Did a barre workout on les mills today, 30 mins included light weights. Was good and quiet ouchy on the thighs and shoulders in places! Sort of workout I couldn't do in public but enjoyed spinning around Grin

Ooh you’re all tempting me more and more with les mills!

Did max put cardio tonight. I’ve had a very sedentary day so it was a bit of a shock to the system when it started. My poor legs were a bit ShockConfused. I feel great now though. I do love max30. The workouts go quickly and you get a buzz afterwards. I can’t say the same for 21dfx even though I like them too.

We’ve not had anyone join this thread for aaaaages. I thought we would given that it is jan.

Did Flat Abs Fix then went to Clubbercise so have done a double tonight. Can't do anything for the next 2 days unless I get up at 5am which, now I have got out of the habit, seems very unappealing!

I was thinking the same about new people, surely there'd me some given it's January.

Hoping for first time in trainers/normal shoes today with blisters to do BA class. I haven't tried any normal fitting shoes on yet (been wearing a pair a size too big to work this week!) as remaining positive I'll be ok for BA. I'll be severely disappointed if it hurts too much to do the class.

Went swimming on Monday but alas the January fitness people were all in the pool at the gym meaning a lot of choppy pool water and squeezing for space in the lane (it gets awkward when everyone goes at different paces).

I've been invited to a coffee morning with mums at dds school tomorrow and I'd like to go and feel I should go as it's the only one I can make this term (others are on work days) but I have so much to do and was hoping to sneak in a cheeky run tomorrow morning. Not sure what to do Hmm

Purple I love that post workout Shaun t high you get. Best thing ever is insanity pure cardio lying in the floor at the end catching my breath before the stretches when everyone else is just too exhausted to do anything (including Shaun t). Best feeling ever.

Right now need to decide what LMOD to do this morning as I have a clear hour! Might try a longer one and switch it off if it gets too tedious.

I couldn't find Bodypump 107 but did 102 which was 55 mins. A decent amount( probably the majority ) of the workout just used plates/weights, I think two rounds included a bench so I used my aerobics step but it would be possible to modify and use the floor. I did feel lost at the beginning of the workout which was where a bar was used so I might skip through some of that next time to bring the time down a bit. I used 2.5 kg weights but will try and use lighter and heavier as well next time. There was one round with the three men, one of whom had a sexy French accent, just alternating raising the weights; I loved that section!

Yumy I think that's the one I did, was the one with three men the bicep track? I loved that one!

Still haven't decided about coffee morning, I have tons to do and I'm busy in the afternoon with the physio so the morning's my only time to get stuff done and have a run. Whatever I pick I'll have guilt to what I didn't pick so there's no winning option here.

BA class was great this morning, I love the new final track before abs, it has a great mix of tuck jumps and air jack things.

Hello bit, no need to be scared. What exercise are you doing or planning to try?

I’ve no idea what ba is like apart from your description reastie but I have to say the idea of a whole track of tuck jumps and air jack (whatever that is?!) sounds horrific. I find the 1min tuck jumps in tabata Power enough to make me feel sick!

Hopefully will do warrior later. Have been sat on my bum for most of the day so definitely need it!

Bodyattack purple. It's on LMOD (although not the release I did at the class today). Sadly not a whole track of tuck jumps and air jacks, they were mixed with high knee runs/jumps etc, but enough to be damn hard work! air jacks are these but quicker and a round of about 16 quick ones . It's hard when you're already spent from all the other moves!

How was warrior purple - that is a bit of a love hate workout for me!

Reastie YES that is the workout - so it was biceps I was working on!

No exercise today, but I just watched how to lose weight well on ch 4od and there was an interesting snippet, the presenter/Dr guy had a body scan which showed he was a TOFI (thin on outside fat on inside) with a high level of visceral fat. He was told to do HIIT workouts for 12 weeks - I wasn't paying proper attention but think it was 3 hours a week exercise in total and although he didn't really change shape on the outside he managed to lose a litre of the dangerous visceral fat. So that gives me hope that I might be healthier than I look right now! Also makes me more determined to get the workouts in.

Hi, I’ve been reading the thread and thought it was time to post and say hello!
I have just signed up for Beachbody on Demand and I am 7 days into the 21 day fix, enjoying it so far although I have found that the workouts are making me crazy hungry! I’ve actually put a couple of pounds on but my clothes don’t feel any tighter. Do any of you follow the eating plans with the containers etc? I lost 3 stones last year following SlimmingWorld and I am reluctant to start following a different eating plan (although it has been pretty much out of the window for a couple of weeks anyway)
I took photos and measurements before I started 21df and will hopefully be able to see a difference in 2 weeks time, I was planning on giving either insanity or 80 day obsession a try after I have finished 21df

I am looking for inspiration to try new classes. I’m a big treadmill runner and weights kinda gal so I want to break out a bit.

Having said that, my local gym (virgin) is trialling a new treadmill HIIT class called RunTribe and I’m a bit addicted. It gets you running at different speeds, inclines and mixes it all up. I’m loving it st the moment.

Hi you’re - welcome. I’ve never done 21df but I’ve done 21df extreme which I really liked. I didn’t use the containers as it felt a bit of a faff but the idea seemed good. Well done on your weight loss - that’s amazing. Are you wanting to lose more or just maintain and get fitter/stronger? You might find if you upped your protein intake you’d feel more full?

Bit - I did a class called Barry’s boot camp which sounds a lot like what you’re describing. It was hard. I thought I would actually be sick at one point. HIIT is amazing for running - I don’t run much anymore but when I do I find I’m a lot faster and fitter than when I just ran with no other exercise.

Did the challenge today - now back at 14 press ups 12 (assisted) pull ups per set and felt actually totally manageable. Maybe next time I need to start on the unassisted pulls before using the assist? I fear this might reveal I still can’t do them unassisted which is why I haven’t tried! I told DH I did 112 press ups tonight and he said I was scary. I take that as a compliment! Grin

Urgh underweather again. I keep getting bugs but nothing too full on, which is good, but frequency is embarrassing to keep saying I am missing another workout! Think I will do something gentle from les mills this afternoon.

Do you prefer yourmywife or dave, yourmywifenowdave? Grin Welcome, how was it signing up to BBOD and how is 21 day fix going? Your weight gain could just be down to changing workouts as that can cause a bit of water retention. I am not good for advice on this though as I have been an eating machine lately, reaaaaly hungry Shock

Bit Insanity is a good one to try if you want something different to weights, there is also insanity max 30 which is shorter but pos more intense. Treadmillworkout sounds really fun!

Oh no poor you poppy. This time of year is dreadful. I’ve not been actually ill but I’ve had a blocked nose and sore throat for a month. Roll on spring.

I do cvx with a 4kg weight which is probably the problem. Now I’ve done it that way for a few times I can’t back off and do a 2kg weight instead. Yes - I know that sounds ridiculous!

Sorry, for being so quiet, had huge iPad issues and was ipadless for two days and felt utterly lost!

Did BA workout on LMOD yesterday. Did one that was a mash up of various releases, it came up on the new release section. Really enjoyed it and would recommend for anyone else trying LMOD for trial. Annoying thing was I had to do it through my phone on the tv as no iPad and it was questionable whether the battery would make it through! Did a run today, just a short one but did 5k in 31 minutes which is a shorter but faster run than usual and there were some hilly bits.

Yumy that info re hiit and visceral fat is really interesting. I have a body fat percentage scales thing and according to that my visceral fat is on the lower side of average. Hope you feel better soon, I’ve been feeling like I’m fighting off a cold for the last few days and trying to take it a bit easy. There’s so much about.

Hello Dave, I’d stick with SW if you know you can work with it and it works for you. I don’t follow the B.B. food guides ever.

Bitoutof if you like weights have you tried a kettlebells class or body pump if you’re lookijg to try a class?

Purple I used to love adding up all my pull ups and press ups on that workout and telling dh how many I’d done! For for no pull up assist on the first round just to see what you can do. Btw you are crazy for doing cvx with 4 kg weights!

Ouch Purple cvx with 4kg! I think I tried that once and happily took up Tony's suggestion to go weight free half way through!

Reastie have you been able to find les mills on your fire stick? I did yoga today, only 20 mins - the morning workout. It was slightly more energetic than I was expecting! Was fine more or less but I really cant do the thing where you stand on one leg holding the toes of the other leg stretched in the air. pic lets just say I don't look like that!
