Perfect running weather today in HK- shame I have a little race tomorrow or I'd have gone further, but just an easy 5.5 miles on the trails- my last run of April.

Purpletoes · 30/04/2016 11:22

MyBlackCat · 30/04/2016 12:23

Parkrun tail runner for me today, really enjoyed it. Running a 12 hour relay tomorrow with 10km laps, think I will struggle and hope I can get a power nap in between legs Grin

lastqueenofscotland · 30/04/2016 13:38

3.1 very very steady park run miles, 6 mins off a PB, across the line in 30 mins, but had a lovely jog in the sun with a friend and a lovely brekkie after

602.45

familygermsareok · 30/04/2016 19:29

Popping in to add my final April miles, not had much chance to keep up with thread recently, just work and kids social lives eating up free time. Keeping on plodding on though.

23.6 + 602.45 = 626.05

cinnamongreyhound · 30/04/2016 22:49

parkrun and there and back for me 630.05

stilllearnin · 01/05/2016 08:13

arghhhh. i have a cold and a wardrobe malfunction and a houseful of 11/12 yr old girls so only 2.5 from me. But I am hoping for a better week.

lastqueenofscotland · 01/05/2016 10:01

stilllearnin · 01/05/2016 11:35

lastqueen I have no advice for you - but you rest your tired legs while I do your maths...

634.55

emummy · 01/05/2016 19:02

Sorry stilllearnin but lastqueen is right, it's the first of May so the total starts again, so it is2!

MyBlackCat · 01/05/2016 20:03

12.4 as part of a relay team at the conti 12hr lightening run, definetly won't be running that far for a few months Smile with lastqueen and. stilllearnin I make that ...

16.9

Anglaise1 · 01/05/2016 20:34

LastQueen I really think you should forget about speed at the moment and just do some enjoyable slower runs. The week after my marathon I ran everyday except the day after, but only for an hour or so and no intervals.
10 miles to add from yesterday.
644.55

Chasing2959 · 01/05/2016 21:49

Can I join you? Have run off & on slowly for a few years now want to run regularly & speed up! 4 miles today from me makes 20.9 Hopefully can check in here to keep motivated!

KeyserSophie · 02/05/2016 03:47

welcome chasing - newcomers always welcome.

Well done myblackcat. I'm doing my first relay later this year (did the solo last year and still traumatised so decided to share the burden this year) but it's not laps so won't be as much fun as yours'.

lastqueen Agree with Anglaise. After an A-race it always pays to dial it back a little bit for a few weeks.

Raced yesterday- 15k of trail/tarmac. Came 2nd woman and 1st in category albeit in a fairly small field. Was pleased with my climbing, which was where I managed to gain places, and my pace on the tarmac, where I managed to hold the road runners off. A bit lucky as the trail part of the course was very wet and muddy so overall it favoured the trail runners, whereas last year it was so dry you could have done it in road shoes and the road runners kicked our arses Grin. Also given me more confidence to trust my pacing. Left for dead at the start but slowly hauled them all back over the first 10k.

30.9 (to correct earlier total as Anglaise added to April instead of May) plus 9 from me makes 39.9

lastqueenofscotland · 02/05/2016 05:25

I know you're both right! It's just frustrating I guess!

No running for me today as I'm awake at this stupid hour to go on my holidays.
Up nice and early for a VLM ballot entry though Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 02/05/2016 07:05

But Anglaise1 said yesterday (post was yesterday) so that would still make it April, I think? So 29.9

Well done KeyserSophie, fab racing!

Have a lovely holiday lastqueenofscotland!

Well I'm racing today! It's my clubs 10k which I usually help at but as I always take dh to help a club mate said I could run so I entered on Thursday. What's the best way to prepare for this, ah yes be awake from 5am with a grumpy baby! Now happy but still awake so just sitting up with humans letting dh sleep.

ThursdayLastWeek · 02/05/2016 08:25

Hello everyone,
Anyone mind if I tag back in and use all your motivation to get me back up to speed after having DC2 recently?

I forgot about the mile adding up! That was always a challenge to my addled brain Grin

No running for me today as DC1 not in preschool, but wanted to share my excitement at having entered the ballot at some god forsaken time this morning!

ThursdayLastWeek · 02/05/2016 08:27

Good luck for your race today cinnamon and anyone else competing.

My aim is to get back to fullest fitness by August in order to compete in my favourite local 10k. Shouldn't be a problem, just taking it slowly due to elcs.

emummy · 02/05/2016 09:21

Welcome back Thursday, hope dcs are well.
First run since race last week, took a test to get foot better, so nice steady run with dog this morning.
34.5
Good luck cinnamon!

ThursdayLastWeek · 02/05/2016 12:05

Thanks emummy Smile

I was in fact able to get out for a very short run so I can add my first miles 1.9 + 34.5 = 36.4

HalleLouja · 02/05/2016 12:55

13.1 miles with the 401 man. If you get a chance to run with him do. Loads of fun. My watch didn't recognise a half but am taking it. 47.5

HalleLouja · 02/05/2016 12:56

Sorry49.5

stilllearnin · 02/05/2016 13:41

Ha Ha! My maths skills can be added to my calendar skills and lo! total confusion!!
Grin

May? How did that happen (and thank goodness March and April are always my worst months)

cinnamongreyhound · 03/05/2016 13:32

Welcome back ThursdayLastWeek!

I finished in 55:47 and as I hoped to finish in under 56 I was happy! My pb for that course is 54:56 but that was pre baby, having said that I sped up quite a lot for the last 1k and I usually don't have much left in my legs so perhaps I could have gone faster Wink. So lovely having all my club mates marshalling shouting me on too! 55.7

Anglaise1 · 03/05/2016 19:28

Congrats on your 10k Cinners and it is great that you had some juice at the end. Next time I bet you'll beat your PB.
And well done again Keyser great result. I'll be after some tips from you for altitude training. Unfortunately there are no real difficulties around here to train on!
Welcome back Thursday you have loads of time to train for your 10k. And Last enjoy your holiday.
18.75 miles to add from the last 2 days
