Just that really .. I've been struggling with depression for ages. Tonight it's bad .. After a few ok days, it just hit me tonight for no real reason. I'm sat on the sofa crying. My boyfriend went home two hours ago and has gone to bed, I've no one to talk to.

OhThatThingAgain · 30/08/2016 21:40

Hey. If it gets worse cut back down or swap. There's nothing to lose is there?

Effexor was my drug for that, I felt like I was having a private rave under the covers. Not my drug of choice lol, but if it had killed my depression I'd have stuck it out.

But insomnia, she is the queen of misery for sure!

Thecatgotmytongue · 31/08/2016 03:30

I'm awake again .. Heartburn again. I've taken gaviscon and I'm waiting for it to kick in, I hope it will anyway.

I drink the stuff out of the bottle. We're all the same. I think mine is stress related?

Thecatgotmytongue · 31/08/2016 09:18

I drink a lot of coffee (decaf) and smoke an ecig, probably doesn't help. It's like a spasm .. I don't know whether it's heartburn. It's very scary and very unpleasant.

OP posts:
OhThatThingAgain · 31/08/2016 10:05

Omg, the ECig spasm? Like a pain down the centre of your wind pipe/ rib cage??? I get that and it's not indigestion. No way, a spasm describes it perfectly.

Sometimes it happens at work (its great in meetings) and I have to hide the horrible discomfort. It's awful.

Is that what happens to you?

Thecatgotmytongue · 31/08/2016 10:07

Yes! A spasm down my windpipe or throat, that comes and goes. Is it the ecig??

OP posts:
Thecatgotmytongue · 31/08/2016 10:14

It's definitely got worse recently and I've been puffing away like mad ..

I've had it on and off for years though .. Before the ecig. But never so often or for as long. I saw my doctor and she said heartburn. It never felt like heartburn, but I took the tablets she gave me (omeprazole) , then read on here they're not great, so stopped taking them. After that I had heartburn!

So I started taking ranatidine, they help with the heartburn a little, but not with the spasms.

I'm so tired and the pain is awful, it's still coming at regular intervals.

I've had ecgs etc, my heart was absolutely fine.

OP posts:
OhThatThingAgain · 31/08/2016 10:28

It's a spasm, not heartburn for sure. I'm feeling like some kind of symptom copying hypochondriac now!

It doubles me over, it flipping hurts. I used to get it occasionally when I smoked (put it down to caffeine and fags) but now with the ECig it's a daily thing. It really hurts!

Thecatgotmytongue · 31/08/2016 10:38

Horrible!

It's finally fading a bit .. I've had some porridge and I'm staying away from the ecig and coffee today, to see if it helps.

OP posts:
OhThatThingAgain · 31/08/2016 11:02

I'm staying off them as well. Let's see what happens. I've had toast and a cup of tea.

Got the CCTV guys drilling into my roof at the moment. Who knew they put the hard drive recording thingy in the loft.

DH has told them I work nights so they don't think I'm a sleep deprived bag lady Smile

As an aside two of my friends tried Ecigs and went back to cigarettes because of heartburn.

Might be worth a Google when I'm more awake! I'll keep you posted Brew

Thecatgotmytongue · 31/08/2016 11:06

I had a little look on Google, haven't found much yet. I'm definitely staying away from them for now though. I feel dead, so tired.

I'm not going back to cigarettes, I was on the lowest nicotine anyway, hopefully I'll be ok.

Let me know what you find out.

I'm laid on the sofa, hoping to get a bit of sleep.

OP posts:
Thecatgotmytongue · 31/08/2016 13:50

I found this .

It does seem to be a thing .. I've not touched my ecig today, but I probably need to drink more water too.

OP posts:
OhThatThingAgain · 31/08/2016 14:27

My electric Is off, because of all the camera fitting stuff going on. But hey I just slept for an hour, flat out. Not half sleep, real sleep.

More water, no ECigs, no caffeine and cameras on. Tonight is my night. I'm not going to be up and down at every noise expecting trouble. The cameras can take care of that.

Poor DH has broke too, I think he was being 'the man of the house', and has realised that despite the fact we're natural insomniacs we've been driven over the edge.

There is deffo something in the ECig thing, I need to investigate when I've got some charge on my phone. We are not the only ones, I was using 0.6% nicotine which is the lowest. But gosh the heartburn, windpipe, chest spasm pain thing must be related. Let's investigate Smile

Thecatgotmytongue · 31/08/2016 15:43

I'm glad you slept ohthat Smile I too slept for an hour on the sofa, bliss!

I was using 0.6% nicotine too ... but how strange that we have the same thing! Could be stress too I guess ... but still .... maybe a bit of both?? I'm going to try really hard to stay off them, I can't keep on feeling like this.

Today I've only eaten porridge for breakfast, a ready meal hotpot thing for lunch, one mini milk ice lolly and I've drunk lots of water, nothing else. I've not touched the ecig or caffeine. I may drop the antidepressant too to see if the restless legs and arms go away ... Confused I don't think they're helping really anyway ...

I hope you sleep tonight, no need to worry, the cameras will keep an eye on things. Are they installed and set up now?

If not, maybe we'll meet here tonight ... Grin

OhThatThingAgain · 31/08/2016 16:27

The guys are still setting up, I've got to go downstairs now so they can show me how to use it on my phone.

Deffo catch up later Flowers

Thecatgotmytongue · 31/08/2016 20:24

I hope it's all set up now and will solve the problem.

I wish everyone a good night's sleep Star

OhThatThingAgain · 31/08/2016 22:17

I've got them on my TV, I don't have to curtain twitch. It's better that way, I was up and down all night Sad

Don't come off the ADs quick, just talk to your GP because it's not right. You should be feeling better not worse. If you've been on then a while the side effects should have stopped.

NN to everyone Flowers

Thecatgotmytongue · 31/08/2016 22:38

I'll reduce the dose. See if it helps. I'm seeing the doctor on the 14th.

Goodnight, I hope you sleep Flowers

Slept from 11pm until 5am. Feeling pretty darn good, better than the usual 2 hours.

Might get up and have some tea and toast. Got to start eating right and acting like a normal person. Actually I'm having a pink lemonade lucozade with ice. It's nice and it's cooling as its still warm here, I'll get a proper breakfast after I've dropped the children off at 8am.

Taking my big girl to get kitted out for her reception class uniform this afternoon.

Been doing some googling and this weird chest spasm thing isn't uncommon amongst people who vape. Loads of stuff on Reddit about it. I must try and quit.

Hope you all had a peaceful night Flowers

Thecatgotmytongue · 01/09/2016 09:31

That's good! I'm glad you slept.

I didn't have a great night, slept on and off. I had an awful headache. It's ridiculously noisy outside, they're drilling somewhere nearby. And talking and laughing loudly, it's killing my head. But at least I didn't have heartburn and the throat spasms.

I didn't vape at all yesterday, it was surprisingly easy. I've packed them all away. I hope I can stick with it now.

OP posts:
OhThatThingAgain · 02/09/2016 08:47

How is everyone?

I went to bed early, managed to get to sleep by 9pm. Was woken up by noise at 12 and that was it. Three hours is better than nothing I guess.

I can't slack off today. DD1 starts reception on Monday so I need her stuff organised.

The boiler is being serviced, I've got a load of deliveries coming and I need to get the house cleaned. I'd like to take to bed but I have so many exciting things to do Confused

Thecatgotmytongue · 03/09/2016 03:10

Sorry you didn't get much sleep ohthat Sad I have to admit I did sleep well last night, I actually felt quite awake this morning for a change.

I still haven't vaped my ecig, my throat and the heartburn are much better.

Hi cat, been following your thread as I've had a shite week myself and been looking at the MH board for the first time in ages.

Regarding the E Cig, do you know what percentage pg (propylene glycol) to Vg (vegetable glycerine) is in your È liquid? It should say on the bottle.mi can't vape over 20% pg as I get awful heartburn. I vape liquid with 80% VG now, might be worth a shot? Good on you for not going back to fags. When my anxiety really hits, that's a big battle for me but I absolutely refuse to go down that horrible path again. Of course if you can go without the E cig, that's great.

Sending you love and strength Flowers

Thecatgotmytongue · 04/09/2016 02:57

Hi agent, sorry you're having a rubbish week.

It's interesting about the ecigs and heartburn, there's definitely a link. I've not touched mine for three days and I've had no more problems. I'll just go without for now, but I'll bear the vg thing in mind if I need to go back to it.

I'm late to bed, hopefully I'll sleep well though, so tired.

Hope everyone's asleep SmileFlowers

First day of reception for DD1 tomorrow, luckily my contract for work hasn't arrived so both DH and I can take her.

Not sleeping. She's fast asleep but talking like mad. I guess her little mind is working overtime.

Gives me something else to think about instead of me, me, me.

As for the vape, I had two days off. Started again today and guess what, a massive windpipe spasm thing. It's deffo the vape! I'm on 70% VG.

Hope you are all fast asleep.
