4 more miles today, my legs hate me!! 257.8

lastqueenofscotland · 12/04/2016 22:19

4.22 was meant to be intervals but I wasn't feeling it so jogged Grin

262.02

Purpletoes · 12/04/2016 22:22

5.7 from me. Jog to club nd club run. Did get a lift home as toured after working. I even went in a slower group think it will take a few weeks to get used to working and running again. Was very disappointed to come home to the news from little Stoke parkrun Sad

MyBlackCat · 13/04/2016 18:07

Three and a bit miles to add, I felt awful and probably shouldn't have gone, but I did and now I need to sleep Shock

stilllearnin · 14/04/2016 08:40

Morning - first run in a week. and 3.6 to add. Which seemed to be uphill all the way but can't have been!

MyBlackCat that first trimester is knackering isnt it!

so 274.6

cinnamongreyhound · 14/04/2016 16:51

Lovely run with slight drizzle this morning and no lost dogs!
278.6

familygermsareok · 14/04/2016 17:32

Made a new loop today joining up parts of other routes, very satisfying!
5.4 makes 284

familygermsareok · 14/04/2016 17:51

Have signed petition asking Stoke Gifford Council to reconsider re parkrun charge.

Purpletoes · 14/04/2016 20:15

Hi a lovely run the last part home. Got off the train a stop early and ran through the woods. Fabulous evening. Happy way to end the working week! Grin287.17

emummy · 14/04/2016 20:55

Evening run today for a change, was lovely! Felt nice and relaxed.

cinnamongreyhound · 15/04/2016 07:29

VERY soggy run this morning! 297.27 we have a wedding tomorrow so no parkrun and I doubt I'll get out Sunday as I have no idea of the area we're staying Sad

lastqueenofscotland · 16/04/2016 07:38

Cinnamon I can't make parkrun this week either and it feels like such an important week to make the effort to get there! :(

4.6 Thursday and 5.25 last night.

I'm moving house this weekend and my new run commute will be 7 miles, with a beeeeefy hill for the last mile... Good for my form I hope?!

307.02

familygermsareok · 16/04/2016 19:19

3.1 parkrun , second highest turnout we have had. Lots of speedy kids, they don't seem to notice the hills!
Hope you enjoy the wedding cinnamon
Good luck with the house move lastqueen

Hi All. I literally didn't run at all between the race last weekend and the second one yesterday. My quads were totally destroyed by the 4 big descents. I think it's the height of the steps that's the killer, as your quads have to absorb so much impact.

Anyway, paid off yesterday. 4th overall and 1st in the veterans. Most excitingly I finally broke 2 hrs for "Double Violet Hill and the Twins" - closest I've got before is 2:05. The fastest man did it in 1:23 which is frankly superhuman for 10k and 1000m elevation.

11+km/7miles to add to make 317.12

stilllearnin · 17/04/2016 09:09

Keyser hope you are now resting up!!! (as if...) Double violet hill and the twins sounds like a band. Well done. You must feel great.

I have a little triumph today too. I have a sore throat and frankly ridiculous IBS so nearly didn't run this morning - but its been a hell of a week with the kids and my head needed the space so I decided to go out and take it easy. Cue 6.5 miles in an hour (which is great for me and the longest in 6 months I think). Really I could have kept going too.

Cinners and lastqueen hope the weekend's all run smoothly as poss.

Brilliant racing keyser, very well done!
Glad you got out stilllearnin, hope next week is better.
Last long run before next Sunday's race so went up my nearest big hill. Meant to do 10 miles but cut it short as it was just too icy at the top. The track is very rough anyway and it was really hard to find safe places to step, so decided not to risk it. Think the dog was relieved after she slid about 10 feet on her bum! Beautiful day though, lovely clear views all the way to the sea one way and snowy mountains the other.

FiftyNineOhEight · 17/04/2016 10:28

Well done Keyser you are superwoman!

lastqueen that sounds like a good route Smile

Well done for getting out stillearning

emummy that view sounds fantastic. Ice not so fantastic!

cinners hope you found somewhere to run today.

parkrun for me yesterday, I'm still suffering with a sore calf after last weekend's exertions.

333.23 - almost all the threes!

MyBlackCat · 17/04/2016 12:57

fifty I missed you HM update - how were the Sheffield hills? Shock

FiftyNineOhEight · 17/04/2016 13:24

Grin BlackCat very hard. Going down at the end was more painful than going up. My calf started to ripple at about 11 miles and hasn't been right since, so i've been taking it easy.

The support was absolutely fantastic, the whole route was lined with people giving out jelly babies, high fives and cheering. I would like to go back and explore the peak district a bit more.

Fantastic result Keyser, well done. 'Double Violet Hill and the Twins' sounds quite intimidating in the context of a race. Would make a good name for a band tho Grin
Sheffield profile looks tough too FiftyNine, hope your calf better soon.
Good you enjoyed your runs stilllearnin and emummy.

I am very happy as got my hands on a trophy today. I got 2nd female vet in a HM last August but wasn't there when prizes given out. I was supposed to be running another HM today by same organiser, but I had to pull out as Achilles not up to it so I marshalled instead. Was very delighted to be given my missing trophy Smile Smile

lastqueenofscotland · 17/04/2016 19:52

Just the two miles as been moving everything in.
Enforced tapering I guess!!

HalleLouja · 17/04/2016 20:39

17.6 miles to add from this week. Have run 3 out of the last 4 days. Makes 352.83.

Has anyone run with 401 marathon guy he is coming our way in two weeks and am slightly excited.

I hope all went well for every one this weekend. I am slowly getting back to fitness after 7 weeks of not being right.

Purpletoes · 17/04/2016 20:55

Well done keyser and everyone else who ran this week.
I had a race today a localish hilly 10k. Was beautiful scenery and run not a PB and just 7 seconds over 60mins but proud of my efforts.

Halle hoping to run with 407 Ben next Monday. Am very excited.

Loueytb3 · 18/04/2016 14:26

Helloooo. Sorry for completely dropping off thread. Work went crazy and I was just about keeping my head above water.

Not a hope of catching up completely but I can see Keyser is still doing crazy mad hilly races and congratulations on your BFP MyBlackCat. Hope the house move went well LastQueen.

I have 74.98 miles to add for April. 26.42 of them were at the Brighton Marathon yesterday. Farcical toilet queues meant I missed the sub-4hr I was hoping for and got a measly 23 seconds over 4 hours. It was a pb by 8 minutes but I was a bit gutted at the finish. I've slapped myself in the face a few times today and am feeling better about it. Not least because Strava thinks I've done a sub-4hr marathon Grin

Legs hurt today, not surprisingly but I am walking and can do stairs so it could be worse.
