Gorgeous photo runtothehills!

Glad you enjoyed your recovery run emummy!

I feel I've got my running mojo back a bit! I've never stopped running but it's been a struggle to get out some days and I haven't been as quick as I was pre pregnancy but it seems to all be coming together. I had a really tough day and instead of dreading running I was really looking forward to it and enjoyed it. 1061.8

cinnamongreyhound · 24/11/2015 20:53

Hmmm my iPad obviously didn't bother to turn the page! 1069

Anglaise1 · 24/11/2015 21:46

10 miles in the rain, this morning with the dog run and still raining this evening for the club session. Never mind! It wasn't too cold and the beer after (there are birthdays every week this time of year) made it even more enjoyable.
Just glad I have more than one pair of trainers because with all the wet weather there is one pair drying whilst the other pair get wet...

Anglaise1 · 25/11/2015 10:14

6.9 from this morning. Wet and windy but much less cold. Dog and I got quite dirty as the footpaths are turning very muddy after all the rain this week.

5.4 from me. Club run. Was so tired after the weekend. Have done no running since last Tuesday as on Wednesday my best friend mum died so spinet the weekend in Ireland travelling all around to get to funeral. Was still tired last night but the run really helped to clear my head.
Currently trying to decide what clothes I need for the winter. Any suggestions?

Condolences purple Flowers

Only 1 to add, apologies for pathetic mileage lately.

Shin appears to have recovered fingers and toes crossed Will start working up gradually again until I definitely know it's ok.

Anyone here done Tough Mudder? I've been asked to join a team for this year but can't quite decide if it looks like fun or hell.

winter clothes Purple?
my suggestions..
long sleeve tops
thin jacket
waterproof jacket
gloves
hat
you may already have much of that covered, and it depends on whether you intend running in heavy weather?

Anglaise1 · 25/11/2015 18:25

Suzanne's list is very complete, I'd just add a buff to wear as a scarf or on your head, especially useful if you get caught in a hailstorm as I did often during marathon training in Jan/Feb!

Just 5 to add from yesterday, managed to acquire myself a cold so been pretty laid up (also writing up thesis so running having to take a back burner for next 2 weeks!).

Suzanne running in snow depends on the type of snow. Often like running in sand which is pretty energy sapping. Can be really hard if its crusty. If it gets to deep I change my running shoes for touring skis Grin

Anglaise my trainers are on permanent cycle in the airing cupboard! Love my Buff's in winter too.

Glad you enjoyed your run cinnamon. Tired knackered but hopefully Smile

Treadmill intervals from me, legs feeling heavy but surprised myself, was going to stop at 5/6 but managed 10 reps in the end.

Anglaise1 · 25/11/2015 20:28

Just signed up for the Barcelona Marathon, 13th March 2016. Training starts in 3 weeks. Should really be able to do 3h30m but it depends a lot on my ongoing gastric problems Hmm

12 mile club run with a fast group, beautiful moonlight night, calves are really sore now but excellent recovery session in the pub pint of real ale, hot chicken and stuffing sandwich and chips and gravy. And people wonder why we run!

HotDogJumpingFrogAlburquerque · 25/11/2015 23:10

Purple I'd second a buff, and when it's really cold - earmuffs!

cinnamongreyhound · 26/11/2015 09:26

Sounds lovely mudandmayhem01, apart from the gravy!

The moon really was spectacular today! I was late because ds3 was awake and wanting a feed but wouldn't feed because he couldn't breathe Sad then managed to trip over a branch, had to divert due to forestry works and friends dog had upset tummy so kept stopping! Still only taking my littlest one as week after he hurt himself.

If it's really cold I have a light fleecy parkrun top otherwise I just have long leggings, long sleeve top. My hands get warm once I start and I don't like carrying things so no gloves, and I have plenty of hair to keep my head warm (my theory anyway), I also don't like things around my neck so no buff for me.

emummy · 26/11/2015 12:52

Nice run in the woods in the sunshine today, lovely and peaceful - except for me puffing and panting!
1135.5

Anglaise1 · 26/11/2015 19:54

Nice 11,25mile run with a friend, footpaths OK, not cold and only rain for the last couple of miles. Can't decide whether to do a 10k race on Sunday, or a 27k trail race the Sunday after, or both.

Hi everyone, I've not been on for a while, feeling a bit down about ongoing Achilles which is not really improving as hoped. I'm getting some short slow runs in but it's not really hitting the spot!

Glad you've got your running mojo back cinnamon and clearly turning 50 hasn't affected yours Anglaise Grin. Congrats and good luck with Barcelona training Smile

Lovely photo run

custard I did Tough Mudder last year and absolutely loved it! It was brilliant fun and I would do it again in a shot. I was in a team of 5 and we all helped each other over the obstacles. Strangers all help each other too. I didn't manage Everest, the enormous slidey wall, I just kept slipping down, but you can go around any you either can't do or don't fancy. Being honest I didn't enjoy the electric shock ones, but overall the whole experience was brilliant. And you don't have to be super fit or strong, most people were just normal. Go for it Smile

lastqueenofscotland · 26/11/2015 21:15

That's pretty speedy anglaise!

4.7 from me tonight

1154.45 I think

cinnamongreyhound · 27/11/2015 07:10

4 from me in the rain! The whole left side of my body aches from my fall yesterday but I still managed a good run, thankfully. 1159.45
