Anybody else in London ballot?

It's the first time I've entered. I didn't think I'd be bothered but now we're approaching d day (week after next I'm guessing?) Ive become obsessed and am writing imaginary training plans

When I entered I thought that if I got a spot, I'd defer it to give myself a year to put extra miles in my legs. But now I don't care about the extra miles...!!

Might look for other spring marathons.... K own I couldn't commit to fundraising for charity place.

I found the real buzz page, logged in and I can't see a bib no.
Doesn't look like I was lucky. Or is it too soon?

style bath is a good one. Start of march, large field, quite flat. Almost sold out though so need to book soon.

No one has a bib number in our small sample size but equally we haven't had anyone say they do have one so maybe it's too soon .... crosses fingers in hope!!

5 of us have applied.
I've checked all 5 of their accounts (I have all their details) and nobody has a bib number.
So I'm wondering if it's too soon, maybe they send things out in in blocks or regions.
Because surely one of us would have got a place?

Yes, you'd think at least one of us on here would have a place.

i know its never mentioned how any ballot places are given out but it would be interesting to know

About London Marathon (this is from one of the VLM directors)
The world record number of hopefuls was 73,586 up from the previous UK applicant record of 53,9302 for the 2017 event - an increase of nearly 29 per cent. A total of 58,534 people applied in the overseas ballot. Just over 58% of the UK applications for 2018 were from people who have never run a marathon and more than 45% of the total UK applicants were women (also a new record).
The ballot is a completely random draw, just like the National Lottery, so everyone who applies has an equal chance of success.
Everyone who has won a place in the ballot will receive a confirmation letter and magazine through the post. Unsuccessful applicants will receive either a magazine or will be emailed an e-zine.
Applicants who have not received their ballot result are asked to wait until Monday 9 October before contacting the London Marathon helpdesk.

boyboy, it doesn't say anything about finding a number under the bib.

so only 5% of people who enter get a place ?

It won't as that isn't an official way to find out.

I have no bib number either ah well, perhaps do blackpool instead!

I'm in. Shitting myself now. I've not run more than 5k, which was years ago, and it took me about an hour!
Going to start building up to longer runs. I want to try and do 10k in about an hour and 15 by Christmas, which will help any marathon training i do from January onwards. Well done fellow runners!

In all honesty, I’d forgotten all about it - DH opened the magazine without looking as he thought it was business catalogue!
When I saw what it was I assumed it was the rejection mag.

So I haven’t been checking any other sources sorry!

I ran a half in 2.12 a week ago so I’m nervous but feel like I’ve a good base.

Deffo need to invest in road shoes now though, I’ve been wearing my trails to death for 12 months!
