Booked to see it tomorrow and v excited!

I think we need a thread to discuss it in.

So I'm starting one now.

I reckon Iron Man retires, Cap dies 😢, Hulk and Thor survive and that they return to the point where Starlord almost has it and get him to take the stone.

Gamorra must come back and I think Loki might.

I could answer all your questions, since I saw a midnight screening, but I’m not going to spoil it for anyone.

Anothertempusername · 25/04/2019 07:59

I have a newborn so won't be able to go and see it...... I'd happily know what happens!!!

IAmNotPatientOrPregnant · 25/04/2019 08:05

I want Loki to come back. That's all I'll say.

SouthWestmom · 25/04/2019 08:20

@PaquitaVariation I'll be back after the 6pm showing tonight 😂

It's fine - there's another spoiler free thread and I've marked this one up ...
I know I will need to talk about it later

My kids are women we were lucky Dd1 is day off she wanted to go to the midnight showing but Dd2 is working and i would have dozed off and missed it Grin

sunburntfizz · 25/04/2019 09:05

Saw it last night too. Very good.

SouthWestmom · 25/04/2019 10:01

I was so tempted to go last night but I sort of wanted to string out the anticipation 😳

We went to the midnight showing and as I’ve got the afternoon off I’ve actually booked to go again in a few hours to re-watch.

It will be interesting to see if the afternoon crowd also whoops/cheers etc at the same moments!

My best YEAH! moments:
Falcon’s voice crackling over the comm
The portals opening :-)
Avengers.........Assemble!!!
Cap wielding Mjölnir.....I knew it!
All the women covering Captain Marvel as she makes the dash with the stones
“I Am..... Iron Man”
Pretty much the whole battle Grin

Proper chuckles:
“That is America’s ass”
“Honestly until just now I thought you were a Build-A-Bear”
Korg playing the video game
Asgardians chasing Rocket calling him a rabbit

Heartpangs:
The missing flashing on the screen near the beginning
Scott reuniting with Cassie
Tony talking to his Dad about his Dad
Cap and Peggy Carter
“I love you 3000”
Pepper saying “you can rest now”

BlueKarou · 25/04/2019 14:49

Just got home from watching it. Well worth the day's annual leave!

A half full medium sized screen, so some chuckles but no cheers for me.

My stand out fave moments overlap a lot with yours, @PunkRockHippy ;

  • The Women of Marvel moment
  • Any scene with Morgan in it (she's about the same age as my son so I over identified!)
  • Hulk. Just... New Hulk is brilliant.
  • The whole Time Heist... Well, the New York and 1970 bits. Just everything Cap and Tony did in that bit. "Hail Hydra"
  • I am Iron Man
  • The portals opening and everyone being there.
  • Cap and Peggy

Did the big Battle feel a bit like a rugby game to anyone else? Lots of throwing and running with the gauntlet...

BlueKarou · 25/04/2019 14:51

Oh, and that opening scene was brutal. Not a jot of easing us back into things.

I liked how a lot of the trailer clips had missed out bigger plot points, I got to recognisable bits and didn't sigh about having already seen it

PunkRockHippy · 25/04/2019 15:18

Am sitting in the trailers gearing up for take 2 Grin will absolutely be thinking of the gauntlet as a rugby ball now!

AllGoodDogs · 25/04/2019 18:11

As this is a spoiler thread can someone just break it to me now.... Does Cap live or die??????

EllieBow · 25/04/2019 18:29

@AllGoodDogs Cap lives! And dies (well not really). Perfect ending for Captain America, goes back in time and lives his days out with Peggy. Beautiful.

Absolutely loved the film, brilliant. And I'm so glad I refreshed my memory by re-watching the previous 21 films over the last few weeks Grin

PunkRockHippy · 25/04/2019 18:39

Cap lives.....he really lives Grin

Following the gauntlet in the battle can definitely be done as a rugby match. Hawkeye hands off to Black Panther....Thanos goes to tackle but he’s blocked by Scarlet Witch.....Black Panther passes to Spidey......

More people need to watch it so we can work out the time paradoxes!!!! If past-Thanos is dusted in the future/post-snap present, does that mean there’s an alternate reality where the first snap never happened?

Is there also an alternate reality where Loki nicked off with the tesseract at the end of the avengers (and is that his rumoured tv series?)

What happened to Gamora? We last saw her in the women of Marvel line up (I think) and fighting with the Avengers in the battle.... but then Quinn is searching for her and there’s no results.....?

Janedoughnut · 25/04/2019 18:49

I only want to see it if Loki is in it.??

Janedoughnut · 25/04/2019 18:50

Is Loki in it?

Janedoughnut · 25/04/2019 18:51

Oops I thought the first one hadn't loaded!

PunkRockHippy · 25/04/2019 18:53

You get to see some past versions of Loki, one very briefly, the other one gets a few good lines in and is still up to mischief :-)

Janedoughnut · 25/04/2019 19:00

Ooh that sounds good. Is it worth seeing just for Loki though?

EllieBow · 25/04/2019 19:03

Yeah I like how there are alternative versions of Loki and Gamora out there somewhere.

EllieBow · 25/04/2019 19:05

Well, Loki is only in about 5 minutes worth of the film. If you really only to want watch it for Loki, then it's probably not worth it.

But you go to see it because it's brilliant!

PunkRockHippy · 25/04/2019 19:05

I don’t know, I loved pretty much every minute of it :-) but it is 3 hours long and Loki is really just an incidental sidebar (or perhaps setting up something else for the future, fingers crossed!). I’m a Loki fan though and was very happy to see him.

For others who have watched it.....thoughts on how they’ve handled Thor in this film? On reflection I actually find it quite insensitive from a mental health perspective, especially the cheap laugh at the fatty bits.
