Anybody else in London ballot?

It's the first time I've entered. I didn't think I'd be bothered but now we're approaching d day (week after next I'm guessing?) Ive become obsessed and am writing imaginary training plans Blush

When I entered I thought that if I got a spot, I'd defer it to give myself a year to put extra miles in my legs. But now I don't care about the extra miles...!!

Might look for other spring marathons.... K own I couldn't commit to fundraising for charity place.

No the magazines and emails go out over a number of days. They've got to send 250,000+ so do it in batches.

No email or mag yet.. I did check the real buzz thing early this morning and it didn't have a bib number so I'm not holding out much hope. I know it's silly because the odds were slim and it's a bit of a lottery but I' ve been feeling really down recently and this was a little bit of hope for something exciting. Now I feel really disappointed as I'm convinced I've not got in and not sure what to aim for now. Would love to do a european marathon but can't afford it as both DPs and his dad have big birthday's coming up (30th and 60th)

SteamingPistons you could try Amsterdam. I reckon it's probably cheaper than doing London, unless you already live in London. Last time I did it, you could collect your race pack on the day. It's probably possible to fly out and back the same day, but if not I find hotel accommodation cheaper there than London. London has always cost me a fortune with travel, food and accommodation.

Steaming pistons, would you consider a smaller uk marathon? Much cheaper and you might appreciate something more low key.

Steaming, I've heard that the Great North Run sounds has a fantastic atmosphere. (even better than London Marathon apparently)
and it's a half marathon which is good.

I'm a bit wary of entering anything too short as surely that's usually filled with 'faster' runners? Confused or am I wrong?

Because I'm a novice by some standards, I'm more of a plodder, I would stand out like a sore thumb if the run is too short and too fast.

Dh and I both got the Sorry Magazine when we got home today Sad There’s a letter in it too saying you haven’t got a place

Plus our training shirts (which are ok)

I'm still waiting too, though our post has been dodgy recently as we have building work. I think our builders thought I was mad coming to check for post twice today!

It can take all week for everything to go out so don't give up hope! Congrats to all who get in, it was my first marathon last year and I loved it!

Joining in for the wait. I didn't get any post today at all. It sounds strange but I think I'll be excited if I get in, but also relieved if I don't.

I didn't get in again this year. My top is so small I reckon it would fit my DS 😂 that'll teach me to go smaller thinking I'd be fit and trained this time

First time ballot entry here. Getting very excited, have even got my running gear on for the first time in 3 months.

I've looked at the real buzz and no bib number either.

Does VLM base bib numbers on when you applied? Mine is in the 6000's, which seems relatively low when I think of how many people get in..
