I hope you find me

Purple I quite like tracy, think it's because she reminds me of a tracy I know in rl who genuinely is lovely!

EleanorAbernathy · 31/03/2017 11:45

Reastie if you look on YouTube, Millionaire Hoy has lots of great low impact workouts (I had to do one on one of my contrast weeks as I had such painful Insanity Calves!)

I'M MARRIED! It's not much different apart from I now have to say DH instead of DP on here and have a nice shiny ring! The day was amazing and we had lovely weather for it. I thhink I've put on about a stone since already so I need to get back on Trinity from Sunday, but until then I am eating what I like.

yumyumpoppycat · 01/04/2017 19:04

Congratulations Eleanor!! {steps back to admire shiny wedding ring}

I did isometrix today - omg the woman in that (Daria??) is amazing, prob a ballerina, she is my tracy though not overly keen on her as too perfect! I was ok at the stuff on one leg but struggled with all the plank variations. Felt good to get a workout done.

Purpleraindeer · 02/04/2017 20:48

Congratulations Eleanor! FlowersWine I hope you've had a fantastic few days. Are you back on trinity, or is that a Monday thing?

Poppy - I really like isometrix. I have exactly the same problem with the plank moves. I have no idea how it's possible to do those and not have your hips move. I was grunting like a labouring warthog whilst doing them. Unfortunately p90x3 schedule only has you do isometrix once every 4 weeks so I won't be trying it again for a while.

I did a double today Halo. This was only to make up for not doing anything yesterday though so I needed to stay on schedule. Cvx in the am and then yoga x in the afternoon. I feel nicely stretched out after yoga which is good. I've been feeling really achy all down one side of my back so I hope yoga has sorted it. Rest day tomorrow then back into the schedule with some proper p90x3 weights. Will be good - I really want to improve my muscle tone. I feel like I've lost a bit since this time last year.

Have a good evening all. Sorry for the essay!

MummyOfLittleBigGirl · 04/04/2017 12:00

Hello Everyone!
I did start T25 years ago but back then it was too much.
I restarted it at the beginning of March and I can firmly say that I am a T25-aholic!
I get up at 6am every morning and my body says, "do 10 mins and then stop and enjoy the quite house".
I can't I have to do the lot.

My fave is Cardio Core - but those air-planks get me EVERY TIME!
I have to stop take 2 mins to breathe then back on it!

Not following the diet plan as I just eat fruit salad for breaky, veg salad topped with a bit of salmon for lunch, then a home cooked meal.
All small portions.
I've gone done a jean size from a 16 to a 14, but now my 14s are a little slack around the midsection.

@EleanorAbernathy
Well done YOU Star
Insanity is my goal!
I hate it when Shaun says "there's the power" or "tighten the core" - dude does my head in with that!

@Purpleraindeer
Hope you're feeling better!

Purpleraindeer · 05/04/2017 21:46

Hi mummyof! Glad you're enjoying t25. Do give insanity a go. It's fab too.

Started mth 2 of p90x3. Did the upper body workout yesterday and triometrics (plyo) today. Was a bit humbling really. The upper body one particularly felt very hard. I don't like the pain of lifting heavy weights. I need to man up and get a bit more like you Eleanor!

yumyumpoppycat · 06/04/2017 08:48

Purple well done on starting month 2 of p90x3. I am sticking with x3 for now if you don't mind some company, think I need the motivation of someone doing the same workout! Did Dynamix which I have never done before, quite like it, its not a working up seat workout but I still found it hard as I am so unfit now. Weird thing is that I could do the leg raise stuff but not the side planks...very strange.

Had to put on fresh (bought them a year ago, so not new but unworn) trainers. They are crossfit ones which I thought meant good for lots of different things but think I was wrong they are very hard on the soles and wide round the toes (good for my flipper feet though) I found side plank hard- impossible and don't know if that was from unfitness or trainers. Also to continue my moan my mat is too thin and it hurts to lie on my side. my other mat which I got to replace it is too fat and makes farting noises. Grrr.

Good work mummy, welcome. Your food plan is clever as quite simple and you know exactly what you are doing.

Purpleraindeer · 06/04/2017 20:52

Ooh great poppy - will be fun to have another p90x3-er. I've never done dynamix. Blush this lack of stretching may explain why I'm sore.

Maybe cross fit trainers are more shoes for weights poppy - isnt there a lot of weights in crossfit?

Eccentric lower tonight. I think I don't work hard enough with weights as it hurts. It's prob good that I'm going to do this workout 3 more times to get a bit more out of it. Legs sore now tho so it definitely did something

yumyumpoppycat · 06/04/2017 21:34

I think if it hurts that's a good sign you are working hard! Maybe I will try lower focus tomorrow. I think you are right about the shoes. I will need to try and find my old ones for cardio, or clean up my outdoors ones. I guess the weight ones should be ok for lower focus.

Reastie · 07/04/2017 10:03

Yumy I like the isometrix DVD but the plank stuff is really hard. I like yogax3 purple and it feels nicely challenging for yoga but I can never do that twisted half moon thing they do at the end.

How are you enjoying married life Eleanor?

Mummy it sounds like you're getting along very well with t25. You could always give insanity a go but modify the moves?

Haven't been on much recently, sorry. Was super hectic with end of term stuff and now with dd at home. Also still really down with injuries so not great company on here. Have managed three short 25 min runs this week and a quick 7k cycle and a few light weights for building up on injury. I guess most average people would think this is good but I'm not working hard enough. I'm still 10lbs lighter ATM than six months ago but I'm convinced it's muscle loss and I feel just so lethegic and flabby. I'm ravenous today with either is hormones or I'm getting ill. I hope it's the former!

Hi everyone, sorry been a bit MIA. I started Body Beast. I do love the weights. Am going heavy on legs but being careful on other exercises as I want to perfect form. I also did a couple of runs. Dh is doing c25k and I was going in his homework runs which made me want to run more on my own which I did!
Congrats Eleanor on being married!
X3 yoga is my favourite! Reastie have you used a yoga block? Helps me enormously with twisted half moon.
Purple am impressed with your double. I get what you say about muscle tone. Felt so like that after core de force.
Yummy I never got on with isometrix. Am going to do x3 after the summer holidays so we shall see..has been a long time since I last did it.
Mummy welcome! T25 is awesome. Have you thought about max 30? You could start as a modifier and work your way up? Or try insanity at your own pace. With insanity I alwYs found the warm up the worst but I think it was psychological...going fast for warm up and then the contemplation of X more minutes.
Your nutrition sounds great! Well done on the weight loss.

Purpleraindeer · 09/04/2017 12:46

Welcome back disappointed. Somehow I knew you were out there working hard!

Poppy - how did lower focus go. I still hate those lunge hold things.

Reastie - def keep posting. It makes me smile - your definition of not enough exercise is many other people's hard week.

Has been birthday-tastic here so I may have been eating a bit of cake and even missed a workout yesterday... anyway got back on it with incinerator which I really enjoyed. The DC also enjoyed it as whilst I wasn't on the pull up bar they used the pull up assist as a swing!

Enjoy the lovely weather today Smile

disappointed101 · 09/04/2017 22:38

Was it your birthday purple? Happy Birthday!!!

Purpleraindeer · 11/04/2017 09:16

Not my birthday, but that didn't stop me eating like it was!

MMX last night. DH got home whilst I was half way thru and found it hilarious. I don't think I look particularly threatening when I do my kicks/elbows etc and frankly my upper cuts/hooks and jabs all look the same after a while. I want to be like Alice, she looks amazing doing it.

yumyumpoppycat · 11/04/2017 09:42

Grin at at your dc using pull up as a swing Purple.

Well done on getting started with bodybeast Dissapointed, how does it compare to Hammer and chisel? I find I have to go be careful with lower body as I struggle with lunges etc.

Defo keep posting Reastie your 'journey' to go all twee is important and I love your posts too.

I finally did Eccentric (?) lower, really like it I found it hard but not impossible, worked up a bit of a sweat and didn't feel like I was cheating. Didn't go that heavy up to 7kg for first squats. Mainly used kettlebells, for the pistol squat I finally got some use out a tiny kettlbell (one I got with a dvd from sainsburys in the new year sale years ago) which has always seemed pointless [so that's a bonus.

I really need to get on it again now as have gained 7lbs but at least my knees and back feel ok again.

Waves to Eleanor and Roman.

Reastie · 11/04/2017 12:28

Yumy that's great your knees and back seem ok. I like eccentric lower too, although haven't done it for ages. I always find those lunges where you put your leg on a chair really really hard.

thank you for making me feel like I can keep posting even if I am boring and have nothing to do with workouts.

Purple Grin at you eating like it was your birthday!

Did a quick run this morning. Slowly getting quicker even though being careful with injury. A few weeks ago I did the same route in 29 minutes and today it was 24. Did a 40 minute cycle on Sunday in my aim to do different exercises I can do with injuries. I am so slow and my bike is ancient and rubbish. Lots of cyclists overtook me and embarrassingly it was when I felt I was going at my fastest! Still, I don't care, it was exercise.

I've decided I've lost fat from my boobs as my bras suddenly seem to be way too big in the cups. The fat has moved itself to my tummy which seems more flabby than ever. Why can't my tummy get smaller and my boobs get bigger!

EleanorAbernathy · 12/04/2017 00:42

Popping in to say hi - I'm back on Trinity now, but will be Beachbodying in my contrast weeks!

I now know the answer to the question about how much weight you can gain in a week - the answer is if you're me 8lbs! Grin

And it's not as bad as it sounds and must have been mainly water weight - as I'd lost 6lbs of it after a week of eating normally again. I was a bit worried as my Trinity starting calories are 1770 but it turned out OK!

disappointed101 · 12/04/2017 09:29

Yummy. Hammer and chisel seems to be total body quite a bit, legs seem to get blasted. Body beast is a focus on different parts. So chest and tris, back and biceps, legs, shoulders and cardio. I am almost at the end of the first phase build. Diet is carb heavy. Next phase is bulk and the final phase is beast where you change your diet to higher protein to get rid of the fat. I am being relaxed about the diet and not too strict as I had been emotional eating which had led to binges. I think this was due to being too strict with nutrition. Not sustainable for me. I was trying to be too perfect. I am never going to look like Autumn!
Reastie, I am little boobed as well. It always goes from there first but I always put it back on thighs.
Eleanor I am not even going to step on the scale. I know I have put weight on from the first phase, you are supposed to. It would derail me for sure!

yumyumpoppycat · 13/04/2017 09:59

Dissapointed I had a phase where I was doing quite well on diet being strict and now its like my body is protesting and gaining like mad. Sounds like Body beast wont be one for dipping in and out of but prob better for results.

Reastie I am the same with boobs. I lose from there first so need to keep going until the rest of me catches up. Well done on making progress with runs, some of those cyclists probably couldn't do half the other stuff you can do.

Eleanor that is amazing you have 6lb off so quickly! Well done on getting back into it so quickly following a proper break.

My legs were aching so much yesterday from p90x3, dd2 kept needing me to tie her shoe laces and it was agony! Ended up not exercising beyond trip to the park. Did MMX today (basically lazily using Purple as my scheduler Blush ) and I love it, the warm up was great for my aches and pains too. I was pretty clueless towards the end though, especially the gladiator one - I would love to be able to do that though - looks hardcore Grin I love Alice and Kyle especially in that workout they really get stuck in.

yumyumpoppycat · 13/04/2017 10:02

Does anyone else have an advert for a free fitness tracker on this thread?

Purpleraindeer · 13/04/2017 13:46

No - I just have an ad for summer holidays. They really can read my mind!

Just did eccentric Lower so I expect I will be struggling on stairs tomorrow too poppy. Was a rest day yesterday but I worked out anyway by doing a hard core shopping trip. Grin I bought a lot of stuff. Bloody sizing is mad - depending on where I went I ranged from a 4 (!) to a 10. Seems mental really - my BMI is 22 so it's not as if I'm really skinny. I am exactly the same weight as I was 3mths ago but I wonder whether I'm a bit smaller with more muscle. That would be good.

Eleanor - that is an amazing gain/loss! Keep posting on trinity and perhaps we could do an insanity week together when you're on your contrast week.

Good diet is so hard. I think we all need to remember just how much effort it takes for those girls in the beachbody vids to achieve their bodies and give ourselves a bit of a break. theyre all measuring out their food, working out multiple times per day and following some crazy nutrition plan which is probably totally incompatible with normal life. We could all do that too, but for me, frankly a six pack just isn't worth it! Smile

Reastie · 13/04/2017 17:43

I often wonder how much time those bb people in the workouts spend working out usually. What do you think? When I have looked at Tania the machines fb page I get the impression she does one BB video most days but how can she be so athletic from just that, do you think she's also an instructor and then goes on to spend several hours a day teaching workout classes?

No workout here today or tomorrow but I need to try to get my physio weights in tonight. Done two runs, a cycle, and a home workout with minute long moves I could do. Not great workouts but I'm aiming for four a week at present so hit my magic number.

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 15/04/2017 07:16

They must do 2x per day I'd have thought. I know someone who entered one of those bikini body competitions and she worked out 2x per day and had a v strict diet of eating v specific foods at particular times so was always carrying round Tupperware of chicken breast and avocado and eating it at random times. It was so disruptive and strange - she never ate the same food or ate at the same time. She also couldn't be part of anyone else's plans for the day as gym visits were at a specific time. Anyway - she did end up looking amazing but wasn't worth the cost (in my view anyway!)

I'm having a crisis. Am away for a few days and have just gone onto the secret site and p90x3 isn't on there?! Argh. I'm going to do some random workouts for a few days as don't have DVDs with me. Which 21df or 21df extreme don't need weights? Are there any hammer and chisel which don't need weights?

Reastie · 15/04/2017 10:30

I don't know 21df purple but turbofire have hiit workouts not using weights and I like the les mills combat workouts (hiit one does use weights though) especially the live one. Neither are overly hardcore though. Erm.... piyo doesn't have weights.

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 15/04/2017 20:32

Purple enjoy your hol - Chisel agility, 10 min chisel abs, 10 min hammer abs are weight free but all the others have weights.

I hope your friend has relaxed a bit now she achieved the goal, would be quite sad to live like that long term. Tony H was measuring himself up to a 30 yo on upper body workout I did today and said to him 'if I only knew what I know now when I was 30' and have to say I did wonder what he would tell himself to do!

So yes I did eccentric upper body today and it was awful!! I totally suck at pull ups and push ups {wails} guess I will have to try and do that workout once a week and try to get better.

We went to Windsor this afternoon and did quite a lot of walking which was good but I have counteracted that by making today American day for dinner which means burgers, avocados, potato skins AND curly fries, apple pie, ice cream.....at least yesterday was Greek day so more healthy (we are trying to get the kids eating more variety, dp has just bought an amazon dot so they also put in requests for music from the country while having dinner).

Have a great weekend everyone.
