Number 14 now full up. I don’t think a new one has been started yet?
November total 191.1. (I think)

We did a staggered family parkrun this morning at our local course. Seemed to be a few people doing similar. Managed 22 mins exactly! so only about 20 secs slower than PB. Wasn’t sure how much I had lost with the longer runs so that was a pleasant surprise.

DD paced herself for the first time but I set her off 3 mins ahead of me and didn’t quite catch her so she’s chuffed. Then looped round to pick up DS as he was still on the field laps while DH ran. Both of them got PBS and now means DD and DH have similar times so they can pace each other for a while. Logistics sounds more complicated than it actually was😂

Me and DD have been making a large jug of electrolytes to stick in the fridge for a few days. Still playing around with our ratios a bit.

That sounds like good fun with your family Amaura!
Absolutely beautiful morning here, had lovely run along the river, no one else about, it was brilliant.

Beautiful 20 mile trail today with friends and exploring some new paths (no running next weekend so thought I’d go long)

Good interval session today & now the engineer is here to fix the dishwasher so it’s a good day!

Lovely photos everyone!

I did a mile time trial on sat, never raced a mile before, held back a bit as not sure what to expect, will try harder next attempt as it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting!

Cut my long run short on sun due to trainer heel rubbing Sad is there a more frustrating, painful feeling?! Lots of plasters / tape for session later!

Amaura · 14/07/2020 20:30

That’s down good mileage despite cutting it short @BusterTheBulldog

I’m going to try some mountain running this weekend so I’m essentially on taper. Did a 10km instead of tempo. Asthma got triggered near the end though.

Intervals tonight in a small group chasing each other. My 50k race is confirmed as going ahead so I’m glad I’ve stuck to the training plan with about a month to go.

Awesome news on the 50km race @PaddingtonPaddington

How are you feeling about it?

PaddingtonPaddington · 15/07/2020 20:07

@Amaura I’m a bit surprised the race is going ahead but also relieved that it’s not been postponed to October as that would have been longer training. The downside is there’s no spectators allowed, no hot food at the end and self service checkpoints and we’re being set off in groups of 6 at different time points with fastest estimated time last which makes me think we’ll all end up more together than normal.

Recovery run this evening in the rain.

That’s good news @PaddingtonPaddington I’ve been looking at half’s for later in the year (I still have a London place but it seems unlikely) in the hope to have something to train for.

Cut my tues intervals short due to heel / ankle issues. Easy run yesterday and will try for some kind of tempo session later today.

Evening run trying out a new route.

Fast-ish run this morning, a bit cooler so less painful.
A new route Paddington, excellent! How was it?

Easy long run this morning, sunny but not too hot.

IRun4Me · 19/07/2020 11:16

Nice run this morning. Set out in the drizzle but it soon cleared and glimpses of sun. Was humid though. Pace has really dropped off the last few weeks.

@emummy yes good route but there was a much steeper hill than I was anticipating!

Exhausted from an 18 mile trail run yesterday morning and a 10 mile run this morning. The training plan is tough but only 2 more weeks till taper time.

@IRun4Me I also set off in drizzle this morning but everything had dried up by the time I finished.

A weekend in the highlands. 33 miles and over 10,000 ft (3000m) of ascent. I learnt a lot (especially that I need to buy some expensive running waterproofs if I’m to do that again). I know the skyrace is a year away now but it was a lot slower going than I expected (but in some ways easier) and feel confident over what type of training will be needed now.

That looks gorgeous Amaura! What a weekend of running! Which skyline are you hoping to do? I did a half marathon in Glencoe a few years back, it was so beautiful. Even the children want to go back!

Tempo run today, had to really force myself out the door and there were some gritted teeth moments, but it’s done & I managed a good pace.

395.5 my miles + Amaura’s

BusterTheBulldog · 21/07/2020 10:00

Little bit behind,
Progression run Thursday evening
Easy 40mins on sat
And 1hr 45 on sun

Does anyone have any races left for this year?

emummy · 21/07/2020 10:37

My half from April has been moved to September. At the moment it's still on. I think they are keen to do it as it's a one-off as part of the 700th anniversary celebrations of an event, so it might happen. But we're in Scotland & Nicola is cautious so we'll see...
Do you have any Buster?

Amaura · 21/07/2020 11:03

Oops hadn’t spotted I had failed to do any actual maths 😂

Technically I have a trail hilly marathon in October that was postponed from a few weekends ago, not sure if that will go ahead. It was supposed to have been a training milestone for the skyrace so I might see about moving it to 2021 anyway. It’s the ring of steall race that I’m hoping to do next year. I’m ticking off the Munro’s slowly so can combine training with that, even if it is only 3 trips beforehand.

How’s everything thinking about goals and plans for the autumn/winter period?

Oh ignore my number as just realised @emummy had done my maths and I read it wrong 😓
