Number 14 now full up. I don’t think a new one has been started yet?
November total 191.1. (I think)

Welcome! The numbers are the monthly total in miles for everyone added together. So if I run 2 miles I add it to the previous figure.
I am in a small town so it’s pretty easy at the moment - fairly quiet, people well behaved, easy access to quiet country roads if I need to. I find myself running the same routes all the time which would previously have bored me! Maybe it’s just feeling good at being able to get out at all, I don’t know.
How are things with you sauvignonblancplz?

sauvignonblancplz · 14/04/2020 21:35

Yeah getting out, which is great.
Staying on the pavements alongside the road which I hate , much prefer the forest but the paths are too narrow.
Does anyone else feel anxious ? I tend to go out on the road as there are often two or three a breast on the path? Finding I’m going out earlier and earlier , as is everyone else.

Welcome Sauvignon. I’m lucky that I don’t tend to see many people on my runs although I am seeing more than usual. One person earlier pulled their coat over their head as I went past! I was at least 3 metres away from them.

Beautiful sunny evening run today.

Think the numbers may have gone wrong somewhere as we’ve gone from 157 to 113. So adding my 8.5 mile run to 157

165.5

sauvignonblancplz · 15/04/2020 22:36

Oh flip I messed up the numbers, I thought it was your own personal total , sorry.

Dropped off the thread for abit as had to limit running due to injury- focused on strength building aka PE w Joe Wickes, The Shred and yoga plus walking 3-5m a day. Managed a couple of 6k runs now with my eldest DD which if I ice afterwards hasn’t niggles shin /foot pain too much so I’m optimistic I can slowly build up again as really want to easily just go out and rattle off 10km without thinking about it again...

emummy · 16/04/2020 08:42

Fingers crossed for you Tri!
Easy run through the woods this morning.

Welcome @sauvignonblancplz - I'm pretty sure it is a rite of passage to stuff up the numbers when you first join the thread Wink

Christ AIBU is a depressing read at the moment - so much hate for runners Confused I'm pleased to say I have encountered anything like that down here.

Light jog on the treadmill for me today - my knee pulled up a teeny bit tender after the weekend's long run so I'm just taking it a little easy. Am currently trawling through websites to work out what nasty HIIT workout I will do tomorrow as preparation for the weekend's eating!

emummy · 16/04/2020 21:44

I just avoid AIBU now

IRun4Me · 17/04/2020 10:37

Welcome sauvignon I normally mess up the numbers with my bad maths.
Hope the injury settles tri
I noticed the threads about anti runners, thankfully not in real life. Only problem I have with runs at the moment is I keep seeing people I’d normally see out and about, but because I’m now limited in seeing them, I feel I want to chat.

Hello all,

dropped off the threads due to breaks for couple of injuries. I possibly started running again too soon - ran the Friday before lockdown as thought it may be my last chance and then have continued BlushBlush low miles and all easy apart from one lesser intensity session a week.

I’ll add my April miles to total. One small bonus, I sold my old garmin on eBay for a much higher price than a couple of months ago due to all the new runners!

Glad to see everyone is getting out.

@IRun4Me
Thank you , don’t feel so bad now lol.
Lovely run this morning , chose a different route so that I was running toward the traffic on the footpath, that way it would be easier to play ‘people dodgems’. Unfortunately was mainly uphill into the wind.

Tough progression run this morning in the sunshine. It’s been a pretty busy & intense week so not sure my body was in the mood but got it done!
Sauvignon uphill and into the wind counts as twice as many miles - or it should!

PaddingtonPaddington · 18/04/2020 19:52

Fingers crossed for you Tri

10 hilly miles in drizzle, ran headwind out so was tailwind back. Actually really enjoying my running this week.

Amaura · 18/04/2020 21:48

Sorry, dropped off for a bit there

Will read through later, just want to get my maths in order first 😂

53.12 miles to add

Panticus · 19/04/2020 08:47

Lots of gorgeous autumnal colours on my run today. It felt good to stretch the legs on a flattish course for a change.

Gorgeous sunny run today, ran to some woods I haven’t been to for a while, lovely & quiet

311.75

Panticus · 19/04/2020 11:48

Hah I overlapped with emummy so I think the correct total is:

320.45

emummy · 19/04/2020 14:01

Thanks Panticus, we must have posted simultaneously!

Amaura · 19/04/2020 16:28

Hello the new joiners and the rejoiners.

Liking the photos

An additional recovery week, daily calf rolling and a few glute exercises seems to have sorted the shin pain. I’ve also stopped wearing one of my pairs of trainers as I think they were an issue.

I got 3.2 recovery run miles to add (having done 18 yesterday so every step was effort), but I see there’s been a number cross post

IRun4Me · 20/04/2020 09:37

Morning all. Hope all injuries are settling.
Short run this morning as I’m really struggling with the pollen levels and affect on my asthma. But it was lovely out there and nice and quiet.

Bit breezy tonight! First run in 18 days as I think I had/have groin strain. I was a bit down in the dumps about not being able to go and thought I left it long enough but I'm not sure now. It was a struggle and I felt a very familiar pain in the other leg too. I've got my fingers crossed I'm ok in the morning and I've not ruined both legs!

sauvignonblancplz · 21/04/2020 00:37

Lovely run this morning- another alternative route . Definitely less hilly, more quiet and not as much wind.

@IRun4Me What medicine do you use?

emummy · 21/04/2020 08:49

Tempo run in cool misty weather this morning. Started off dreading it and then actually quite enjoyed it!

Morning sauvignon I take a regular steroid inhaler but do double my dose at this time of year or if I have a cold. I do take a salbutamol inhaler if I’m suffering and also try to remember to take an antihistamine tablet. Does seem worse this year but maybe I’m just a bit hyper aware!! But I definitely believe my running has made my asthma better (as in more controlled).

@IRun4Me My son is exactly the same he has allergy related asthma that annoys him a lot in the Spring/Summer.
He also takes an antihistamine daily and this is really helps as well.
