For C25K graduates who are taking the next step!

W10R1 this morning, 3x15min runs with minute walks in between. I wasn't at all sure I was going to finish but I did, checked MapMyRun & saw I'd done 6.3K.

Hadn't realised I could run that far!

I've got a baseball cap but I'm also worried about slipping over running in the rain. I know what you mean about ticking off the landmarks though.

As for motivation, I was originally going to stop after the 5K but then a close friend died from pancreatic cancer. Hence the 10K.

Why don't you sign up for a race? Mine's not until May so I have the time to get ready but I also know I need to keep going.

W10R2 and I'm rewarding myself in Costa with a salted caramel cappuccino.

It should have been 3x15 with 1 min walks in between, but I somehow managed to miss the first "Stop running". Had a look at my phone because it seemed like I'd been going a long time & realised I was halfway through the second run. Oops. I think it was because I was listening to a story & the voice kind of merged in.

So it turned into 30min run, 2min walk, 15min run. I can live with that Grin

Well done on the 30 min stretch, Empress, how are you feeling today?

I was working really late last night so i didn't get to do anything. Today has been frantic, but just arrived in a lovely hotel for 2 days of child free bliss. I was planning a 7k run this morning but slept really badly so got up later than planned and did 5km at 6.30, because I knew when I got here I'd just sink onto the bed and not move and I was right Room service is on its way. Happy weekend everyone!

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans · 11/11/2016 21:52

On a weekend like that I think 5K is fine! I'm OK, I'm making sure I do plenty of stretching before & after. I'm planning to do W10R3 in a different park on Sunday morning. Enjoy the hotel!

Well done all! Week 9 run 2 complete, wasn't too painful :) I'm really enjoying being back on a plan, ticking off the runs as I do them, seems to keep me motivated. I'll have to try and get back to 3/4 runs a week but not too fast

KanyesVest · 12/11/2016 11:27

Sod's law, I was awake at 8 this morning. While Dh snored I did 7.5km run (3x17 mins) and walked 1km at the end. It's horribly hilly round these parts! I'm feeling very virtuous that I did 12k steps before breakfast, so I'm off to the thermal suite for a few hours Wink

AnnettePrice · 12/11/2016 15:11

W1R2 done
In the rain. Tried to avoid puddles but feet still very wet. Glad Zi put towels in the car.
I didn't here the 1st walk so I ended up doing 20,10,10.
Exhausted and much slower than previous but did 6.3k

Week 9 run 3 complete, weathers not bad for it. Moving on to 3 runs of 15 minutes next I think. Good luck this week everyone! I'm aiming for at least 2 more runs this week

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans · 14/11/2016 20:31

Good luck to you too, Zef!

I've just started my worst week of the year in work, so I'm not sure how much running I'm going to get done this week. Hoping to get out early tomorrow. --if I say it here I have to do it!-

AnnettePrice · 15/11/2016 18:15

Zef thank you :-)

My week from now on is hectic, going away this weekend, will try to fit a run in whilst away but I'm rather subject to other people's timetables so will have to see

W1R3 done
Started out late, hardly any street lights here so ended up doing last 10 mins in the dark rather slowly. Think I need a head torch :-/

I don't seem to be getting all 3 runs in per week, I really need to step up and make sure I fit all 3 in.

KanyesVest · 15/11/2016 18:31

I hate not being in control of my running timetable too, Annette, it's really frustrating. Lidl sometimes have head lights in their running sales or I'm keeping an eye out for a lit fishing cap they had last year. I missed them l and they looked great.

Dd decided I didn't need to run this morning, so she kept me awake most of last night Hmm. I only got to sleep about 5.30 so there was no way I was getting up an hour later! Just got out for 30 mins between getting home from work and dh having to go out. I think I'm running on adrenaline but I was pretty fast for me and did just under 4.5k in exactly 30 mins. Hoping to get out again tomorrow.

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans · 16/11/2016 09:11

W10R3 now done, didn't feel like it this morning but pleased I did it anyway. I'm getting progressively slower but I'm also running progressively longer so I'll worry about that next year.

Kanye congrats on getting out. Better 30 mins than 0.
I can remember the no sleeping due to DC, so glad that it doesn't happen any more. I don't function well without 8 hrs sleep.

Empress remember it's all about the amount of time running, your pace will get better later.

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans · 16/11/2016 11:14

Thanks Annette. That's what I'm telling myself but it's good to hear it from someone else too! Hope you enjoy your weekend.

Kanye, sounds like you're doing a brilliant job on minimal sleep!

I have DC afflicted by an autumn lurgy, and I'm wondering if I'm coming down with it too (hope not, I'm meant to be going hiking this weekend).

Running felt like an effort this morning, so I did 'only' just over 3 miles. It seems like only 5 minutes ago that was a remote-feeling target distance Grin

Before that, I was up to 4.5 miles in a bit under 40minutes.

I'm not really following the programme, just making sure that I run regularly

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans · 16/11/2016 12:07

Sounds like it's going round AuntieStella, hope you're ok.

I know what you mean about "only" 3 miles, I remember when running 1 mile seemed like a long way!

OP posts:
KanyesVest · 17/11/2016 08:03

Hope you're not too hard hit by the lurgy, Stella.

Cold and miserable morning here so I only managed 25mins after struggling out of bed. Will be Sunday night or Monday before I get to do any more.

ZefStar · 17/11/2016 14:37

Hello! Oh yes I remember when 3 miles seemed so unachievable, very proud to be able to do it now.
I've not been able to stick to the 10K plan this week as I've not had the time or childcare but I've done a couple of 30/40 minute runs when I can fit them in. Seems a few of us are in the same boat :)

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans · 17/11/2016 17:36

No kids here but life still gets in the way...

Starting W11 tomorrow, 3x17 min runs, & next Fri I want to do 7K. Even if it means switching the timer off.

Best of luck with the 7k empress, I'm sure you'll be able to do it.
Just finished week 10 run 1. I always track my runs with my Fitbit but it's stopped announcing my miles and pace to me for some weird reason. This actually seems to be a good thing though, I'm less focussed on my pace and have just been enjoying the running

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 20/11/2016 12:33

WooHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Life got in the way again so I started W11 this afternoon, got to 6.5K by the end and just decided to keep going... next time I checked, 7.29K!!!!!

10K is looking more and more possible 😀😀😀

Zef, that sounds like a really good plan. I'm now off home to lie around & watch TV for the afternoon.
