November total 191.1. (I think)

Lovely pictures.
Easy run this morning, hamstring/flute tight but not sore so just took it easy & found a route that avoided the worst hills. Not all the hills sadly!

Glute not flute.

Anotherthink · 26/04/2020 22:07

That's a good point amaura. I'm not really sure where I want to target I've just read that a weak core can cause injuries. I find workouts at home hard, it's difficult to get into the right mental space when it's scheduled to be in your living room. I might look into Pilates in the future.

It would be hard to find any hiit workout that didn’t help your core 🙂. The main thing is do something that isn’t running. Ease yourself into it, just tell yourself your having a look at some gentle low impact ones and you’ll find yourself having a go before long. It’s no different to knowing you’ll feel better once once you’ve ran your first 0.1 mile.

A gentle 4.4 this afternoon, tried to keep HR in zone 3 which involved walking after the inclines. I’m also lucky that my running club are doing three virtual workouts a week so joined one of those this morning. Followed by home hamstring/glute stretches tonight

Speed session this morning. Was tough & much warmer than I expected . Been trying to be disciplined and complete some daily exercises to help with my knee. Has anyone any good tips?

Intervals in the sun this morning, hamstring still a bit tight, might skip the next run and see how it is.
I try to do straight leg raises for my quads regularly sauvignon, plus glute & hamstring exercises and calf raises, just to try and keep all the muscles strong enough to do their job. Appreciate it doesn’t sound as though I’m successful at the moment! Usually it’s good though.

@emummy Thank you. Smile

Sometimes no matter what injuries happen. I’m definitely missing the gym for s&c.

Amaura · 28/04/2020 18:55

I get bored doing exercises so just rotate around a few. I like Dr Jo though, use her videos for hamstring and runners knee exercises.

Virtual race today 5 miles with 300ft climb, perfect weather for me (I love rain for running). Went well enough, 37 mins exactly but that last hill rep tough.

Including the warm up/down miles

Lovely photos Amaura and Panticus. Still haven’t managed to take any photos yet!

Keep forgetting to update this thread, friday 8 miles in the sun, Saturday went out on my bike for a change, Sunday was week 1 club 1 mile virtual time trial plus warm up and cool down and Monday 7 miles. I was supposed to be doing a trail marathon this Sunday but obviously cancelled. My ultra planned for August hasn’t been cancelled yet.

Thanks for the tip amaura

Rain kept me cool tonight, it's been so long since I've run in the rain!

A couple of runs with DS - one in the drizzle.
I’m quite active normally - cycling, walking, running. But I’m doing different exercises as the moment. We’ve been experimenting with different YouTube workouts which has been fun. Hoping I can continue post lockdown but doubt I’ll have the time.

Roads were lovely and quiet this morning thanks to the rain.
Wish I’d stopped to get a few pictures- went through the forest for the first time since lockdown and the colours were gorgeous.

Sorry me and the bloody numbers again.

Amaura · 30/04/2020 18:54

8 miles today and 5 yesterday, all hard work even they were slow, but rest day tomorrow (and recovery week next week) so only one last big run to go.

Same miles (136) as last month despite taking an extra recovery week on the last block of 3

Anotherthink · 30/04/2020 21:55

Bit disappointed. Tougher and slower tonight.

Run with DS this morning. He’s very keen at the moment so don’t want to put him off. It was lovely and also nice and quiet.
Doing a virtual race on Sunday so shall see how that goes.
New month so reset total

Wahoo new month stats

PaddingtonPaddington · 01/05/2020 21:36

New month yay.

Went out Wednesday for 7 miles in the rain and spotted a new lane so will need to investigate where that goes at the weekend.

Out after work to do week 2 of the club 1 mile time trial and managed to shave 5 seconds off but felt like I was going to die afterwards! Goodness knows how I can go any quicker.

IRun good luck for the virtual race in Sunday. I’ve got a charity half virtual run to do.

sauvignonblancplz · 02/05/2020 13:40

Virtual run this morning. Plagued with a stitch the whole way round .

10.8

Amaura · 02/05/2020 14:20

Rubbish sauvignon I hate how crippling stitches can be.

Last long run of this 3 weeks so have a 8 days of gentle recovery runs.

19 miles taking in some hills and some gorgeous views

IRun4Me · 03/05/2020 09:09

Good luck with your virtual half paddington. Oh sauvignon that’s not fun. Amaura I’m very impressed with your distances.
Just working out the route for my run. It’s a run until you get caught event so I want to try and work it so I’m nearish home and also avoiding busy routes. Realised the big advantage to virtual races - you don’t have to queue for the toilet Grin

OP posts:
Amaura · 03/05/2020 09:50

That sounds like a lot of fun irun

Our next club virtual race is a cheating 5km. You have one hour to to accumulate 5km of running but you can pause your watch. I’ve got my eye on a great bit of flat road but haven’t decided on my strategy yet

sauvignonblancplz · 03/05/2020 10:44

@Amaura I was thinking this exact same thing yesterday , no queues for toilets , no being rammed in like cattle.
Although no picnics, craic or medal at the end either .

emummy · 03/05/2020 11:58

First run since Tuesday, hamstring felt a little tight but not sore. Just took it easy. Will do easy running next week then get back on the training plan if ok. A Facebook group I’m on is doing scavenger hunts so that has been good fun during runs & has even helped get ds out the door for some exercise.

IRun4Me · 03/05/2020 18:17

Sounds fun emummy
Did my virtual race. Was really good and I enjoyed it so much. Had a couple of friends doing but also it was a global event so was able to follow the runners still going after I’d been ‘caught’.
My planned route worked well so I was quite close to home when I finished so not too far to walk back.
