Back from the festival and back onto Body Beast! (I took Sunday off too to make sure I was recovered!) I quite enjoyed the shoulder one and am getting better at changing weights without falling over them all.

Chest and triceps again yesterday - and I'm forcing myself not to do a double to give my upper body the time to recover unlike last week, so just legs today. I'll probably regret this tomorrow but it doesn't feel quite enough on it's own, as he goes a it too fast for me to lift as heavy as my legs can take - so I added in some Trinity exercises after! (3 x 10 goblet squats, 3 x 10 Romanian deadlifts and 3 x 10 sumo deadlifts Grin )

I get married in TEN DAYS (aaargh) so I'm being very good with food!

Purple I love protein powder - I cook with it and have it in porridge! :) And well done on the pull ups!

Reastie you'll get there - when I was ill and couldn't work out I told myself even small things was better than sittting on the sofa. And you're doing more tham my small things! :)

Tsotofamily · 15/03/2017 19:56

Hi all
Been lurking but havent had time to really post plus ive not done any beachbody exercises. I have managed to keep up with my running which i really enjoying, started w6 today. Going to see if i can start getting in a 30 min workout on a mon or tues now im sort of back into the swing of things with work, housework etc

Reastie - glad to see ur back to exercising
Eleanor - hope you have a lovely wediing and the weather stays nice

Purpleraindeer · 15/03/2017 21:21

You're a glutton for punishment Eleanor. Maybe instead of not being able to lift your arms, this week you won't be able to move your legs?

Congrats on getting married too - how exciting! You'll be a super-buff bride

Hi tso. Glad you're getting into the swing of things. I found getting back from mat leave hard- especially trying to get into a new routine

Did agility x again tonight. I think I quite like it.... horrible push up/pull up workout tomorrow.

disappointed101 · 17/03/2017 09:51

Congrats Eleanor on your marriage! I will be doing Bb shortly.
Sorry for being a bit MIA. I was not in a good place with food. So started this week again with the 21 day fix containers and planning everything I eat.
Are you doing x3 purple?

Purpleraindeer · 18/03/2017 17:50

good to hear from you disappointed. Hope the food reset works out. Don't be too hard on yourself. Are you still doing p90x2? I'm doing x3 and enjoying it. Am finding it hard though and wasn't expecting too. I guess I've done a lot of cardio for the last few months and am not very strong anymore.

In other news I'm now one of those people who wears sportswear when not doing sport. Got some new leggings from lululemon and am wearing them constantly. DH has told me to stop talking about how much I like them Smile

disappointed101 · 18/03/2017 22:17

Yes just finishing p90x2. I'm ready to move on to be honest. Did you see the video on Facebook about doing everything in gym wear? It was really funny. I bought x3 recently. Will probably do it in September now.
The eating is going well though I think I had an ibs flare up today..v painful. I only had eggs and fruit for breakfast though unless they were bad eggs.

Purpleraindeer · 20/03/2017 08:43

It's quiet on here at the moment?
Rest day today after warrior and cvx over weekend. I've got a weird one sided pain in my bum/lower back. Obv one bum cheek is weaker than the other! Blush

Reastie · 20/03/2017 18:54

Hello, sorry, I'm here, I just don't want to keep bringing the thread down all the time.

Bought myself a step aerobics step at the week end as over Easter I won't be able to do running or swimming with dd around so hoping to do some step you tube workouts. It's so big though, I don't know where I'm going to store it!

In bad news all my injuries are playing up ATM. I think the steroid injection may be starting to wear off as it's slowly going back to exactly how it was before

Purple I had a massage the other day and one glute was agony compared to the other so my bum cheeks are wonky too!

Disappointed is the the New Zealand video with people talking about active wear? I love that, I'd totally live in activewear if I could! I have more workouts it trousers than normal trousers. Hope you're ibs flair up is better now. I get that too and hate it so really sympathise.

I found p90x2 really really difficult when I did it, many of the moves I modified or couldn't do but the ones I could do felt like they were very good exercises.

Eleanor wow those days will go so quick!

Tso running is good, well done for keeping that up

yumyumpoppycat · 20/03/2017 19:27

Similar to Reastie, I have just felt run down recently, and more work and haven't been exercising. hoping to be back on it this week at some point.

Reastie - will it take a few injections maybe? Hope you enjoy the step though - quite good for lifting mood. Mine comes apart to help with storage - maybe yours does too? Still quite big though.

Congratulations Eleanor!!!! Grin First thread wedding? Flowers

Purple which leggings did you get? I am cross with myself as bought some capris on amazon lightning deals and they are fugly but cant bring myself to return them, or the gigantic sports bra I bought.

Dissapointed well done for doing p90x2 for so long it sounds v challenging.

Waves to roman, tsoto and everyone else.

EleanorAbernathy · 21/03/2017 11:30

I'm still here too - had to have an enforced rest day yesterday as I woke up with the achiest legs in the world! Is it possible to get DOMS 5 days after a leg workout? Unless I've been squatting in my sleep or something!
Today I fancy a bit of Jillian Michaels - probably 6W6P as it makes my abs hurt more than anything Sagi Kalev or Shaun T does! Then I'm going to put the pull-up bar up and try lowering myself from it a few times - my new goal is unassisted pull-ups.

Final wedding weigh-in and measure on Thursday morning! Then it will all go horrible wrong for a week Grin I've googled and the most you can put on in a week is about 6lbs and most of that will be water weight so I don't think I can do TOO much damage!

Question - does anyone know what P90X3 CVX is like? I've just noticed I have it as a bonus with Body Beast! Is it worth a go? Not decided what my last workout tomorrow will be yet.

Purpleraindeer · 22/03/2017 08:49

Eleanor - 6lb in one week sounds like you're setting yourself a challenge! I hope you have a great day and honeymoon. Def give cvx a go. I find it hard - it starts off feeling like it should be easy but by the end I'm normally dying. I use a 4kg weight.

Can't remember who asked but my leggings were lululemon 7/8ths. I don't use them to work out tho. They're too posh for that!

Theromanempire · 23/03/2017 16:57

This thread had dropped off my 'Threads that I am on' Shock Really must make an effort to post more Blush I do read it every day but I find it difficult to post on my phone so have to wait for when I am logged on to a computer and then I forget!

Eleanor good luck for your wedding - hope the sun continues to shine for you Smile And I think I could easily put on 6lb in 1 week Blush

I would love to live in my workout leggings but firstly, I can't wear them for work Grin and secondly, it is not a pretty sight so daren't wear them out in public!

Still hybriding here - love the variety of workouts and trainers. Still eating crap though and not sure how I can stop it. I am effectively doing 16:8 as I don't eat breakfast but I am eating a lot of calories in my 8-hour window Blush

I have joined a FB group which is one of Autumn's challenges - it is quite inspiring to see the huge variety of people posting videos on there of them working out - all shapes and sizes. There is a common theme of struggling with eating though so I am not alone.

To whoever it is (disappointed maybe?) that is going to use Autumn's containers - please update what it is like. I do know that portion control is a huge issue for me so they do look like they might be an option for me but do you have to chop everything up to see if it fits in the container (I am thinking of chicken breasts/steaks for example)? How much meal prep does it actually require?

yumyumpoppycat · 23/03/2017 17:36

Well the week is not out yet for getting back on it but I am rubbish at the moment just feel worn out.

Whole eating thing is way harder than it should be too you are right Roman! The facebook pages sound worth checking out. I think using the pots could be a faff - but if you end up not using them they are good for school snacks Grin

Purple I was in Primark today buying school tights for my girls, pretty much everything in the women's dept was awful, but the sportswear section had some quite trendy looking sports leggings - not sure if they would be good for working out in or not though.

Reastie · 25/03/2017 07:38

Eleanor mot long to go now!

Thermo I'm also interested in the containers but I have them but have never used them. I keep thinking they would dbe useful for snacks but is the point of them to actually measure everything?

Still not doing so well due to injuries etc and feeling uber flabby :( going for a mini jog this morning and have got a great looking very 80s step YouTube video to do on my step on Monday. Physiology again on Thursday but I can't feel a huge amount of progress on any injury despite spending ages on the exercises.

Hello and happy Mother's Day. Hope you're all taking it easy.

Poppy - you sound like you just need a break. We've had a series of long lingering illnesses in our house and everyone is run down.

I've always wondered the same re those pots. Seem like a good idea but I ended up working on the simple premise of unlimited veg, unlimited protein, less than half a deck of cards of carbs each meal. No idea about fats. Maybe the same as carbs?

Roastie - good to hear from you. Recovery is a frustratingly slow process so don't get disheartened.

Need to do warrior today and then will be onto my recovery week. Am relieved. I need the rest as I'm all aches and pains. A lot of cakes and chocs have turned up here for Mother's Day too so will need to do something to offset them!

yumyumpoppycat · 26/03/2017 17:31

Happy Mothers day everyone...and happy honeymoon Eleanor if your wedding has happened yet. We had swimming then went to my mums for lunch and I got to give new baby nephew a hug Grin

Purple sounds like recovery week is well deserved for you.

Reastie I feel the same as still not back to it but in my case I have put on a fair bit of weight which is really annoying as I was down to a new low weight before this. grr.

I think the pots fall down a bit in that some things are made up of a mix of fat/carbs/protein. Probably good if following beachbody replies though.

Purpleraindeer · 27/03/2017 20:56

Well I didn't do warrior yesterday as I felt tired (and lazy tbh!) Blush
Did it tonight instead. For the first time ever I got through the elevator push ups without a break and even remembered that Second floor for Tony Horton is first floor for us.
Recovery week starts tomorrow Smile

Reastie · 28/03/2017 06:51

Wow purple, that's amazing, well done. It was worth waiting and getting the results on the push ups.

Did step DVD with my new step yesterday but I've decided I probably shouldn't be doing step as for past three workouts on it my knee has really played up. What am I going to do DVD wise whilst dd is home from school?! I'm running out of options! I think I'll ask physio if I can do tf hiit workouts as they are short and I can modify the burpees and anything else. I'm worried she'll say rest it again :/

Purpleraindeer · 29/03/2017 20:18

Am quite enjoying my recovery week. Isometrix last night then Pilates x tonight. Pilates moves were done much too quickly and not enough explanation of form. My abs are jelly now tho so I might not have got full benefit but it definitely did something. Some moves looked like they should be easy but were really difficult

Hope everyone is well! Smile

Reastie · 29/03/2017 20:46

Purple I felt exactly the same amount Pilates. I did it once and could see myself having an injury from doing it wrong and haven't done it again. I much prefer the yoga workout in that set. Glad you're enjoying recovery week.

I am so excited as I have actual aches in my thighs from exercise, this is beyond exciting . However, all I've done is two trips to London walking around a bit in the past three days and a run on top of the mini leg ache I had yesterday. Usually I'd have no ache from such activity so it's bad that I'm getting unfit but it's good I'm aching a bit from physical activity.

Reastie · 30/03/2017 20:48

Can anyone give me ideas for exercise drill moves? Physiology has said I can try making up my own little workouts at home when I asked her (yay) but nothing high intensity, to do with lunges/anything that could irritate my knee/one legged intensity work/a lot of jumping/nothing involving arms moving about too much. I'm really struggling!

So far I've got jogging on the spot, high knees, butt kicks, football legs, there's a move from a p90x DVD of some description where you stand till and lift one leg out in front of you straight and lift your arm up at the same time like a really slow strange on the spot March that works the core, thinking that only without arms up high. Also wondering about weighted side bends but there must be more!! Maybe globe jumps but stepping rather than jumping.

I'm thinking if I can get maybe 10 moves I can do then a minute each then repeat. Any more ideas for moves I could try?

Physio not physiology

yumyumpoppycat · 31/03/2017 08:33

Sounds like a good plan Reastie - you have a pretty good selection already. I used to find I was ok with shallow cross jacks. Are you able to do any light free weights yet, maybe lying on the floor for support or something? A Rosemary connoley dvd I used to have had a kind of stepping in a box move , I think they have it in t25 too - gah cant think what its called!! Would it be worth watching any old easier Davina type dvds you may have for some inspiration, they are often lower impact.

Hope you are doing well Purple.

Purpleraindeer · 31/03/2017 10:31

That's great reastie. What about mummy kicks (insanity). Or the whole cvx workout with no weights doing the non jumping option? I'll have a think and see if I can think of more.

Accidental rest day yesterday due to work. Sad did accelerator today. Felt knackered and it was a bit of a struggle. Why does Tracy smile so much - it's not natural! No idea why I'm tired really. Pilates x gave me some weird aches yesterday so it obviously did something.

Purpleraindeer · 31/03/2017 10:32

Ooh - what about speed 1.0 from t25 on the low intensity option?
