For C25K graduates who are taking the next step!

W10R1 this morning, 3x15min runs with minute walks in between. I wasn't at all sure I was going to finish but I did, checked MapMyRun & saw I'd done 6.3K.

Hadn't realised I could run that far!

Sat in McDs carb loading waiting for car to pass hopefully, it's MOT telling myself I really should run later as it's lovely day and my only day off this week... supposed to be doing 12K but been feeling crap still all weekend..this blooming peri-menopausal is crap makes me feel shit will try kick myself into trainers later...

TriGirl007 · 02/10/2017 14:29

Car passed its MOT so I went & ran 12.5k Grin body hurts but new size 8.5 men's trainers were comfy!

mrssunshinexxx · 03/10/2017 10:40

Name changed but used to be on here a lot just popping in to say hi did my first 10k back in April and got my 2nd one next month! X

TriGirl007 · 05/10/2017 16:10

Good luck with your 10k sunshine

I woke early so went out for 45mins this morning but hadn't realised that full street lights don't get switched back on until 6.30am! Only partial lights on at 6am and my new LED clip on light failed after 10mins 😬Still I finished the run even if I have felt tired all day now!

MulhuddartDrive · 05/10/2017 20:00

Wow, 6am runs are something I dream of literally, I roll over when the alarm goes off rather than achieve Blush

I've had a massively stressful day so a run would do me wonders but I'm finding it very hard to make myself get off the bed....

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 05/10/2017 20:54

I've been doing a 5k to work one morning a week and a 10k at weekends, but I've got several busy weekends coming up so I'm going to shift to running in three mornings a week and see how that goes.

Still not got round to booking the swimming lessons...!

MulhuddartDrive · 06/10/2017 12:37

I didn't manage to drag myself off the bed last night Blush so I got a before work 5k today.

MulhuddartDrive · 08/10/2017 22:18

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I did a body weight hiit workout at home yesterday and was sore today! I went for a run this evening to stretch myself out and managed 7k and as I did intervals (2mins slightly faster, 3mins slower) my overall pace was up too. Hesitant to say it, but I might be getting closer to my mojo again.

TriGirl007 · 09/10/2017 07:02

Sounds good mulddhart and fingersXed the mojo has worked its way back.

Sunday i try to do my “long” run. I got out just as sky turning pink at sunrise was lovely. Ran for 1.5hrs did 13.5k my longest yet but I had to stretch at 5&10k points. And some ouch sore foam rolling last night as muscles sore. The run “felt” ok but my body really feels it past 10k. I’m not sure how I’m going to get to HM at the moment!! But equally I remember 10k feeling like that so I’ll keep adding 0.5k each week and hopefully that works!

TriGirl007 · 13/10/2017 21:47

Re-did the nhs 5k+ speed podcast tonight and worked hard on the 1min sprints phew! Did solid 5k in total as I carried on after the podcast finished.

mrssunshinexxx · 15/10/2017 16:09

I've broke my 5k PB TWICE this week may not be the fastest but I'm so chuffed shows my training is working and I'm getting fitter Smile

TriGirl007 · 15/10/2017 16:34

Well done sunshine it’s nice when a run “clicks”.
I struggled on my longer run today to keep going, I did 11k but had planned 14k, was slow and had 3-4, 1min stops to stretch out sore legs.

TriGirl007 · 22/10/2017 18:05

Got 14.5k done this morning but was very weary the rest of the morning & legs tired. Was a good run much better than last weeks & I tried a new running route (a route I used to cycle lots) also clocked up 7k mid weekSmile hope others are enjoying the cooler weather? I actually did first half of the run with my jacket on as windchill was brrr but different from last weekends mad 19c!

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 25/10/2017 16:51

14.5K is brilliant, Tri! Every time I try to run with a jacket on it comes off in the first five minutes.

I've got into a morning run routine twice a week now & finally got round to visiting the local pool. The waiting list for adult lessons is now months long but I had a good time chugging up & down practising my breaststroke. Plus they have a loyalty scheme & a sauna so that needs to become a regular thing!

How's the mojo, Mul? And congratulations Mrs!

TriGirl007 · 25/10/2017 21:18

Well done on the swimming & running empress - check out some of the swimming tutorials on you tube I’ve picked up few tips off them for teaching myself frontcrawl I liked Effortless Swimming ones, and some of Australian ones were good.

Just been out for a 5k speed intervals session tonight listening to the NHS speed podcast I was feeling sick by the third 1min interval but did all 6 then carried on. Hoping it will help my longer runs. I do need to find time for a third run I think but not sure how at the mo!

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 04/11/2017 08:14

Thanks Tri, I'll have a look.

How's everyone doing?

OneMoStep · 04/11/2017 10:42

Tri, I've been doing that NHS speed intervals podcast recently - I find it really challenging! It's definitely made me faster in general though.

TriGirl007 · 06/11/2017 11:54

Quiet on here, hope everyone is healthy & enjoying the cooler runs.
I had a week off with a bug, but just got 12.5k done Smile felt good but very tired now! Luckily it’s my day off so can chill till school pick up time.

We're almost at the end of this thread! I've started a new one & replied there.
