I found Asylum 2 not as hard to be honest...in a cardio sense. You need to be good agility wise but honestly I love vol 2. I love vol 1 too but there were a lot of times where I was like wtf? especially with the crazy moves. I liked working out with Autumn but not as good as Shaun. I've worked out with him twice now..best experience of my life. I feel more of a connection with Shaun because he is such a great motivator.
I did Max 30 when it first came out and every time I try and do it again, it kills me literally. I don't know how I made through the 80 days. I did 21df on holiday but took resistance bands and had to modify moves a lot. where are you off to on holiday? I work in a school so get the breaks off and I tell you I am having at least 1 pyjama day!

Theromanempire · 11/02/2018 13:14

disappointed wow, I am so Envy of you working out with Autumn - I have a proper girl crush on her Grin I bet it was awesome (and I much prefer her to Shaun T as I find his motivating stuff a bit cringeworthy - 'hydrate your life' fgs Hmm)

So this week I have done:

Monday - 80DO Total Body Core
Tuesday - Clubbercise
Wednesday - 80DO Cardio Core
Thursday - rest day
Friday - 80DO Legs
Saturday - 80DO AAA
Sunday - Core De Force (25 min one) and 21DF pilates fix

I am now officially broken now Grin

Am going to repeat this for the 4 weeks of Phase 1 of 80DO (maybe change Sunday's workout round to mix it up). Am really enjoying the 80DO workouts and even DH has stopped moaning about the resistance bands now we have got used to them.

Hope you are all doing ok?

Purpleraindeer · 11/02/2018 19:44

Bloody hell roman. That is one hell of a week. I wimped out of Sat’s workout as I was tired. I’d had a late night and an early start so was feeling a bit sorry for myself. I used to be so good at handling sleep deprivation - now one bad night and I’m ruined!

Did 21dfx power strength extreme today. Really didn’t want to workout at all but made myself do it and felt better for it. Had to use secret site and it’s now not showing videos at all anymore so had to search the whole site for them. Has that happened to anyone else

Theromanempire · 11/02/2018 19:51

purple Yes, the older ones aren't in the albums anymore but always come up as individual videos when you search. It's hard though if you can't remember exactly what they are called so have no idea what you are searching for 🙈

yumyumpoppycat · 12/02/2018 17:53

Dissapointed that is fantastic that you got to work out with autumn! What is the timed nutrition all about? Enjoy your pyjama day Grin

Well done on working out at weekend Purple. I haven't been feeling like it at the mo to be honest but have caught up a little thanks to a double yesterday.

Roman you are so on it at the moment - well done!!

les mills workouts - yesterday I did a less professional workout from their site, I think it was designed specifically for home workout and under the functional section? But it was a weights workout and a bar or step wasn't necessary - so a good one to try if anyone signs up to the freebie month. Also did a Shabam dance workout, felt a bit daft but less so than with hip hop abs! Body balance (yoga) this morning, I have improved on balance but was rubbish for the proper core stuff.

Theromanempire · 12/02/2018 20:15

yumyum stop tempting me with talk of all these Les Mills workouts Grin I need to focus on 80DO for the next 9 weeks and can't afford to have my head turned Wink

Just done week 2 Total Body Core which was an hour long..totally got lost with the time this afternoon as got caught up playing a game with the DC which they insisted I finish after DH came back from home ready to exercise. So I am now sat here starving waiting for my tea to be ready!

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 12/02/2018 20:48

Thermo that’s a full on week! Hope you’ve had some dinner by now.

Disappointed Envy of autumn and Shock of asylum 2, I too have tried asylum but it made me ill as well.

Yumy that workout sounds interesting. I did body balance this morning and tried a strength one when previously I’ve been doing the —easy— balance ones. I really enjoy the balance bits and I’d do it every day if only for the relaxing meditation!

Still plodding on, did BA on LMOD on Saturday, 5k run in Sunday. Hoping for a dvd tomorrow morning but haven’t decided what yet, thinking maybe a step one. Also trying to decide whether to go to BA class on Wednesday. I love it so but as it’s half term it involves driving 20minutes for class, driving home afterwards to collect dd from my parents then driving dd all the way back again to meet a friend. I don’t know if I want to spend an hour extra in the car to do it when I can Utd squeeze something in at home so much easier.

Purpleraindeer · 14/02/2018 09:43

Reastie your dilemma explains exactly why the only workouts I ever do are home DVDs. I know classes can be good (I enjoyed CrossFit) and runs are fun but they both just take longer and require more logistics!

Managed max30 cardio challenge on Monday and t25 core cardio yesterday. Had a disaster actually as only had 35mins available for shower and workout and then wasted valuable minutes searching on the secret site for isometrix which I had planned to do as I was a bit tired. Couldn’t find it and panic selected a t25 which I was much too tired for and I limped through it. Sigh. Might do a workout later or might have a rest day. Can’t decide

Roman - what do I search on to find the Alo workouts? I was going to try the one you recommended

Theromanempire · 14/02/2018 10:38

Reastie I agree with Purple that the thought of gym classes is alien to me now (having been a total gym bunny for years). I just about manage my weekly clubbercise class but even that seems like a lot of effort to get in the car and go Blush the convenience of just popping upstairs to get dressed and then getting straight into exercise suits me (although I do miss the total buzz of a Body Attack class Sad I could do with a 'pay as you go' one that I could just do as and when but no instructors do those because of the licence fees that come with Les Mills classes)

Purple the 80DO workouts are in the Album section of the Videos section (I think it seems to be the older programmes like 21DF that have disappeared). When I go into the Video section, the 80DO workouts are at the top of the list (they are numbered and the latest one is 23 at the moment). So the workout is 3 - Cardio Core (Phase 1) so it should be near the top or try searching for that exact phase. It is pretty much pure cardio for 30 minute (alternates between 30 seconds of skipping and 30 seconds of a HIIT move) with a plank move thrown in every 3 minutes so if you want a good straight-forward cardio workout, I would recommend it. I think I said below that you could switch it off after 30 minutes as the last 5 minutes is just repeating all the plank moves one after another.

I am having a rest day today as my body is screaming at me - not hurting but it just feels weary and tired. I did Total Body Core on Monday night which was an hour workout then yesterday I did 21df Upper Fix then clubbercise.

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 14/02/2018 16:47

Yes, I agree with Home workouts being total great use of time and brill in many ways. Usually BA is perfect as it’s very close to work and I do it on the way to work but a special trip there and back required a lot of time and effort.

Yesterday i did a 55 minute body step workout. It’s weird as I find step generally easier than say insanity or body attack. My calorie burn per minute however is higher with step despite finding it less challenging Confused . I’ve always found this with easier vs harder workouts but never understood quite why.

Today did a 30minute BA workout on LMOD but did a purple and limped through it as was my fifth workout in five days with no rest days and my body feels like it needs a rest day really. Still, rest day tomorrow for me.

Thermo there’s a BA pay as you go class at my local leisure centre which I keep meaning to try but I’m not sure how easy it is to get a space, I imagine it’ll be booked up super quick.

yumyumpoppycat · 14/02/2018 21:35

Reastie that's interesting re easy harder workouts - I think it could be that things like pushups you can only do so many before your arms give up but with things like stepping it is physically doable, and maybe more enjoyable, so obviously getting the heart going without you noticing Confused It's the workout sweet spot.

Roman I had a rest for similar reasons, hint of a backache and had sore thighs for days, but it has paid off as right now my legs feel ok. Did body attack yest.

Purple I hate that when online stuff buffers or can't be found on a tight schedule - that is a definite advantage of dvds.

Theromanempire · 15/02/2018 09:04

reastie that is interesting about the pay as you go BA class. I shall do some investigating here Smile

Well I didn't have a rest day yesterday due to my plans for the evening being cancelled so I was at home and DH wanted me to work out with him and have my rest day today. It did make more sense but I definitely definitely need (and am having) a rest day today!! Did 80 DO Cardio Core - loved it. I have bought some proper sliders (as opposed to paper plates Grin) and was surprised as to how much harder it made it to stay in plank - even if you aren't moving your legs, you are having to battle to keep your legs steady!

Purpleraindeer · 15/02/2018 15:57

I now cant even see videos on the secret site let alone the albums Sad. Couldn’t find 80do even when I searched on that exact title. Boo. Might uninstall and reinstall the app to see if that helps....

Interesting about the sliders roman. I just assumed they were a load of old rubbish and only thrown into the pack with the dvd to make it look better value. I shouldn’t be so cynical

Totally annoying morning this morning. Secret site just kept buffering. After each vid I tried stopped after 30s I got frustrated and went out for a quick run. Was surprised how much hard work I found it actually - my legs are a lot more tired than they would be after a dvd. Was good to get outdoors though

Theromanempire · 15/02/2018 17:09

purple I use an internet browser for the secret site rather than the app which might be why it's different? Any chance you can use a browser?

Yes I am surprised about the sliders aswell...they literally feel like your feet are constantly slipping away from you so you have to engage your core more to keep steady!

Well done on the run...bloody hate running Grin

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 16/02/2018 19:44

I’ve done it, I’ve sent an email to cancel my gym membership. I don’t want to cancel it as I love BA so but I just can’t justify the cost. I’m going to continue LMOD and do some B.B. bits and a run here and there.

Did cxworx today for the first time. Had to modify but felt like a good core workout, will keep trying that one, and was excited to see Dan as in Dan and Rachel from combat was one of the presenters.

Interesting about the sliders, I always felt like the would be a con as well.

Purple I hate it when the internet goes all hooky mid workout, so frustrating. I get really cross about it Blush

yumyumpoppycat · 17/02/2018 15:01

I am so in agreement about running feeling harder.
Good to know sliders work better than paper plates Grin so not just a gimmick.

Reastie I forgot to cancel lmod, not upset as have used it enough. Although they did send me a valentines offer of 9 months for 12 to buy for my valentine so I am hoping to cancel this month and maybe get a similar offer to remain signed up.

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 17/02/2018 15:51

Oh yumy I didn’t get that offer and I would’ve signed myself up for that too.

Did BA this morning on LMOD, was hard work as my glutes really ached from the cxworx yesterday. Hoping for a run tomorrow glutes and weather permitting.

I find running a really really good heart rate workout as I find my heart rate is nice and high throughout, more so than almost any other workout I do, it feels like it’s doing my heart good!

yumyumpoppycat · 17/02/2018 22:30

The offer was in my email, it was for me to buy a year's membership (at cost of 9 months) for someone else though. Decided it was too much of a faff to buy membership for dp so I could use it, but maybe I should have! I will have a look at cxworx tomorrow.

I did bodycombat 65 - I was prob doing poor technique but felt it was too easy apart from the abs bit at the end. My core just doesn't get stronger grrr. I like to blame being a shorty and having 3 x 9lbs babies but apparently it's my breathing according to pilates teacher.

Purpleraindeer · 18/02/2018 17:23

I think the idea of buying les mills for someone as a valentines present is fraught with danger - would almost certainly be misinterpreted! My DH got me t25 after I had ds (at my request) and everyone was horrified and asked whether I was offended. Smile

Am now back from holiday. Am hoping my motivation has come back with me. I’ve not been keen to workout over the last few weeks and it has been a real effort which is unlike me as I usually really want to. Am back on p90x3/max30. Did incinerator yesterday and triometrics today. Feel quite flabby so am toying with doing a bit of dieting for a few weeks. Let’s see how I feel tomorrow when I’m back at work!

Hope you’re all well

Theromanempire · 19/02/2018 13:03

Happy Monday everyone Smile

Well done on the weekend workouts.

I am still ploughing on with 80DO - really enjoying it aswell. There was one workout last week where Autumn was really struggling - it was good to know that even the professionals have bad days!!! Starting week 3 today.

I can definitely tell the difference - clothes are fitting better which is always good. Only noticeable to me but nice to be able to put my jeggings on and still be able to breathe Grin

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 19/02/2018 17:33

Thermo that sounds brilliant, glad to hear it’s working well.

I did a 30 min run yesterday but my glutes were still hurting from cxworx the previous Thursday! Today I did body balance as a gentle stretch to try and help them but I’m getting sharp pains in my glutes which doesn’t feel good! Was hoping for cxworx again tomorrow but think I may leave it until later in the week when it’s followed by a rest day.

I got a call and an email today from the manager at my gym. They must’ve got my email telling them I’d like to cancel my membership. I was quite honest and gave them a list of reasons why I was unhappy. I’m rubbish irl in person so just wanted to email and be done with it. One of my reasons was hearing staff moan about management in ear shot of me in the gym so I’m wondering if he just wants me to tell him who they were Hmm .

Purple I’m sure in a week you’ll be back with your mojo flying high and back to looking forward to hard core.

Purpleraindeer · 20/02/2018 21:25

That is great roman! You must be delighted. It is working quickly if you can feel the difference in a few weeks Star

How did you get on at the gym reastie? I hope you held firm and didn’t sign back up again.

Had my post hol weigh in. Not good. I was all enraged and then remembered the wine, puddings, big meals, snacking etc etc and then it didn’t seem so surprising Blush anyway am back on mfp and have had a good 2 days. Will keep it up until I get back to my happy weight. Hopefully a few weeks.

yumyumpoppycat · 22/02/2018 10:45

Roman that is fantastic I am so happy your hard work is getting results.

Purple I am sure a lot of it is water weight and that usually comes off pretty quick if you nip it in the bud.

To be honest I am in total confusion about my weight at the moment, I have been trying to eat more healthily many more beans and veg, a lot less eggs, meat etc but possibly as a result I am craving carbs - crisps, chocolate etc alongside this and expanding by the minute! Clothes are seriously getting tight now. I want to eat less animal products so this is a real conundrum. Everyday I plan to start getting back on it with weight loss and then it falls by the wayside. Guess I better get serious with MFP too!

yumyumpoppycat · 22/02/2018 10:50

Forgot to talk about exercise Blush I did csworx yesterday OMG it would probably have been easy for some of you but it was heavy on the cycling legs in the air which I am useless at. Also did bodybalance today which had more legs in the air stuff gah!!! Was feeling unhappy and crap with my fitness this morning but I just did a little stretch and there is some slight acheage arund my tummy which I am taking as positive sign that the cyling legs in the air stuff might pay off if I keep it up.

Theromanempire · 22/02/2018 13:58

purple once you get back into the swing of exercise, the weight/flabbiness will disappear in no time! It is crap though when you feel all your hard work has been for nothing and amazing how quickly you feel that you are getting out of shape Sad

Yum if you are not eating protein (which is what it sounds like), then I guess it is natural that your body will crave carbohydrates as this gives you the quick fix of energy it obviously needs. If you don't want to eat meat or eggs, is there any other source of protein that you could eat?

So I take back what I said the other day - I am now in a period of having 'fat' days Sad I think I got carried away with a little bit of success and therefore tried on some trousers that I probably last wore about 12 months ago (they were wearable as long as I covered up the muffin top they gave me Grin). I could barely do them up and they were really tight round my bottom Hmm I guess I have put more weight on than I wanted to admit so whilst I have lost some, I still have a way to go to even get back to where I was this time last year..let alone then lose the 3 stone I also need to lose (it is hard when you don't weigh yourself as you rely on what your eyes see and what your clothes feel like and that is very subjective).

I am also a bit concerned as one of the main aims of 80DO is for 'booty gains' (as Autumn calls it) and actually my booty does not need anything extra so I am a bit worried that my bum is going to become even bigger/bulked up when that is not the look I am going for Grin
