Anybody else in London ballot?

It's the first time I've entered. I didn't think I'd be bothered but now we're approaching d day (week after next I'm guessing?) Ive become obsessed and am writing imaginary training plans

When I entered I thought that if I got a spot, I'd defer it to give myself a year to put extra miles in my legs. But now I don't care about the extra miles...!!

Might look for other spring marathons.... K own I couldn't commit to fundraising for charity place.

Don't feel guilty Loudest. You have as much right as anyone else for a place, enjoy every minute.

I agree they should bring back the old system and dare I say it, reduce the number of charity places.

I am trying to work out which is the easiest flattest UK course. It is the only way I have of obtaining GFA. Even then I am probably being extremely optimistic

I'm all signed up for newport. Pretty cheap for a marathon and nice and flat!

9th (or 10th) rejection here too. I gave up waiting for London and ran the jersey marathon last weekend. I’ll definitely be doing that again next year as it’s not a nonsense ballot system. Good luck to all who have been successful!

Brighton is flat-ish. A steep but short uphill followed by a gradual climb out to about mile 10, then down and flat all the way.

I'm doing Brighton for Cats Protection. that gives me a guaranteed place for VLM 2019 (which feels in a way like cheating!)

I do think the ballot system needs adjusting, it seems wrong that people are being rejected so many times, but I absolutely don’t begrudge those who have got spots.**

I'm in but will be deferring due to the small matter of running buddy #2 due in February. 2nd ballot acceptance in 7 attempts.
