Booked to see it tomorrow and v excited!

I think we need a thread to discuss it in.

So I'm starting one now.

I reckon Iron Man retires, Cap dies 😢, Hulk and Thor survive and that they return to the point where Starlord almost has it and get him to take the stone.

Gamorra must come back and I think Loki might.

Dd thought Thanos looked like shrek when he was on his farm planet 😂

PatriciaHolm · 26/04/2019 17:11

Ha, I've just had exactly that conversation with DD, Mrsjayy! She was talking about "the shrek bit" and I was most confused.

LOVED it. Might have to go back and see if it in 3D this weekend ....

Mrsjayy · 26/04/2019 17:16

Shrek bit Grin I think we are going to go back and see it again maybe in a couple of weeks

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 26/04/2019 18:50

I bloody loved it. 3 hours flew by.

I want Korg to have his own show. He is fab. Loved Thor and Rocket, and the Build A Bear line. In fact, lots of laugh out loud lines.

I didn't cry, but there were a couple of damp eye moments towards the end.

I also got very distracted when Thor and his mum were talking, thinking I recognise those pillars: Durham Cathedral! I have stood just there, but sadly without Chris Hemsworth.

I loved the credits as well.

RedForShort · 26/04/2019 18:54

Ds wants to go back with his dad. Not sure it's wise as he (the dad) might never recover from black widow dying.

SouthWestmom · 26/04/2019 18:58

I might watch infinity wars and then go back. You lot are making me like it more

Booked for Sunday!! My 10 year old was complaining today that someone at school spoiled it and told him black widow died. I asked him who he thought that was, and he said "the dude with the arrows" so I think he's still safe Grin

Can I just say...

My only disappointment is I do think they might have squeezed in a Heimdall cameo. When Thor was in Asgard why couldn’t they just have him in the distance or something?

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 26/04/2019 22:12

Totally read the first word in the title of this thread as : Edamame. 🤣
As you were.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 26/04/2019 22:49

Saw it Thursday and loved it, seeing it again tomorrow. It has plot holes and flaws but for the most part I’m willing to ignore them. However...

My big disappointment is they didn’t have a moment between Steve & Bucky. As much as I love Peggy, we all know who the real love of Steve’s life is, right? Wink
Even as just friends, they’ve spent 4/5 movies building up their relationship and emphasising how much Bucky means to Steve, how he’s willing to lie for him, cover up a lot of shit for him, nearly die for him and almost let him murder him to try and bring him back to himself. Hell, I’m convinced the reason why Steve was so adamant about bringing everyone back was because of Bukcy’s “Steve?” moment in Infinity War. So why didn’t they have a scene of them reuniting and Steve saying goodbye? Massive mistake that they didn’t acknowledge this, despite giving us the happy ending that Steve deserved.

PunkRockHippy · 26/04/2019 22:55

I think Bucky knew Steve was going to stay with Peggy. Steve had the idea before he left - from seeing her during the time heist - and could have told Bucky of his intention before he left.

When he doesn’t reappear on the quantum platform, Bucky knows to look around and spots him sitting on the bench. And the way he encourages Sam to go to him - I think Steve & Bucky had already had their goodbye offscreen, just not told anyone else.

NotDavidTennant · 26/04/2019 23:02

Dd says that Bree Larson scenes were cut based on feedback from the first film and also her like ability factor.

That seems unlikely to me as Captain Marvel only came out a couple of months ago and they wouldn't have had time to do any reshoots or make any big editing changes to Endgame.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 26/04/2019 23:06

I think Steve & Bucky had already had their goodbye offscreen, just not told anyone else.

True, but I’m annoyed that they didn’t show this, given the massive emphasis they’ve had on their relationship and how much it meant to them. Feels like a cop out to me given that they’ve spent several films building the bond between them. They could have had included something, anything about it and I would have been happy

CarolDanvers · 26/04/2019 23:06

I love Captain Marvel (see my name!) I don't understand why she supposedly wasn't liked or reshot or whatever. In the trailer she appears and says "where's Nick Fury?" I wish we'd seen that. I don't think her arrival was explained properly.

PunkRockHippy · 26/04/2019 23:08

Maybe we will see it - could be a cameo for Chris Evans in the Falcon & Winter Soldier tv series :-)

CallMeCarolDanvers · 26/04/2019 23:10

I also feel there was far too little of Captain Marvel.

I thought only Thor could use his hammer? As a pp said, there is a bit in Age Of Ultron near the start, in the party scene, where Cap tries to pick it up and it subtly twitches, almost subtle enough that I thought I imagined it.

I enjoyed it but the timelines are Messed Up now!

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 26/04/2019 23:10

CarolDanvers When I left the cinema I did think to myself ‘Did I dream it it was there a scene where she turned up at HQ?’ I would have liked more Captain Marvel and the explanation for her saving Tony

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 26/04/2019 23:12

Maybe we will see it - could be a cameo for Chris Evans in the Falcon & Winter Soldier tv series :-) 😮 Don’t get my hopes up 😂

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 26/04/2019 23:15

PunkRockHippy Although I would watch the shite out of a Falcon&Winter Soldier TV series, especially if it was an hour of them snarling at each other 😂

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 26/04/2019 23:15

Snarking not snarling. Although, either way...

PunkRockHippy · 26/04/2019 23:20

I’d def liked to have seen more of Captain Marvel. It’s completely plausible that she’s off elsewhere in the universe and if she was around too much then she would just make everyone else pointless. But it would have been nice to have her there more for the non-action bits, see her interacting with the other Avengers when they’re not in acute crisis.

I wonder whether/when we’ll see her again. Did Bree Larson sign a multi-film deal?

jessicawessica · 26/04/2019 23:21

EndGame was filmed before Captain Marvel, but Captain Marvel was released before Endgame.
The feedback /response from viewers regarding Captain Marvel resulted in some Captain Marvel scenes ending up on the cutting room floor.
It seems she wasn't popular amongst a lot of viewers so many scenes with her in in Endgame were cut.

jessicawessica · 26/04/2019 23:22

This probably explains why her scenes in Endgame appear clunky.

MrsPlesWearsAFez · 26/04/2019 23:25

As someone currently 'doing a Thor' (albeit for different reasons), I found his portrayal in this one relatable.

I thought the film was a really fitting end to the series. Not in a huge hurry to watch it again though as it made me cry!
