Number 14 now full up. I don’t think a new one has been started yet?
November total 191.1. (I think)

Good job PaddingtonPaddington, it's always tough when your heart's not in it but good to tick the box and get it done.

Intervals on the treadmill today for me with the incline turned up to 4.5%. It was surprisingly hard. I managed 8 x 400m at my 5km pace but it was not easy. 60 second reco.

The gym was still relatively well attended and people were being very diligent about staying away from each other and wiping things down thoroughly. I think I'd go mad if I couldn't go to the gym.

I'm going to have to return to outdoor running as the gym has shut. I'm sorta dreading it, but I always tell myself it gets better after about ten minutes. I wish I could join a club but it seems all training is cancelled too

Panticus · 21/03/2020 02:27

You're right bakedbeanz, it really does. Get out there and enjoy.

Lovely run with the husband today. A new route with lots of lovely views and our pace was good too.

Where is everyone? Hope you are all doing ok.

Hello. Just checking in. Hoping everyone is ok and glad people are still able to get out, if not to the gym.
I’m still holding off running but been on the indoor bike regularly (so boring). Went on a long dog walk yesterday and hardly felt the back so might try a tentative test run soon

Lovely run in the forest this morning. Miss the social side of parkrun but nice to have a lie in.
Fingers crossed for your back IRun

I'm going out now - there's a track at York racecourse park runners use. Wish me luck! 🤯😊

TriSkiRun99 · 21/03/2020 13:57

I really missed my ParkRun chat as it’s the only place I see some of the school mum friends I made when eldest started primary as the kids are all at secondary now. Still I was awake early did a 6.30am slow run/walk intervals along super windy cold beach. I’ve walked 45miles this week according to my watch (thinks it’s generous), with no foot issues but a slow run made it ache again even on the sand which reduces impact. Think I’ll stick to early 1hr Walks & a 5k once a week - assuming we all still allowed out... it’s going to be challenging though juggling kids at home, working from home and getting some head/walk space.
Hope everyone can stay healthy and keep their sanity.

Amaura · 21/03/2020 16:08

Did a long one today (just in case). Under fuelled I think (plus left later than normal and had too much wine last wine). Got 18 hilly miles done, but very tired now.

Elected to not join friends on their run, I do have asthma so thought it was time to isolate a bit. However there was definitely a lot more people out there today walking and cycling. I’d say at least double, maybe three times as much.

Also another 10 km from the the other day

Still need 4 tomorrow to hit weekly goal

Did it. Felt so good to be out. And the sun was shining. Could feel the back but it was a sore niggle rather than the pain I had previously. And the dog was happy.

Relaxed easy run with Dh & DD2. We have a vague plan to do Run Disney next year so
Dd has started training! Lovely sunny afternoon

@Amaura well done on the virtual parkrun time.

@emummy just had to google Run Disney looks fab!

7 miles Friday and finally did my 20 mile race today virtually 3 hrs 4 mins. Pretty happy with that though if it was a real race with water stations and a bit of encouragement from marshals could probably have done sub 3. But there’s always another race in the future. Now going to cut back as my marathon was cancelled in May and my ultra is not till August which might not go ahead. Will be good to take the pressure off and run for fun.

First time I've ran for 10 days due to a sick bug and I'm already a beginner. Went back loads of steps and only managed 1 mile but the beautiful morning made me feel good anyway.

My outdoor trip for today done. Brisk run around town in strong wind. Met a few others out walking, we all made a point of saying hello to each other which was nice. Best wishes to you all, hope you & your families stay well.

Well done Amaura
Anotherthink You will get your energy back. Went for a short run. All single track or off road. Definitely more people than normal out walking or running. Wonder if it’ll be like that on a rainy day.

Nice easy paced run this morning after doing a boot camp via Zoom last night. Me, DD2 & DS leaping around the living room, it was quite a sight! And good fun. So easy run today, getting milder, not too busy and everyone doing the 2m thing. Feel nice and relaxed now, ready to tackle today’s online lecture on statistics.

Good to see everyone keeping it up Smile I had a nice easy run today too along an old aqueduct trail near our house - lovely and deserted. Finished with a 5 minute plank just to add some extra pain.

Nice run this morning. Was busier out there a mixture of people I often see running plus new running faces.
Came home and did the Joe Wicks PE workout with DC

Thanks irun4me I managed 2 miles tonight. Need to not leave it so long between runs. Used to go every other night and now it's more like twice a week if I'm lucky! First time I've run in he evening since the lockdown and the lack of traffic was strange.

First run since Sunday’s 20 miles. Did a few trails and part road plus core strength afterwards. My running club are doing a virtual race this weekend so motivation to get out again.

Nice run this morning but that wind was strong. Seemed quieter out there. I’m guessing because chilly and windy

Some good efforts by people here

Have felt quite flat out, work is busy (but WFH) and adapting to tag teaming supervising DCs.

Have done three runs: a steady 8, intervals (5x800m with 1.5 each way to get there) and a slightly pacy 10. Plan this is week is back to back runs so have another 12 to do tomorrow before recovery week starts.

Today’s one was nice as had the children on their bikes and it was the longest the youngest had been. He was not impressed with the wind but proud of himself for doing it (especially as I told him it was only going be 6-8 miles Grin) yes to there being a lot less people this week thankfully, I think most people drive and then walk in the hills near us (whereas I can jog there from home)

Panticus · 28/03/2020 23:32

I had a nice slow steady Sunday run along the trails around my house - had a bit of alcohol to work out of the system which probably didn't help matters. Lots of bikes out and about but other than that I only came across 1 walker and 2 kangaroos. No prizes for guessing which country I live in Grin

Kangaroos! Fantastic! The wildlife on my runs is usually red squirrels, deer & Highland cows. None of that today; did 2.5 walk-run miles with DD2, then another few miles on my own through town.

Thinking of starting a 5k training programme next week, try some shorter faster stuff then do a 5k time trial at the end.

PaddingtonPaddington · 29/03/2020 15:39

Kangaroos wow! Deer, rabbits, squirrels and pheasants are the usual wildlife for me.

My running club did a 5K virtual challenge this weekend so I joined in on that. It’s the first time I’ve run a 5K this year and haven’t run at that pace for a while with all the marathon training. Pleasantly surprised with my result. The idea is we do it again every weekend and hopefully improve as the weeks go by. It’s been interesting to see everyone’s results on Strava. Also did a warm up and cool down to add a few miles in. It’s the first weekend I’ve not done a long run in ages.
