My club mate is very speedy KeyserSophie and she got shouted at by two guys she overtook at a race we went to together for nothing other than she was getting in their way Confused she beat them both so she didn't get in their way for long!

Ran with my neighbour today and we took 4 mins off our route we did on weds, she's doing so well! 583.73

Great race results keyser and cinnamon.

I just did parkrun today. Was feeling good and conditions were perfect for a PB. I was on track then at about 3k felt my left calf tighten up so eased back. It is still very tight and feels like it could pull at any stage. Sad ended up 20secs off previous PB so would have easily had a new one if I was ok.

Never mind will focus on sorting out calf for race next week.

I got stung in the mouth by a wasp! Can you believe it?

Was doing a recovery run and a wasp flew in my mouth, stung my tongue and (I guess) flew off. My first thought was "at least I'm only 300m from the hospital". Fortunately it didn't come to that. Was just sore for a few hours.

Ouch keyser! Glad you're ok.
Nice easy paced run in the woods, plenty of hills, was pouring with rain at first but then the sun came out.
Bootcamp is doing a challenge, how many miles can you walk or run in May. So last night it said on Facebook that the leader was on 70 miles. I checked my total - 181! So that's why I feel tired! It's all the dog's fault...

That's a real shame purpletoes, hope it heals quickly!

Ow KeyserSophie!

Nice one emummy, sounds like me! I'm averaging 105km a week on my Fitbit at the moment. Is there a prize for winning the challenge?

Glorious morning for a run here, dh has calmed down a lot over running but prefers me to go a bit later so we have some time first. 9.30 run, exploratory because of who we went with but was lovely and dogs had a great time. 605.93

Congrats on your race and 2nd placeKeyser. I quite like the shorter trail races too. They are over and done with quickly, but can be very enjoyable despite having to go at a faster pace.
Cinnnamon so pleased you DH has calmed down a bit about your running now. When my new OH is with me he prefers that I go out v early (7am) so he sleeps and gets up when I get back, rather than me spend 2.5 hrs training with the club on Sunday mornings.
My fitbit died recently and I haven't replaced it. I don't miss it at all, but I think for the 3 yrs I had it I developed good exercise habits and know approximately when I've done my exercise quota for the day. I also like having days when OH is with me where I don't run or walk without feeling guilty about it!
26.5 miles to add from Wednesday. HM next Sunday, I'm doing the Mont St Michel marathon in duo with a friend from the club.

Oh good cinnamon, thought it was just me! I don't know about a prize, I think an appointment with a podiatrist would be good! Glad you and Dh have sorted things. Like anglaise my Dh is happy for me to go while he's still in bed!

Let me add on my miles first - 2.5 from track on Tuesday, 2 from relay race on Thursday - 3.5 from parkrun and warm up on Saturday and an unexpected 10 miles today - an out and back route with club, I got gossiping and forgot to turn back at 3 miles!! 18 miles in total.

Glad your feeling better queen marathons can take it out of you.

keyser we were talking today about inventing something that keeps flies out of your mouth while running - hope your sting heals! We decided it's probably easiest to keep our mouths shut!!

Wow emummy that's impressive mileage, do you post yours on Facebook or not?

cinnamon glad things are back on an even keel - my DH and I are like ships passing in the night, running opposite so we don't need baby sitters! I left as he came home this morning!

The dilemma of the week is half or full at Liverpool next week - I'm booked in to do the half, then after Rome marathon I was disappointed and tried to change up to the full, but could only do it the day before. Is 2 and a half hours enough running, or should I go for it? Less drinking time with the full, but less child free time too? Hmm I think I need to check the weather forecast for next week!

karatekimmi, I don't put my runs on Facebook; I am on th Runmummyrun group, but I'm more of a commenter than a poster! Think I might post if I do manage the Glen Coe half though!
Tonight I am enjoying wine, having submitted my final OU assessment of the year. It's summer holiday time!

Wow Anglaise - Mont st Michel? how does that work - do you go up to the monastery and all that? (tell me I have the right place? wen there as a child and made a lasting impression!)

I am stressed stressed stressed and cried at the beginning and end of yoga last week!! Anyway dd (11) is staying with me at the moment and she wants to start running. She wont do run walk and so I am thinking of down hill and round the bend to the park running, hop on the park's exercise stuff and then power walk up the hill back home.

Great race result, Keyser, well done on 2nd place. It's always nice to beat someone you weren't expecting to as well. Ouch about the wasp though, I hate them!
Just can't understand why a minority of men can't cope with a female being better than them at something. Bizarre mindset nowadays. It must be very enjoyable to sail past them Grin

Glad things are better with your DH cinnamon , hope the later run time
works out.

Mont St Michael sounds brilliant Anglaise. I remember visiting on a school trip too.

Sorry you're feeling so stressed stilllearnin. Maybe the yoga acted like a bit of a release and let some of it all out? Hope your DD enjoys the running. I love running with DS, we get a great chat.

I've got 5.2 intervals to add from Sun morning. Hard work!

Flowers Stilllearnin so sorry you are feeling stressed, its normal and I hope the running (especially if you can motivate DD. I can't motivate my DD age 15 at all!
Its the 3rd year I will have done the marathon of Mont St Michel in duo (I live 30kms from it). It goes from Cancale to Mont St Michel but you don't actually go up to the monastery, it stops about 1.5 kms before that (the whole Mont has recenty been converted into an island again). I always do the 2nd part which is slightly longer, not many spectators for most of it when you run through the polders (which is a shame)but the last 1.5 kms running up to the mount is fantastic to do. To do it as a marathon can be a bit boring as it is very flat, you see the Mont nearly all the way and there is no shelter at all from the wind and rain and sun if the weather is extreme.
6 miles to add from yesterday

Lovely run in the woods and up hills today, saw some deer, met some nice dogs and just had a nice time. New trainers are great, even though they're for road not trail. New trail ones planned for next month.
Sorry you're so stressed stillearnin, I hope life settles down soon. I am the opposite, having handed in my final OU assessment of the year last night, am officially a lady of leisure till October! What will I find to do...

Thanks for your messages. Well, dd was up at 6 and looked very cool. She is not a natural but I am really hoping she perseveres. She is not unfit at all, but no stamina!! My ds is really unfit but can go for literally miles - as long as he is talking - that sounds untrue doesn't it?

I can imagine that course Anglaise i had visions of you running up and down those steps.

You made me laugh emummy - what happens in October - is a new course or the next year following on.

October is the start of the next year stillearnin, two more to go and then get job/do a masters. Dh is expecting me to get a job but I might need the masters to do that, will have to break it to him gently!

Anglaise runs where you can see one thing the whole way are awful in my experience, mentally being able to see a church spire near where my friend lived on a long run just broke me!

3.6 from club. My milage is so down this month, really going to try and hit 150 for the first time in June though.

Hi, a lovely faster run for me. A new route and quite a lot of incline- making me feel all athletic. Not far but I enjoyed it. Wanna take a bet on whether dd gets up for a run in the morning. Oh - I have calculated that we did 2 miles in total but over half walking I would say.

Anyway adding 3.5 from today. making 698.4

Good luck with getting your dd up for an early run stilllearnin, though if she was up at 6 the other day that's pretty good going! I know what you mean about ds being able to go for miles when talking, my ds2 is like that when we do Munro climbs, he moans and complains with us but with a friend along he just chats and is up at the top without realising it Grin

Enjoy your relaxing summer emummy, plenty of time for running, perfect Smile

7.2 from me this morning, lovely sunny day. Was a bit worried I'd split a fawn from its mother, mum jumped through a gap in the hedge and over the road just in front of me but baby was spooked by seeing me and stopped. I ran on for a bit then hid in a gap and looked back to see mum disappearing through trees on the far side of her field and baby was just trotting round looking a bit lost in its field. Stopped for a good 5 mins (Garmin bleeped!) but mum didn't reappear and baby eventually went back in the direction they had come from and went into some trees there. Hoping they have a 'meet up' place pre-arranged.
I'm sure deer are perfectly capable of coping with this but baby looked so unsure trotting around, I can't help feeling a bit sad.

7.2 + 701.8= 709
