New thread for an (almost) new year, and almost exactly a year since the start of the original thread!

Purple I surprised myself with MMX Grin less impressed with my efforts with Warrior today, I have always been pants at sphinx, plank pushup but extra pants today, as for scissor thingies forget it.

Boobz 3k is great on such low cals and p90x3 too Star

Purpleraindeer · 12/01/2016 21:15

Refeeding phase makes me think of babies boobz! Grin those foam rollers are evil. We had one when DH and I were both running a lot and we called it 'the maiden' (as in iron maiden). Awful.

I had your experience on warrior when I did max30 cardio challenge today poppy. It was no way as bad when I did it last week. Shall we both just blame it on our extra hard work outs the day before?

And I forgot to say happy thread birthday on Saturday. One year and still chatting about work outs... Amazing. There's no way I could have got as far as I have without all of the support on here. So thank you all! Flowers Star

Boobz · 13/01/2016 07:09

Yes can I echo that thank you? I had been Insanitying every day for about 9 months by the time this thread started last year, so was super fit when I met you all.... and then was diagnosed with BC about 12 weeks in... I was so determined to keep up my fitness persona on here that I think I exercised and tried to maintain that fitness so much more than if I hadn't have met you all.... so a truly big thank you from me too.

6 miles on the treadmill today. 2 more days of fasting until food.

yumyumpoppycat · 13/01/2016 10:16

Oh yes Happy Thread birthday everyone,
Star Wine

Star Wine

it is really amazing so many of us are still here or hopefully back to posting soon.

Boobz I am totally amazed that you kept up insanity etc during chemo and so glad you are at the other side with more restorative/nurturing treatments happening now.

Purpleraindeer · 13/01/2016 17:12

Did total synergistics today. (Don't tell, but I am working at home and did it mid morning....naughty) anyway - to my great delight I did 3 unassisted pull ups and 5 chin ups. I must have been secretly getting stronger and not realised. I love p90x3 again now! I am fickle Grin

Hope everyone else is doing ok?

Purpleraindeer · 13/01/2016 17:14

How did your 6 miles on empty go boobz? I'm amazed that you're able to exercise at all on a fast. I'd have taken to my bed to watch Netflix!

Boobz · 13/01/2016 19:03

It went surprisingly well - much better than the 3 miles yesterday. I waiting until after I had done osteopathy, psychotherapy and had my "lunch" of apple juice, so I think the spinal realignment and fructose really helped! TBH I've been surprised at how much energy I've had as well - but it just goes to show that when your body burns fat for fuel, it can stay sated and energetic.

Well done you on the pull/chin up challenge, that's amazing. How many days was it since you started? P90X is good for strength that's for sure.

Boobz · 13/01/2016 19:04

*waited

Jacksterbear · 13/01/2016 20:34

Happy (belated) thread anniversary! You are all awesome and amazing. To us! WineWine

Boobz so glad the clinic is being a positive experience for you.

Purple for the pull-ups/chin-ups! Impressive! And poppy, sounds like you are making a great comeback. Smile

Have been to gym yesterday (spin) and today (combat).

Everyone else ok?

x

Well done Jackster - doing the double!

I did Insanity Pure Cardio today - badly - but got through it.

Tomorrow is the 12 miler - eeek.

Fullsteamahead · 15/01/2016 20:30

Hello girls. Finally got a chance to write.

Well done Purple on getting through the assault course!

Happy Belated Borthday wishes to you all. Sorry I've missed it.

I've had three crazy days, baking for orders pretty much round the clock. Four hours sleep each night during the last three! I've been so knackered that had to miss workouts yesterday and today and am currently filling myself with wine!

The plan is to catch up over the wend, I think Im getting back into the exercise routine though, I'm actually looking forward to working out tomorrow!

Have a great weekend everyone!

yumyumpoppycat · 16/01/2016 00:07

Sounds like you are really busy with your new business fullsteam!

Goodluck for your 12 miler boobz, how was your solid food meal?

Jackster I am getting back into it by some miracle!! Did kettle bell wed, rest thu and p90x3 CVX (cardio where you hold a weight in both hands) this eve with a 4kg kettlebell - was a bit too heavy for constant use so did the moves without a weight periodically but felt like a really good workout. Just as well really as had a family meal out with wine and desert etc.

Have a great weekend all.

Boobz · 16/01/2016 10:32

11.18 miles in -2'C and snow: 1h49. Epic.

yumyumpoppycat · 16/01/2016 12:05

Wow well done Boobz Grin Star sounds amazing in snow what a challenge.... I know nothing about running but I think that sounds very fast too?!

Boobz · 16/01/2016 14:06

Not that fast unfortunately - if I want to get a sub 4 hour marathon, then I should have completed it in 1hr 42, but given the conditions, I'll take it!

And really, I am only 7 weeks into an 18 weeks training programme so I hope to be a lot fitter/better runner by April 10th.

I think I can seen ab peaking. Weight stayed stable today at 53.5kg - total loss since coming to clinic of 5.4kg - nearly a stone! Am hoping it goes down tomorrow thanks to run.

Boobz · 16/01/2016 14:07

I leave tomorrow too - and back to work on Monday - time to get back to life post-cancer it seems.

yumyumpoppycat · 16/01/2016 16:52

Boobz I think it was incredibly sensible to do this for yourself before getting back to the hurly burly of life. That is great weightloss - how do you feel in yourself have you had any other benefits?

yumyumpoppycat · 16/01/2016 16:54

Only 7 mins off what you need so taking into account fasting and snow I think that sounds pretty damn good!

Boobz · 16/01/2016 18:21

Yes yum - loads of benefits. I can now get back into my skinny jeans and just look a whole lot better without my muffin top (my thighs are still chubby - I really do have to get to about 50kg before they are smooth and slim - my hardest areas to get to what I want them to look like...) but overall I look so much leaner and better.

I am feeling very awake and refreshed when I wake up each morning (no alcohol/caffeine I imagine) and I feel lighter (all organic veg and lots of enemas!)

I tell you a bad side effect though - ketosis breath - yuk! Am looking forward to that sodding off.

I also feel rested and generally mentally sound - I was going a bit loopy with all the cancer thoughts and Christmas mayhem.

But finally, if this has done some good towards staving off another bout of cancer, then that's the important thing.

How is everyone else getting on?

Purpleraindeer · 16/01/2016 20:19

Hello all!
Sounds like the business is going well fullsteam. Are you running a bakery? I know some people who do that and the hours are awful - 2am starts Shock. Sounds like it's going well for you - hope you were able to squeeze in a workout today.

Poppy - cvx with 4kg?! You must be pleased with that. I'm sure we were both doing 2kg when we last compared notes. youre back with a vengeance.

Boobz - that's a good pace for 11m. isnt that almost exactly the mara pace you're looking for? You don't want to go too fast anyway as makes it more difficult to recover. Am glad the clinic has been good for you. I'm very envious. Sounds so peaceful. I wonder how it will impact your eating once you're home. I bet your appetite is tiny now. I wish mine was....

I went out for a massive lunch then did tabata power this afternoon. I swear the pizza in my tummy made the press ups harder. Am doing a p90x3 workout tomorrow. Might even do a double with the yoga one.

Have a good evening all! Smile

Jacksterbear · 17/01/2016 20:21

Boobz hope you got home safely and good luck going back to work tmrw. Sound like you've had an amazing experience.

fullsteam your business sounds like it's doing well. Hope you find time to fit in some exercise too!

Have had a horrible cold + cough + sinus pain for last 4 days so have had 2 unscheduled rest days, but have managed to complete PiYo Buns and T25 Beta Upper Focus (relatively easy workouts although they didn't feel it!).

at Purple and poppy, and anyone else who's around.

OP posts:
Boobz · 18/01/2016 09:13

I don't think it's sub 4 hour pace Purple, so would have to work on it (but I would hope it wouldn't snow in Rome in April so the conditions will be better!)

Yes an amazing experience. Some lovely before and after photos (these are my super skinny jeans - size 26" waist)

Sorry to hear you are unwell Jackster - well done for working out anyway!

Any photos of your muddy event yet Purple?

Did my 3 miles today - bloody cold. 6 miles and 3 miles the two days after that, then I will do an Insanity on my rest day, and then I have 13 miles on Friday. LOVING running again - can't believe it has taken me this long to get back into it. Feels like Kenya all over again (just need to find a Bikram Yoga studio closer to me now...)

Purpleraindeer · 19/01/2016 20:40

Hi all!
Amazing before and after photos boobz. You must be thrilled. It's a lot of weight to lose in such a short period of time.

Do they say you will gain a bit back as you go back to normal eating? Received diet wisdom says if you eat too little you go into starvation state and so when you start eating again you put it on quicker, but I never know whether this sort of comment is nonsense or actually supported by evidence.

Glad you're enjoying the running. I love it too. I love it mostly as a way to get outside and get fresh air. I really miss living in London (weird I know) at this time of year as I used to go out running at night after work which I found really relaxing. If I did that now I'd probably get run over by a tractor or fall in a ditch on a country road!

Did lots of exercise this weekend - 1x max30, double of p90x3 and then sweat intervals (my personal nemesis - never gets easier Angry) max30 tonight

A couple of mud run photos attached. In one you can see me wearing my toddlers pink gloves with bows on. Hardcore.

Jackster - hope you're feeling better. Are you still homeschooling? Hope it's going well.

God that looks hardcore Purple! You look like you are nailing it though! Am slightly bricking my TOUGHEST event in April - I really need to work on my upper body strength but not sure where to find the time now. I am running 4 times a week including a 2hr+ run as per my Higdon schedule, but it doesn't leave much time for Insanity/P90X, and I have started back at work this week too. I did my long run this morning before work today (13 miles) so I wouldn't have to do it on the weekend when supposed to be hanging out with the kids, but am a bit knackered now to sit down to work!

But I think it will work - Mon - Thurs running, Fri - Sun P90X/Insanity.

Yes I have put some weight back on as expected, but only about 1.5kg, so still -4kg for the month. I am hoping as I up my mileage on the runs and get into a weekend routine of Insanity that that 1.5kg will come off soon enough, in addition to the 2kg or so still to go! Tomorrow is fast day as well - let's see if I can do it without an institution setting the meal times!

How is everyone else? Are you still here Insanity&Divorce - how are you getting on - nearly finished month 1? And mamapants and Lounging - still here?

Waves to Yum, Jackster and Fullsteam.

Boobz · 22/01/2016 08:16

Insanity Cardio Power & Resistance done. My upper body strength needs a lot of attention before Toughest - I guess the surgery has buggered my chest muscles a bit - couldn't do the press up section without going to my knees.

Will do P90X legs and back tomorrow I think - get the pull up bar out.

Oh Purple - I am going to be at Barry's at the 7:10am class on Tuesday 9th Feb in case I can convince you to get up early!

Have a great weekend all!
