I strongly suggest only reading the first para.

This is a mild mannered researcher, highly educated, appeared to be an animal lover. Featured on programmes with David Attenborough.

In his free time liked to torture animals for sexual kicks.

He says: "Adding that his family was not aware or involved in any way, he wrote: "I will seek long term treatment and... I will find a path towards redemption."

Still blaming others, not taking responsibility for his choice.

This case to me shows how impossible it is to "pick the right man", and what annoying thing that is to say to abused women. And also that these men systematically blame their abnormal sex drive on an "illness" or addiction, rather than facing up to the fact they can control their penises.

I don't know what the answer is. I wish he was never getting out of jail.

Adam Britton

Adam Britton: British croc expert jailed for sexual abuse of dogs

Adam Britton pleaded guilty to 60 charges, which also included four counts of accessing child abuse material.

This is one of those occasions where I’d like to see real justice; I’m imagining him meeting the same end as Ramsay Bolton in Game of Thrones… torn to shreds by a pack of very hungry hounds.

Love it 🖤

How do we square off these feelings about men with our beautiful sons.. just keep raising them healthily I guess

Which plenty of women? There is a very small number of sexually sadistic women, admittedly they tend to be more inventive than their male counterparts, and their victims possibly more damaged, but their numbers are very small.

I mean the prison population in each estate the WORLD OVER makes that a lie.

Unless literally millions of women are doing sadistic shit and somehow getting away with it.

Waitingfordoggo · 08/08/2024 21:52

Of course women aren’t ’innocent little angels’- such hyperbole.

I think you’d be hard pushed to find one that would sexually abuse a lizard though. Or abuse animals on such a scale as seen in the case the thread is about.

I could be wrong though.

Superlambaanana · 08/08/2024 22:10

@Tulip2478 are you really, really??!!!! derailing this thread of all threads with 'women are just as bad as men'?!! FFS the mind boggles with people like you.

This is one of the reasons men get away with so much evil, there are always stupid people saying, oh no, women are just as bad. 🙄

Superlambaanana · 08/08/2024 20:50

FFS there is always someone isn't there?!

"women learn to curb their sadistic tendencies in the bud"

Women do not have the sort of sadistic tendencies that men have!!!!

How do you know? I was a very aggressive child. Perhaps I would grow up to be properly violent if I was a boy. We'll never know.

I can't prove to you it's not social conditioning, but I think it's pretty obvious that aggression escalates.

"Mr Britton's lawyer argued his offending was driven by a rare disorder causing intense, atypical sexual interests."

A 'rare disorder', aye?

Absolute monster.

So here is the thing. Its one thing to have these urges and thoughts - the disorder. But you always get to choose what you are going to do about your thoughts and urges. This kind of argument avoids all responsibility and tells you all you need to know.

There was a woman or women involved in the case of the torture of monkeys- I think that was what was being referred to.

I remember this. But it was done for money and content I think, not sexual kicks. There may be women into bestiality, but have never heard of one in real life. Even when women are in videos like this, it seems more for men to consume.

I would really challenge that this is a sexual thing in any case. If that was true he may have sex with them (not that this would ever be acceptable) but not torture them to death.

Vile man. I would like to lock him in an enclosed space with a bunch of dangerous dogs.

Nonsense. Female serial killers, for example, are almost unheard of. It's not a competition for who is most likely to be violent and cruel, but if it was, men would win by a wide margin and you know it.

The title of this thread suggests no such thing.

Sickos like this get sexual pleasure from killing as well as from torture.

AutumnColours9 · 08/08/2024 22:51

This case has upset me so much. I mistakenly read too much and have been sickened since. What an evil sick man. That poor mother dog. He should get life.

Superlambaanana · 08/08/2024 22:57

@whatwouldAnnaDelveydo re read your own post and tell me you're not talking nonsense. I know women are less violent and sadistic than men because our prisons are full of violent and sadistic men.

GingerBeverage · 08/08/2024 22:59

I would take heart that there is a community of people out there who, gritting their teeth, monitored this man until he made a mistake, then pounced and exposed him.
It’s only a “clue” when someone is looking for it.

They did the same for the monkey torturers, which I do not believe the BBC ever acknowledged.

So hats off to them, braver souls than mine.

Do you understand how social conditioning works? Doesn't sound like you do. But that's fine, I'm not here to educate anyone.

Yes, I would argue that it is about something else at that stage, not really about sex. Any sexual thrills would be secondary, not primary, iyswim.

Edited to say that it doesnt excuse it of course. But I think the motivation is different. But because the patriarchy says that men cant help their sexual behaviour, it gets dressed up as primarily sexual, rather than just primarily cruelty.

If I remember correctly, Kiwi Farms users played a part in discovering this man's identity and in documenting evidence of his activities and, in contravention of their usual rules, they reported him.

A few years ago I read that this is a job that people have - I think in Germany. They investigate images of CSA and look for defining features on the man’s hands or body and try to get a rough location by things in the background, and they try to reconcile all the information to get a match. I think they’re relatively successful.

This is an extreme case and it’s completely wrong to suggest that a common trait in men is to behave like this. I accept that when truly terrible crimes are committed it takes everyone by shock, but the Not My Nigel crowd (as they’re referred to here) generally come out in response to men who everyone can see are a waste of space - neglects his kids, treats his partner like shit, has multiple kids by multiple women, drinks too much, takes or sells drugs, doesn’t work etc.

Rincewindswind · 09/08/2024 08:15

He was 13, by his own admission, when he began abusing horses.
I am trying to equate his actions with the only other 13 year old I know. Don't misunderstand me, she can be very angry and inflexible times. But never in a month of Sundays would this even be a thought in her head 🤷🏻‍♀️
He is, and will remain, a repugnant little man who is a danger and should have been kept locked up for the good of animals and humans alike.

Yes, that's true. The Farmers hate both child abuse and animal abuse and the fact that they archive all the evidence that they dig up is so vital.

This is the problem with men

There is a website and I forget where that shows some items (minus the background obviously) that are rare, distinctive, unusual, for people like us to look at and see if we know or have seen those items.
Last time I looked it was clothing and pictures from walls and similar.

In fact if someone has a link, I'll start a thread and see if we can do some good out of this .

I'd Google but no idea at all what it's called. And no one needs that search on their phones.

Newbutoldfather · 09/08/2024 08:54

A small proportion of men are sadistic and perverse.

An even smaller, but non zero, proportion of women are sadistic and perverse.

Generalising from either of the above to the sex as a whole is neither logical nor useful.

That wasn't my intention to derail the thread. Yes you are right there seems to be more sadistic men in the world than women. I was just pointing out that all humans can be toxic but my comment obviously upset a few people and was inappropriate.
