Fantastic Anglaise and how was the post-race celebration?

Congratulations Keyser - are you superhuman? (correct answer is 'some days, yes I am')

As a complete contrast to everyone's amazing running... I managed a measly 12 while on holiday.

Looking forwards to getting back to it!

Hope you enjoyed your holiday last - 12 miles is a good haul for a holiday!

The dog and I ran to the woods and back again yesterday, this time I had 3x5 min intervals of running and it was fun actually. I think we covered about 2 miles in all.

Hope you're not coming down with something emummy!

Well done Anglaise1 and keyserSophie, awesome as always!

Thank you all, I genuinely believe that he does feel that he doesn't want me to leave him in the mornings. He feels I'm trying to get away from him. I usually do 3 week days either evenings or early mornings, always parkrun but as I'm not training for anything feel the pressure to stop going on a Sunday. Evenings can be awkward, he always says the right things but then isn't particularly helpful and early mornings he seems ok with these days. We did have a chat about it Sunday so we'll see if he can make me feel less guilty!

Hope you can get that all worked out cinnamon.
Beautiful day here, but warm for running, thank goodness I was in the forest and got some shade! Dog spent her run going from stream to stream! Legs felt heavy and tired again, not sure why really.

Hello again! I'm back posting on mumsnet now I don't need to re-enter my password every time!

I've been running - completed my first marathon in Rome last month, and I think I'm going to upgrade from the half to the full at Liverpool at the end of the month -Anyone else doing the Rock and Roll?

I did Market Drayton 10k on Sunday and managed to knock 5 mins off my "seasons best" I have a long standing PB that I don't think I'll match

I'm joining a friend on a 5/10k improvement course over 10 weeks tonight.

I'll catch up on the threads in a bit I just want to mark my place! It's good to see you all still running

Welcome back kimmi that's pretty good going!!

It was first wet and then hot today and all during lunch break - but an good feeling 3.5 today.

Take it easy emummy Having said that I have a horrible chesty cough and a sore throat (my best runs recently have been with a sore throat though!).

Thursday Your woodland run sounds lovely - I must get back to the woods - I am getting a bit bored of the current route.

Anyway I make that 264.7

Keyser wow, well done, an excellent performance! If you have any tips on how to descend I'd be really grateful. Was talking to my coach today who knows the trail race I'm going to do in October really well and it is the 5km descents (with stones) that are the most tricky, not the ascents. I'm good on going up hills but am a real wuss when it comes to going down!
Cinners sounds like a compromise is possible with DH. Men can be sensitive afer all! I'm still with the one who I fancy enough to forsake my Sunday training occasionally. Not sure it is a long term thing, so I'm making the most of it.
Kimmi I can't believe you are going to do another marathon so quickly after Rome but why not? Good luck!
17 miles from the last 2 days to add. Doing a little 17km trail race on Saturday so will try and take it easy for the rest of the week.

6.25 to add
4 miles pyramid session
2 and a bit jog home.

Really happy with the session. Managed to hold a comfy 7:45 mile pace for nearly all of it, dropped to 8:15 ish for the second last effor but back to 6:55 for the last to make up for it. Major runners high.

5.5 to add. ** From club run tonight. Took it Easy on pace but with some hills thrown in then after was our club Agm and a quick drink post to dissect.

Everyone's running is very inspiring. Must look into booking more races. I have the vitality10000 on bank holiday Monday to look forward to but nothing else really over the summer. I think I am more of a winter runner in the cool than in the heat.

Anglaise I cant really advise on those Alpine type descents as we dont really get that sort of "loose top" scree - it tends to be big rocks stuck into the clay. I agree it's a skill though- my friend did the UT race in the Dolomites last summer (I cant remember the name) and she said the scree descents were the hardest bits. One key thing is to get your weight forward, which seems counterintutive but stabilises you as if your weight is too far back you slide with all your weight behind you.

Adding 9.5 miles this week - 7.5k track last night and then just a gym commute today. Feeling tired and definitely having tomorrow off, so stilllearnin the answer is "probably not". I think I had a good run of races as I had built up good fitness and endurance and then cut my mileage right down for those 5 weeks, so really just doing the race, 1 track session and then one other shortish run each week.

I'm actually really now wishing I wasnt doing RTTS. I'm so not in the right frame of mind for a 100k. I just want to eat the cake.

Well done on your marathon karatekimmi!

5.5 from me last night. We'd had a horrible wet day so it was cooler but still a bit warm for the dogs! 298.45

I can see your post purpletoes and it looks fine, seems that KeyserSophie's miles weren't added right so should have been 302.95, with my 5.5 I make the total 308.45

2.92 miles from track last night for me, (although I think it should count as double with how wet it was) I went home in my pants and a hoody! It was fine til I got home and had to dash from the car to the house!!

311.37 I make it

I hope things resolve themselves cinnamon it does help having a running husband - although we often have to take turns for runs and races.

I'm not sure I like summer running but I keep finding myself signing up for races!! I've just signed up for Shrewsbury half marathon. Not sure how I'll explain that to my husband! The good news Hmm is I'm back at work next week so a lot less time on the computer to book things!!

17.5 miles with my running buddies from the last few days, today was really wet I think the dog enjoyed it more than we did! Forecast is better for the weekend thank goodness, I have a little 16km trail race on Saturday afternoon in the forest valleys which I love running in, lots of hills not on the scale of Hong Kong but hilly for around here!

No parkrun for me tomorrow and have our club's members 10k on Sunday so lots of cake baking tomorrow.

I am looking forward to runs through the woods now it's getting lighter in the evenings.
