saw that yesterday and didn't interest me much at all. Mildly interesting is all I'll say.

My tastes are clearly low brow as the new Netflix doc about a family YouTubers convicted of child neglect I binged all 3 episodes over 2 nights.

Shall watch "no other land" this week. Then have to wait for flow at the cinema. The 2 other short winners no idea how to watch -unless they appear on YouTube now!

Ha 😅 I watched as have musical kids..

That Netflix doc sounds interesting!

YourAmplePlumPoster · 11/03/2025 10:24

Well it's actually on Disney Plus.

burnoutbabe · 17/03/2025 19:21

Continuing my final 4 winners to watch

i am not a robot-best live short. Was on YouTube for free (legit) so just watched. Like a less interesting black mirror episode.

the short animation is also on YouTube so that shall be next.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 17/03/2025 20:01

I actually loved The Wild Robot which should have got an award.

MrsSkylerWhite · 18/03/2025 08:54

Watched Concave the other evening. Blimey, what an ending. Really didn’t see that coming!

TubeScreamer · 19/03/2025 12:00

Loved Only Girl in the Orchestra. Would have loved it to have been a bit longer.

colouringindoors · 26/03/2025 23:19

Finally saw Conclave. Enjoyed it more than I expected to! Striking cinematography and interesting insight into the process, and very believable politics. Fiennes was very good.

VictoriaSpungecake · 27/03/2025 08:07

How are you getting on @burnoutbabe?

I haven't been to the cinema much since that final frenzy of trying to watch all the movies nominated for best film. I must get back into the swing of things.

I guess this gives us a heads-up about what to watch so that we can watch all the nominated films in times for next year's Oscars ceremony. They can be relied on to choose the wrong movie. Anora, biggest load of rubbish I've seen in a long time.
