Anybody else in London ballot?

It's the first time I've entered. I didn't think I'd be bothered but now we're approaching d day (week after next I'm guessing?) Ive become obsessed and am writing imaginary training plans Blush

When I entered I thought that if I got a spot, I'd defer it to give myself a year to put extra miles in my legs. But now I don't care about the extra miles...!!

Might look for other spring marathons.... K own I couldn't commit to fundraising for charity place.

I got the magazine yesterday. Red coating but I could see the 'You're in' through it, and the guy in the pink outfit Easter Smile

No email or magazine here yet. Annoyingly our postman used to come around 10 or 11 but last week they changed it all and now it's around 2.

Well my postman has been and nothing has arrived. I think I’ve just resigned myself to a no. Did read this morning that the bib numbers are being put back on realbuzz today. If there is nothing there then I’ll just accept it’s a firm no.

Might have a look at the new Newport marathon. I did Cardiff at the weekend and it was very well organised so I hope Newport will be good to.

My postman has been and nothing. People will definitely still receive yes magazines today and possibly tomorrow. Honestly EA have year I watch all my running club and buddies on fb posting. Apparently first lot of no emails are going out today.

I don't understand why they can't send all the emails over a single day and put people out their misery. It's already been months since the ballot application.

My reject the year before last was literally at the last minute.

Sending over 250,000 emails at once would crash a server. That's what happened with the NHS one when someone hit reply all to an email.

Newport are going to be hosting a full marathon in April 2018!

I was reading FB comments by a man who phoned them up today to clarify the process, and he felt the call handler was hinting that if you hadn’t heard by now, you aren’t in.

That’s just one person’s take on it though!

The whole process is a bit shambolic, especially the long drawn out process of letting people know.

I don't think it's that bad. It's the most popular running event in the world. They had 360,000 people apply. I'm gutted and I wish I didn't have to wait, but I don't think waiting 3 days is that bad. I've done it 3 times.

They don't tell you earlier because they do charity places first and Good for Age places- they depend on other marathon times so can't be done until then. So they process all that first. Then the ballot.

I wouldn't describe it as shambolic.

They specifically ask people not to call until 2 weeks are passed. I'm surprised they talked to him at all. People like that are wasting the time of the people who should be processing ballot entries.

DH is yet to hear. He is expecting a no email as there was nothing in the post.

Just glad to know. I might actually get stuff done now Grin. I have spent far too much time on this the past few days.
