Booked to see it tomorrow and v excited!

I think we need a thread to discuss it in.

So I'm starting one now.

I reckon Iron Man retires, Cap dies 😢, Hulk and Thor survive and that they return to the point where Starlord almost has it and get him to take the stone.

Gamorra must come back and I think Loki might.

Just been to see it again! It's even better 2nd time around as I noticed bits I'd missed first time.

When they leave for the Time Heist, Nat says "see you all in a minute" 😪

And the moment where Tony and Pepper are fighting/flying in unison. I missed that in the first watch, thinking it was Rhodey.

There were so many brilliant moments. I think Tony and Peter moments are my fave I love those two together. But I loved "on your left" it gave me shivers.

Bucky knew Steve's plan before he left to return the stones. I know some feel they should have had their goodbye on screen, but it would have spoilt the surprise part of that ending, but Bucky knew and I believe he and Steve has decided together that Steve would pass the shield into Sam.

Mrsjayy · 27/04/2019 16:36

I think seeing it again would be better I felt like i was battered in the face by it all it was all too much Sad

MsMarvellous · 27/04/2019 17:52

I know what you mean @Mrsjayy. I still
Feel wrung out by it all a day later.

ShowOfHands · 27/04/2019 18:31

I saw it today.

Scarlet Witch was brilliant.

7yo DS cried so much that the woman next to us had to give him tissues. I cried from the point Cap tightened his shield. I need to see it again.

ShowOfHands · 27/04/2019 18:32

Gutted they couldn't being Vision back.

CallMeCarolDanvers · 27/04/2019 18:39

Apparently in The Winter Soldier, they show an interview with Peggy Carter from the 50s where she talks about a mystery unnamed husband who she had 2 kids with. He was apparently someone Steve Rogers saved during the war. So maybe she was always married to Captain America? Maybe him going back didn't fuck the timeline too much because he should have always been in that timeline growing older?

Morgan12 · 27/04/2019 19:00

Spiderman turns to dust, comes back 5 years later and yet he is still in high school. That's annoying me so much.

But it was an amazing film and I'm in bits right now 😭😭😭

fourquenelles · 27/04/2019 19:44

Peppers words to Tony as he was dying were almost identical to those I said to my late DH as he was dying - "we (the kids and I) will be OK, you can go now". Found it very hard to hold it together at that point.

The rest of the film was amazing and 3 hours whizzed by. I will need to see it again so I can catch all the detail I missed in the first viewing.

Mrsjayy · 27/04/2019 19:47

I thinkP P needed to go back to school after his dusting he hadn't graduated Grin a coincidence his buddy was also dusted and brought back.

Mrsjayy · 27/04/2019 19:49

fourquenelles I posted at the same time as you didn't mean to be so flippant I'm sorry about your husband

fourquenelles · 27/04/2019 19:58

Mrsjayy I was a being a bit heavy for this thread so no worries. It just took me by surprise.

MidsomerBurgers · 27/04/2019 20:02

Have you guys seen the Thanos thing on Google?

Google his name, put the sound up and click the gauntlet by his name (top right of the screen).

Mrsjayy · 27/04/2019 20:09

It must have been a sharp intake moment Fourquinelles and no you were not to heavyfor the threadFlowers

Mrsjayy · 27/04/2019 20:10

Somebody sent me the gauntlet thing today

SherlockSays · 27/04/2019 20:13

Why couldn't they bring Loki back .. it's all I was hoping for really!

But otherwise, it was brilliant. I cried from the Soul stone scene pretty much.

Can't say I was impressed with Thor though, I much preferred him in Infinity War.

ILoveYou3000 · 27/04/2019 20:20

@Morgan12 the dusted ones didn't age, they came back as they were when dusted.

sakura06 · 27/04/2019 20:45

I did like it, but I felt a bit flat afterwards somehow. It didn't help that the people sitting next to me were talking at the start Hmm I was surprised that more key characters didn't die. I'm glad I know the story, but I'm not sure I'll re-watch.

I was also quite confused by the time travel, in that if they returned all the stones to their original timeline then Thanos would still gather them and click, but I suppose that wouldn't stop the Avengers undoing that again in the future. I also didn't understand how if Captain America had lived a full life he hadn't undone his involvement in all the other films. Also, Nebula killing her future self caused questions!

I liked seeing all the women of Marvel, but wasn't sure Captain Marvel needed anyone's help after she'd just destroyed Thanos' spaceship singlehandedly!

What do you think happened to Loki when he vanished with the Tesseract?

SouthWestmom · 27/04/2019 21:05

@fourquenelles I'm sorry that must have been difficult

I'm going to see again I think

OP posts:
ShaggyRug · 27/04/2019 21:08

In the film they explain time travel as it works for them.

If you go into the past, that becomes your future but doesn’t change what came before it.

I think Loki’s time line split when he disappeared with the tesseract so there’s another timeline where Loki lives. Great for possible future films/shows.

poorbuthappy · 27/04/2019 21:17

Ok so after seeing it last night and then talking about it with friends today this I don't get... infinity way end credit scene. Call CM. CM end credit scene turn up where's Fury....
The lead up to CM being pivotal in this film is totally set in stone

And then she's not.
Total let down.
Delete both end credit scenes above and bring out CM film after Endgame

That's why I'm disappointed in this endgame.

ShaggyRug · 27/04/2019 21:31

She was pivotal I thought. Without CM Tony would’ve died in space at the start.

JustLooking2019 · 27/04/2019 23:55

Can someone remind me what the “to your left” bit was?

Saw it today, loved it but definitely want to see it again before DVD so I can get my head around it all.

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 28/04/2019 00:45

@JustLooking2019 that was to signify that the rest of the avengers had arrived to help Captain America.

Just come back from seeing it. I knew someone died, I expected it to be CM and/or Tony Stark. The bit with Pepper really got me.

I'd seen loads of people posting about how emotional it was and how much they cried and I felt like a bit of a heartless cow, I didn't really cry at much. There were a lot of tender moments which were nice. The bit with Dr Strange and Tony Stark with the 'one' finger got me when he died.

I too can't seem to wrap my head around the fact Thanos was nearly beatable WITH the gauntlet in IW by the Avengers but with double the army and CM they couldn't have polished him off before he even had a chance to get the gauntlet.

Generally it was a good end to the MCU original avengers. Weirdly I was quite underwhelmed, coming after Infinity War which I thought was incredible. There was just something that didn't feel right with the pacing during the film and I could see where it was going to go. Maybe I need to see it again.

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 28/04/2019 00:49

Oh, two things I didn't like - Hulks character. I thought he was rubbish in Infinity War and I couldn't stand him in this one. He just seemed like a token joke except it wasn't funny, I felt like he was light relief to the younger audiences (dabbing, social media etc) but it just fell short with me.

I really found the women of Marvel scene really cringe. I'm a woman, and really, I didn't need that to know they were strong and far more capable than their male counterparts. I just didn't need it. I understand the relevance in today's climate but I just felt it was a hit cheap.

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 28/04/2019 00:57

Another thing - why did everything look so desolate right at the start? Surely in 5 years people would rebuild, not leave zombie towns and cities.

And how would the world address 3 billion people suddenly reappearing 😂
