Number 14 now full up. I don’t think a new one has been started yet?
November total 191.1. (I think)

Absolutely right Strandliv! Well done on getting to parkrun again. Sounds like you have the perfect excuse for a shoe shopping trip!
-4 here this morning so pretty well wrapped up for my run. Lovely frosty fields & trees and a good steady run.

Hello fellow runners - I've been enjoying following this thread for a while so I thought I might finally officially join if that's ok

Trail runner here from the Antipodes. We're on a week long beach holiday so today was a beautiful run to a cape and back. We had a lovely tailwind on the way out and consequently copped an awful headwind on the return. I'm guessing the counter is in miles?

@Panticus yes in miles, which means I’ve already messed up the count once since I joined, but I’m slowly getting to grips with miles. Welcome.

IRun4Me · 02/02/2020 12:10

Welcome Panticus lovely picture. I’m only slightly (very) jealous.
Really nice run this morning, the back is easing and is a dull ache rather than shooting pains. DS was at his sports training so I took advantage of running in our local city. It is very beautiful but can get busy luckily it was still quite early so only had to do a little bit of dodge the tourists.

Got a steady 6m done before the unforcast rain set in for the rest of the day.. my calf still causing me issues and now got a crocked neck?! But my amazing massage therapist spent an hour working on me today so the calf has eased abit. I’m still hoping I can make the start line of my planned Half on Sunday but not sure yet if my body will let me finish it 😞fingers crossed it can. SO frustrating as a couple of weeks ago I’d nailed a 14m run with no issues so wasn’t worried about this race but now I’m not feeling confident at all.

Panticus · 04/02/2020 06:01

@TriSkiRun99 is your calf sore or just cramping? Take the rest of the week off if you can?

21.1m for us today. It was utterly spectacular but pretty brutal and very technical so the pace was pretty slow.

And I massively screwed up the numbers.

67.3 sorry Blush

emummy · 04/02/2020 12:41

Welcome Panticus! Don't worry about the numbers - I added an extra hundred miles once...
Pre work run this morning, milder but very windy. Was a bit later so slightly lighter than usual which was nice. Roll on the long days of summer!

Strandliv · 04/02/2020 15:50

@Panticus thank goodness someone else did it to, I messed the count up in my first few posts. 21.1miles... WOW!
So I went out with my friend again. 3.1 miles from me today.

IRun4Me · 05/02/2020 19:13

I think we’ve all mucked up the mileage at some point Grin
Lovely morning for a run. Cold and frosty. Still struggling loads with my back. Hoping it gets better soon as I’m getting very frustrated now and keep having to cut short my runs.

Short run to the train station today.

Good run this morning, finishing with sunrise. Off to work to see my first patient, very nervous

Been away for a few days with work so just catching on on everyone’s runs. Beautiful photos @Panticus

Hope the back improves soon @IRun4Me must be very frustrating

Had a lovely run Sunday with my son, went out Tuesday at 5am before work in an unfamiliar city in the dark, got lost, phone died but got back eventually and also went out tonight for some intervals. Strength training on top is hard but hoping it’ll get easier as the weeks go by.

Panticus · 06/02/2020 23:48

Thanks everyone for making me feel better Grin

Intervals today but I went easy as legs are still carrying a bit of fatigue from Tuesday. This was a good format** - the 200s at the end were hard but it's such a nice quick distance you can really crank up the pace.

Not ran since Monday due to cricked neck & calf injury. Also I’ve pulled out of the half marathon I was supposed to be doing on Sunday. They still haven’t cancelled it despite scaling back on lots of the support stuff like signs out and pulling out the main water station because of the wind forecast! I’m hoping they will credit me as they were offering a credit on another race if injured which I’m at as well but I’m not prepared to run 2hrs+ in heavy rain and 50pmh!
Volunteered at ParkRun instead this morn which involved 2.5m walk as we had the furthest point but beautiful ☀️ morning most definitely the calm before the storm.

Strandliv · 08/02/2020 16:48

Just went out for a short run before the wind comes. Felt motivated after I got an email showing me the medal release for the 10km I’m doing in September. Bad luck TriSkiRun99 I hope they credit you for your half marathon.

PaddingtonPaddington · 08/02/2020 19:31

@TriSkiRun99 sorry to hear you can’t run at the mo. I can’t see a half marathon being on tomorrow. Everything near us running wise has been cancelled for tomorrow.

According to my training plan I’m supposed to do 8 miles today and 12 tomorrow but due to the storm thought I’d better get the longer run done today. Managed 15 miles but the last 5 were a serious hard slog. So that leaves 5 left to do tomorrow Hmm

TriSkiRun99 · 08/02/2020 20:34

They have now cancelled the two local running events near me once the wind warning was up graded to Amber, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to run the rescheduled date if they find one.
Well done on the 15m paddington can you cross train instead Tom? It looks awful everywhere for a few days now.

TriSkiRun99 · 08/02/2020 20:39

On a good note my eldest DD knocked yet another 30secs off her ParkRun PB this morning. She’s been running with DH at PR the last couple of weeks and he’s slowed her down at the start so she’s not blowing up at the 3.5k mark and still finishing ok but still walking a couple of bits and got under 28mins today. She does zero running (a swimmer normally), it would be fab to see her get under 25mins as she’s very capable if she did a bit of training. But she’s enjoying it which is the main thing for a nearly teenage girl when SO many of her friends have really sadly ditched sport in the last year.

Panticus · 09/02/2020 00:55

Just 8.7m for me today but it was one of those awful slogs where my legs felt heavy from the outset and my inner voice was in full self-saboteur mode Angry. It also had 450m of elevation gain and a chunk of running on soft sand so a bit of a tough one. I'm glad it's over.

PaddingtonPaddington · 09/02/2020 09:22

Well done @Panticus, sounds tough but it’s done.

@TriSkiRun99 well done to your DD with the parkrun PB.

Dragged myself out this morning and did a slow recovery run, which is all I could manage as whichever way I was running felt like headwind!

emummy · 09/02/2020 10:29

Steady run in the rain this morning, wee bit windy but not bad. Enjoyable route along country roads

emummy · 11/02/2020 08:26

I hope the weather has not caused any serious problems for anyone; it’s been pretty ok here, just windy and cold.
Steady run this morning, started into he dark & finished in daylight, hurray!
